Except that no. Standard arc was genuinely good, ZeXal had a bad beggining, but ZeXal DID have good duels, and a lot of them. Especially in the Duel Carnival and the Second Barian Invasion arcs.

Almost every single duel in Zexal followed the exact same formula of summon ace monster in the first 3 turns, then spend the rest of the duel supporting it. Also just the fact that Yuma and Tori exist make it worse.

I'm not saying Yuma was a smart guy, because he wasn't, but his "tactics" make sense for someone so bad. His deck was pretty meh, and the fact that he always summoned his Ace made sense. I'm not saying it's making his duels more entertaining, but at least it makes sense. Tori is shit, and I agree. And to be completely fair, almost every duel in competitive Yu-Gi-Oh IS summoning a boss monster in your first turn and then following up with bigger crap ever since the Synchro Era.

Yeah, Pixie's kinda right. ZeXal also didn't have a type of gimmick duels (although I guess you could treat Zexal Mode as one?), and Arc-V had EVERY duel be an Action Duel, so Escape got really old. Also, ZeXal didn't end with an arc to make a baby smile, but with a call-back to Duel Monsters. Which I find especially good.

Yes, Arc-V's ending was ass and "BUT YOU STILL TAKE DAMAGE!" was a thing, but even then, the duels were more entertaining than anything in Zexal. Yuma's also stupid in ways that are just straight up illogical and he has almost no development through the entire show outside of becoming competent at card games.

I will say an unpopular opinion saying I do like ARC V so far.....But it's true about yuma doing his illogical planning almost denying astrals guidance at times and such But I do enjoy each series none the less! *Drops mic and walks off stage*

Fair enough. The Dark Signer Arc is still the best thing to come out of Yugioh anyway.

Yes, that's also true, the Dark Signers arc IS the best thing ever. Yuma does get developped, with his developpement focusing on learning to accept Astral's help and then becoming good enough to be genuinely good on his own. His duels with Trey and the Cicada guy were also pretty cool.
