Kuze’s book reviews: Warcross
(This is most likely a one time thing, I just loved this book so much.) Marie Lu, Author of great trilogies such as Legend and The Young Elites is one of my favorite young adult authors. Her recent novel Warcross caught my attention with its flashy cover and after reading the first few chapters I was hooked. Told from the perspective of Emika Chen, struggling bounty hunter and hacker as she is hired by Hideo Tanaka to enter a Warcross tournament and catch a hacker. Story: 10/10 Reading this book was like reading my fantasy. You put on these Nuro link glasses and Bam! You’re playing the game. It’s SAO done right. You can either play a game of Warcross, a team based Moba, or let the virtual world overlap with reality and customize your virtual self to look how you want. Or you can just have dragons flying around your hometown. The story is good about explaining how everything works in a way that everyone can under stand and doesn’t randomly change the rules on you. I was hooked from beginning to end as I read this novel.
Warcross as a game: 9.5/10 while the whole idea of the neuro link glasses confuse me when playing actual games because your movements still trigger for your actual body that’s my only issue. It’s a sound game with rules that everyone can understand and enjoy. Then with the whole changing reality version of the glasses is the aspect I would use the most. It’s reality except you can have dragons and stuff like that roaming around.
