Prelude to Darkness
[The day has darkened, the sky is black. The local villages have complained about a strange black plague tormenting their crops. A call for wandering people to solve this case has been made, and a horse drawn wagon has come to a street with a ragged old man at the head, beckoning people to come and solve this spreading corruption. A sign on the sides offers glory, fame, and gold for aspiring heroes, and asks for all those who are interested to stop the carriage and ask to enter the vehicle that will bring them to the source.]
A young man with brown hair and monotone clothes with a strange blue stain on the center of his shirt enters the village with a surprised look on his face. He felt as if he had traveled back in time or to another country with how old fashioned everything was in this village. Well, this is strange...even for a dream... Quintus approaches the carriage with a skeptic but indifferent expression. Well, might as well see what's going on. Not like I'm in any real danger anyway. Quintus boards the carriage unaware of any real threat that may present itself to him.
Hmm.... sounds like another romp with otherworldly beings.... Guess I don't have much else to do though.... Kotori enters the carriage, sitting on the most comfortable seat
A superbly average individual comes to answer the recent advertisements. They look at the old carriage, and nearly turn away.... That's when they read the sign and go running into the carriage, setting themselves beside Quintus Oh, I see you're another player, huh? Finally, its about time I found something. I've been waiting for an adventure ever since I got this dumb game.
A blonde haired man suddenly appears in the carriage "Aspiring heroes, eh?"
Quintus looks curiously at the Ride Player but seems to be slightly amused by their words. Game? I guess you could call this that. Not sure what to make of most of this though. Pretty weird for a dream and the weirdest part is how long it feels like its been going on. A game might be pretty accurate though in that case.
"Huh. Didn't expect such a big crowd." [The driver's voice is low and rough. He looks back at his passengers, then down at the blonde haired man.] "Ya comin' too? I can't sit here all night."
Makoto walks into the village curious on how she had ended up here. It was certainly a place she had never expected to end up. What a strange place I've ended up today... Makoto sighs continuing through the village This is what I get for not paying attention where I go on my walks. I've been thinking too much lately. She then arrives at the carriage and reads the sign posted Aspiring heroes huh? Well this certainly seems like a problem to these villagers, I'll see what I can do to help out. She quickly hops on board the carriage and sits down
The individual laughs and puts one arm around Quintus Very funny, I mean, they were pretty exclusive. I'm sure you'd notice if you bought it. They then proceed to sigh and scratch the back of their head Still, its been really hard to find something to start with. Everything I tried to fight was waaaay too high a level. You'd think they would make an indicator or something
"Of course I am." The man's horse, Silver Bullet, comes charging towards Diego right before he jumps on the horse "But I'm going to take my horse there."
Kotori sits and glares at the people in the carrage I'm not gonna have to work with these crazies am I?
A boy in his teens arrives as well, and reads the sign intently before shaking his head. Nah, I got no interest in this. I'm gonna go home. Well, then again...what was that the old man said? Experience, right. I guess adventure comes as part of the whole supernatural thing, huh? Plus I could use the cash. The boy nods and hops inside the wagon with a smirk. Looks like he's talked himself into joining.
Quintus is a bit freaked out that someone put their arm around him but he quickly gets over it. He looks out the window of the carriage and watches the villagers running around and doing chores. Some games are like that. All you can really do is keep trying until your able to make progress. He gives Kotori a side glance with slight annoyance in his eyes. At least I'm not dressed as some weird cosplayer like everyone else here.
Ooc: I'll be taking over for now! Your regularly scheduled GM will be back later! [The man grunts and scratches the back of his neck, shrugging and pulling on the reins of the horses] Suit yourself.. just follow behind alright? Don't take any other routes or your going to get lost. Now, hold on... it's not exactly a pleasant ride. [The horses drawing the carriage then spring to life and begin to trot along the road, up ahead is a thick dark forest, the road is extremely narrow, the carriage almost doesn't fit through the small pathway, dark vines poke out and scrape against the sides, the man then croaks and turns to the party] So, if you got any questions I can try to answer them, I dont know much but I can try to help.
The superbly average individual raises their hand and shouts out to the man up front What level are these encounters supposed to be and how much loot do I get from beating them?
Quintus absentmindedly looks out the window as he observes the forest. Something about a dark forest disturbed him greatly though as his expression shifted to one of despair. Uh, why is it so dark here? Is this becoming a nightmare or something. I've had enough nightmares for a while.
Smirks, and asks in a sarcastic tone And do we get resurrective immortality during this quest? Ahahahaha!
Silver Bullet and Diego start following the carriage then Diego raises his hand "I have one, what is even going on anyway?"
Makoto observes the dark forest around and the other passengers on carriage Seems like this will be quite the journey. she looks down and smiles It will be a fun experience for me thats for sure...but this forest is definitely creepy....almost unsettling.
Turns to Makoto and laughs If it's anything other than the last creepy forest I went to, we're all gonna go insane and kill ourselves over and over again until we win. Sounds like plenty of fun. Hehehe
[The man gives a strange look to the rider before replying, twiddling his fingers] I don't know what a level is but for actual loot you'll have to ask the Lord of the Hamlet, he's the one requesting for heros, I'm just a wagon carrier. [Turning towards Quintus and the blonde haired man he replies] Not many people know why exactly this is happening, these forests used to be green and lush with wildlife, now it's simply a maze of rabid animals, some say it's a disease, some say it's retribution for our sins, who knows, it's your job to find out. [Finally he responds to Kotori, frustration in his voice] Don't play games with me, I don't exactly want to be here right now, I'd rather be at home near the fire.
makoto laughs nervously at Kotori's remark Oh yeah...plenty of...fun. she closes her eyes and thinks to herself. "Maybe getting on this carriage was a mistake tonight" she sighs Hopefully we won't have to do that, right?
Lowe sarcastically nods in agreement to what the man is saying, and looks up at the sky. Oh, wonderful. Never been good with animals. Whatever, so you're saying that this is an issue for the locals? If so, then count me in, loot or no loot.
"Sounds dangerous."
The rider nods along, and laughs Yeah, I guess an NPC wouldn't know what those are. Still, I hope the quest-giver can at least tell me how much experience I'll get. That much is typical in RPGs
[The man nods at Lowe, off in the distance you can hear a rancid cry, so loud it pieces your eardrums before going silent] Yes, it's definitely a problem, people are starting to get agitated, no wonder why. Of course its going to be dangerous, nothing you can't handle though right? NPC? L-look, I'm just doing my job, I don't need you sputtering out witch craft.
"I can handle almost anything, old man."
OH come on, with a setting like this? Witches are TOTALLY a character class. They seem to have been a bit delayed in noticing the distant cry, after speaking the rider looks out the carriage window Uhhhhh.... What was that? Bet you its the first boss. Its Definitely the first boss
Heh. Fun for the whooooole family! Kehehehe. Kotori grins, obviously amused by Maloto's nervousness, before laughing even harder at Unnamed and the stagecoaches conversation
(edited by Kotori_K)
Quintus looks slightly worried as the cry sounds. He looks around outside the carriage from the window before turning his head down and staring at his own legs. Uh... I'm getting a little freaked out. I hate nightmares like this...
Lowe pumps his fist, and seems to be hyping himself up. Come on guys, get with it! We've got people to help, so get it together, can't have you guys slowing me down.
Yeah! Let's go save some people we don't care about and will never matter! Yay! She mimics Lowe mockingly
The Rider chuckles and mutters under their breath yep, lets save anyone... Hehe... I found another NPC
Makoto is amused by Lowe's self hype and her nervousness slowly starts to go away Hes right, she starts to quietly talk to herself. Can't start getting nervous now. I have to be prepared to help out anytime, I can't back down now. Makoto clenches her fist and smiles I'm ready for this.
Quintus just kind of gives Lowe a side glance. He doesn't look very motivates but seems to give him a thumbs up anyway. Sure, whatever you say, guy I don't know.
[The man then seems to break into a cold sweat, his eyes twitching, looking into the darkness, unnerved by Kotori] Classes? You took witch classes? Wh... you know what... p-perhaps we should stop talking, I think that's a good idea, you think it's a good idea too right? RIGHT?!?? [The man starts to breathe heavily as out in the distance a bang rings out, the horses carrying the party then drop dead, the carriage stops and 3 people clad in green step out, one of them carries a musket, the other one carries 2 daggers covered in blood, and the final one is a hulking brute carrying a bloody whip] B-bandits!?! What do I do... what do I do....
Finally! Stuff to kill! Kotori grabs her sword and jumps out of the carriage to meet the bandits
Quintus' eyes widen for a moment as he stands up in the carriage. He looks around expectantly. Uh, someone's gonna do something about this, right? I'm not exactly the fighting type normally...
(edited by Quintus_Geminus)
"I've got this! THE WORL-" Knives from out of nowhere appear right in front of the bandits and fly towards them
ooc: And thus, the snake takes the stage once more. [The trio approaches the carriage. The one with the musket sweeps the gun's muzzle around, aiming at each person as if sizing them up. The other two step to the front, with the massive bandit brandishing his whip threateningly.] [Looks like it's all up to you to deal with them. Good luck, you may need it.]
Lowe hops out, and waves to the men. So, you gonna just let us go on? No, is the correct answer I assume. Still, if you want to walk away with your ribs intact I'd suggest taking a hike.
ooc: Note: I shall "update" once everyone has posted, and will include the actions of those that posted before my little return.
Makoto grabs her knuckles and steps off the carriage sighing Well, it seems we are doing this aren't we? She gets into a fighting stance I suppose you aren't just going to let hs through, so, we will be forcefully getting you out of our way!
The Rider laughs with glee as he rolls out of the carriage. They hold a small, silver device in their left hand, and hit a button twice, this causes the unit to announce [Gashatto] [ Enter the Game! Ri-Riding the End!] After a brief sequence, what stands before the group is a bulky, almost cartoonish suit of brown, black, and silver armor. Wasting no time, the rider charges the bandit with a musket, and attempts to kick them Alright, I know how these boss fights work. The big guy's the boss, so we need to clear out his mooks first to make him less threatening, then gang up on it. standard RPG stuff.
Eiji can be heard in the distance, running after the carriage. "W-Wait! Hold on!" As the carriage stops Eiji smiles, relieved. "At least I'll be able to catch up now!"
(I guess you can just ignore the knives) *Diego instantly appears behind the bandits* "Heheheh." *A yellow fist punches one of the bandits in the back of the neck*
Well, here goes nothing I guess... Makoto takes a breath and starts to charge towards a bandit with a dagger and punches them several times
[Kotori's blade slices through the large bandit with ease, and they grunt and stumble back. They seem to take the blow pretty well, though, and smack Kotori with their weapon. She's bleeding pretty badly.] [Despite his size, the largest bandit dodges the knives, but the others are struck.] [The musket-weilding bandit stumbles back, stunned by the kick.] [The bandit with the daggers rushes towards Makoto. They slice upward, then kick her to knock her away, although they are hit with a strong punch just as their kick connects.] ooc: Well... I updated with the knives in mind, so *shrug*
(edited by Hundred-S)
Quintus steps out of the carriage after hesitating for a while. He stands and watches the fighting going on with a distraught look on his face. He's shaking slightly, even if this may be a dream fighting violence wasn't something he was comfortable with. Is this violence really necessary? All this effort just for a bit of money?
(That punch attack can be my next attack)
(edited by -Diego_Brando-)
Geh!..... Tch! Gonna wish that had killed me! She rushes to the large bandits back, swinging her sword up, hoping to hit him from behind
Lowe sighs, and smirks at the bandits. Alright, don't say I didn't warn ya. Lowe tears the cloth off his arm, and light emits from the wounds it was concealing. He throws his arm into the air, and what appear to be railroad spikes rise out of portals in the ground and zoom toward the large bandit. Taurus Cluster, one!
As Eiji happens upon the group, he takes into account that one group is significantly larger than their opposition. Hey, I don't know what's going on, but you can hardly call this a fair fight! Eiji strikes out to stop whomever he's nearest to's attack.
Makoto dodges the knife just enough that it cuts her clothes and gives her a minor cut causing her to start to bleed. The bandits kick connects knocking her backwards causing her to stumble but quickly regain her balance Y-You're pretty strong... She then looks at Quintus I'm more doing this to help than money, thats just an added bonus...now then. She pulls out her gun and points it at the bandit she had just attacked. She then sends out three shots towards the bandit
Alright, lets keep this up. The bulky rider flips a lever on their belt, causing it to proclaim [Gacchan] After flipping another switch, the belt announces once more [Level Up!] [Rider Chronicle!] A short transformation sequence turns their bulky brown armor into a much sleeker, more humanoid version of it. They proudly finish their transformation and..... Run into Eiji Hey!! What do you think you're doing? I'm just playing the game, its their fault for designing an encounter like this.
[The unnamed player scolds Eiji, who has just attempted to stop Makoto's attack. She still gets to fire her gun, but her aim is so off that the bullets hit a nearby tree instead.] [The knife-wielding bandit takes this chance to stab at Makoto, but their attack just barely misses her face.] [Kotori's attack slashes open the large bandit's back, leaving a nasty cut. They whirl around and lash at her again, striking her across the chest. This distraction allows Lowe's attack to hit the bandit with full force.] [The bandit with the musket is struck by the fist, but barely keeps his concentration and shoots Diego at point-blank range.] [Poor Quintus is drowned out by the shouting and gunshots.]
(edited by Hundred-S)
Quintus is stunned for a second by the sound of gunfire but begins slowly approaching the fight. His legs are visibly shaking but he continues walking forward with a fearful look. C-can't we just stop this! I-I'm sure that this is just some kind of mistake or miscommunication!
*Another yellow fist punches the musket ball back towards the bandit*
[Unfortunately, the bullet hits the fist for a surprising amount of damage. It seems the abilities of The World are... reduced in this strange place.]
Makoto's eyes widen as the knife passes her faces. She quickly jumps back and looks at Eiji with a furious look Hey, what did you do that for!? I had a clear shot, and what you just pulled almost got me hurt! she takes a deep breath Listen, these guys came out of the woods stopping our carriage from progressing. They came out bloodied and all, they obviously didn't pop out to have a conversation. So, if you are here to help...help us! She quickly gets into a defense stance to defend herself from any oncoming attacks
A-Ah! I'm really sorry! Here let me help! Eiji jumps at the bandit's knife, hoping his time spent fighting hasn't dulled with the brief period of peace he came to know. I'm sorry about this, but you can't just go around hurting other people!
Grr! Fine! I'll actually try! Kotori infuses her blade with lightning and slashes at the large bandits flank Charges: 3
The Rider, apparently proud of themselves, takes out a small, brown and silver knife and slashes at the largest bandit By the way, I call first pick of the loot. I need it the most.
(edited by UnnamedRidePlayer3)
Lowe smirks, and tries to launch his signature train right toward the big guy, in hopes of finishing him off. Try this one on for size, big guy!
A man wearing sunglasses on his face and a red coat slung over his shoulders walks out from behind a nearby tree. "Geez. I know things are finally revving up lady, but watch where you're aiming." With a scoff the man would begin walking towards the fight. "Alright! I won't be left in the dust!" The man grabs a large green device from his coat and fastens it to his waist. He'd then take off his sunglasses and clip them onto the collar of his shirt before pulling a small black cartridge from his pocket and placing it into the green device. Gashatto! "Gear 0. Henshin." With that he would pull the large pink handle on the device and a large selection of portraits would appear around the man. With speed an accuracy, he would perform a spin kick and select a portrait. Level up! Bakusou Bike! A large screen would pass over him and alter his appearance. "Alright! Let's rev it up!" The man gets into a fighting stance and waits for an opening.
[The largest bandit, despite his bulk, can barely stand after the onslaught of slashes. By some miracle, he manages to step out of the way of the train, and lashes at Lowe. The strike itself does decent damage, although the weapon's sharpness makes Lowe bleed quite a lot.] [It may have been just the surprise factor, or perhaps the gods of fate smiled on Eiji. He knocks the bandit down and snatches their knife. With few other options, they panic and flee...] [Seeing his comrade run, the musket-wielding bandit curses and limps after them.]
"Gah! T-The hell?" *Diego fires six revolver shots at the bandit*
(edited by -Diego_Brando-)
Gaaah! Revenge Bitch! Kotori slashes vertically, unleashing the lightning from her blade in a mighty swing Charges: 0/Revert
(edited by Kotori_K)
the rider, brave as they are, immediately runs after the musket-toting bandit Hey, get back here!!! I need to kill you so you can drop loot. That's how it works. COME AND FIGHT ME
Lowe holds the spot where he was slashed, and looks at his blood-covered hand. His breathing is shaky as he speaks. N-never...get used to seeing that. He seems too engrossed in this to act.
Quintus seems taken aback. He looks down with a distraught look as he sighs. W-well, that was something...
Eiji rushes to grab the collar of the rider. They've learned their lesson! We have people who got hurt in that fight, and we need to take care of them!
[The former knife bandit falls from the gunshots, disappearing into the bushes. His friend, however, is spared that fate due to Eiji, and successfully flees.] [The electricity strikes the large bandit, and the fearsome foe finally collapses, leaving everyone with the dark forest and a trembling driver. The path ahead is quiet and clear.]
Makoto takes a deep breath and sighs Well then..it seems we are done with that. It was an...experience to remember. she then turns to the driver Are you ok? Were you hurt at all during the fight?
"Hey big guy! Here comes the finisher." After calling to the remaining bandit, the man would pull the cartridge from his belt and place it in another slot on small device on the left of his waist. Pressing the button on said device would create a motorcycle in front of the man in the image of his Rider form...however by this point the man is defeated. With a sigh the man closes the pink part of his belt and reverts to normal, causing the bike to disappear. "Well that's what I get for being too flashy." Noticing the injured Lowe, he would run over. "Hey! Are you alright?"
The rider is jerked back by Eiji, and begins grumbling Geeze, you make it sound like they're supposed to be real people or something. It was just a standard encounter, how am I supposed to get EXP if I'm not allowed to defeat them? Unless running counted..... The rider checks their wrist, as though hoping something would be there Man, this game feels really rushed. I can't even seem to find a menu.
N-no... I... I'm fine... [The old man's shaking like a leaf, clearly not fine, but at least he's not dying anytime soon.] We should hurry... Before some creature comes...
Lowe sighs, and looks at the driver. He gives a forced-looking smile and a thumbs up as he makes his way back to the cart.
Anyway... With the horses dead, we'll have to go on foot... Get anything you brought along in the cart. [He shakily gets to his feet and grabs the lantern hanging on the side of the carriage.]
"*Sigh*" *Diego jumps back onto Silver Bullet*
HA! Teach you to cut me! ............. After calming down a bit, Kotori realizes the damage she's taken ........ I'm hurt...... bad.... ouch.... She removes her shirt and tries to cut the midriff off to use as a large bandage to stop the bleeding, replacing the torn sweater on herself
(edited by Kotori_K)
Looking around at everyone the man puts his arms through the sleeves of his coat. "Some creature, huh? Looks like I was right in following you guys."
Creature? Are there monsters here too? Is nowhere safe anymore!? I guess if there's a threat, then it's my job to protect those who could get hurt.
Quintus stands close to the lantern carrying old man not wanting to be in the dark too long. He's still visibly shaking though it's hard to tell if it's from the cold or from fear. Let's just get going already. I don't want to be here any longer. This place disturbs me.
The Rider watches Kotori perform first aid. They remain silent for a moment, before turning away I change my mind. This game no longer sucks. Now then, lets get moving!!! I can't wait to get our quest started.
Standing up, Kotori looks to the stagecoache Well? Guess we're walking... She seems slightly tired
"Luckily for me, I still have my horse."
[The old man nods slowly, and shuffles forward, leading the way with his light.] [After a few minutes of walking, the group notices some discarded objects on the side of the road. They seem to be two sacks of... something. Perhaps a traveler dropped these? They could investigate, or move on to the clearing at the end of the path.]
In true adventurer fashion, the Rider immediately runs over to the stash Finders Keepers, I got here first. Besides, SOMEONE still owes me for not letting me loot the bandits.
Quintus moves in to investigate without saying a word. He shuffles through the object to find anything useful. Let's see...
Seeing Unnamed rush towards what looks like an obvious trap, Kotori draws her blade
"Be careful, it could be a trap."
makoto reaches out for the two Hey wait gu- and they are already over there...well, lets just hope they find something good...
Eiji, having honed his instincts after his years of travel, stands at a distance. I'd be careful searching through those... this place may seem pretty old, but I've seen traps such as these before... It wasn't pleasant...
[The poor kleptomaniac finds nothing in his sack. A few stray crumbs and some nearby animal tracks hint at the culprit.] [Quintus is much luckier, and finds the golden gleam of coins in his sack.]
The man rolls his head and cracks his neck. "I don't like this. Be careful." His eyes begin darting left and right as he watches for any movement from beyond the group.
Quintus pockets the coins as he returns to the group. Not sure what kinda place accepts gold coins as currency but I'll hang onto them just in case. Never know what to expect in a dream.
Lowe nods to Lazer's advice, and keeps his eyes darting around his surroundings as he motions for the man to keep moving forward.
The rider looks at the animal tracks, and pauses for a moment. Before running in the direction of the tracks Small animals? Not the epic confrontation I was expecting, but I'm getting something out of this journey dammit.
"Strange, why would someone leave two sacks out here for no reason?"
(edited by -Diego_Brando-)
"Hey! Don't go off on your own!" The man sighs. "And what's this about a dream?"
They probably dropped- oi, lad, get back here! It's not safe! [The old man's shouts fall on deaf ears. He sighs and looks at the end of the path.] I'm not risking my life for him. I'm going on ahead. Hold on... [He fumbles for his bag, and pulls out a long stick, lighting it with a match.] If any of you want to be heroes and run after him, at least take this torch. Now then... [After someone takes it, he will turn and go towards the forest's exit.] --- [The tracks lead to a small hole in the ground. Yet it's almost as if the player is being watched in the pitch-black area...]
(edited by Hundred-S)
*Diego takes the torch from the man* "I guess I'll take it."
I ain't sticking my neck out for Game-boy. He ran off alone, he can deal with it alone.... Kotori follows the stagecoach driver
The player, proud of themselves for actually following the animal tracks, get down on the ground and reaches into the hole Come on you little jerk, gotta be hiding something in here. You know what they say, "check anything and everything". Oh, yeah, and if you would be kind enough to come out here, probably worth some Experience.
Eiji hesitates, but decides to stay with the Old Man. He should be safe, especially if he has backup, but I should protect you just in case.
[The old man nods, then leads his group of ragtag adventures to the end of the path.] [The dark infested forest has opened up, and around are multiple ruined buildings. Whatever happened to them happened a long time ago, although nobody bothered to fix the damage. The old man heads towards what appears to be a boarded-up inn.] --- [No response. Heavy breathing comes from the shadowy forest.]
OOC: Gotta dip for now! 'Pologies!
*Diego gets off of Silver Bullet right before the horse runs somewhere* "Alright then." *He follows the player*
Kotori looks around for anything that could be used for first aid in the village
(edited by Kotori_K)
OOC: I think I'll depart for the time being as well. My mind is growing hazy at the moment.
ooc: Goodnight you two, I must sleep as well. The co-GM shall take over.
OOC: I too will be taking my leave for now. Its getting late and I need to finish up some things
OOC: Sorry! I have to leave as well!
[As Kotori investigates the Hamlet, she finds a tall building with a nurse outside, she seems to be carrying a bucket of red liqud, as she dumps it into a hole] --- [As Diego and the Ride Player group up, 3 rabid dogs burst out from the bushes, snarling and barking at the duo, they seem to be missing flesh from their bodies as they have exposed bones] Ooc: seeya! Rest is important!
ooc: In that case, perhaps it's best to put this off till tomorrow. Although we can certainly finish up the surprise sidequest tonight And Kotori can certainly still explore the hamlet!
(edited by Hundred-S)
............ Oh no..... I'm in for some Medieval Death treatment, aren't I? Despite her fear, she gets herself treated at the Nurse
*Diego looks at the dogs in disgust* "Are those supposed to be dogs?!"
OOC: Feeling out of it myself, I'll keep an eye on this but I'm out for the time being
THe ride player, upon hearing the dogs, backs up behind Diego and pulls out his knife. In an instant, the weapon seems to shift and turns into a pistol of sorts, barrel going down the blade. The Rider fires a single shot at the nearest dog Alright, lets see if I can find something this time.
[To Kotori's suprise the nurse seems to smile at the new patient, pulling out a set of bandages and stiches] I suppose you are the new hero? Did you get ambushed on the way here? Don't worry, we have alot of experience with injuries and sickness, just tell me where it hurts. -- [One of the dogs, sensing their hesitation jump out at them, biting Diego's arm, leaving a nasty gash, blood seeps from the wound as it drips onto the floor] [The Rider fires a shot at one of the dogs and it seems to fall over dead almost instantly, he must have hit a critical spot] [The remaining dog stands away from the duo, slightly frightened by the weapon it prances around]
*Diego grabs his arm in pain* "Grr. THE WORLD!" *Time is stopped*
The rider proclaims in triumph Finally, something more my level. This'll be a pie- At this point, DIego stops time, interrupting the Rider's victory cry, whenever time resumes -ce of cake. Now then, here I go!!! Seeing how well their previous shot went, the Rider attempts another, this one on the dog coweringg in the rear.
*In stopped time, THE WORLD punches both of the dogs in the necks, then time resumes*
[The Rider's shot hits an exposed leg bone, crippling the cowering dog, it then lashes out and runs at the ride player, attempting to tackle him and then scratch his torso with sharp claws and ferocious fangs] [However due to the time stop and getting getting punched by Diego the two remaining dogs fall back, spitting up a red gem before they run back into the dark forests, disappearing]
like a well-trained catcher, the Rider dives towards the gem in order to catch it Aha!!! I knew this was an encounter. That's the only reason an animal has to be carrying jewelry. Now we can get this game started. Edit: OOC: You can't hide what you did from me. Though you can delete your post, you'll never delete my heart
(edited by UnnamedRidePlayer3)
Yeah..... got some bad cuts.... *Removes the makeshift bandage* You aren't going to stick leeches on me are you? (Oh no!)
(edited by Kotori_K)
*He stares at the gash in his arm."
[The ride player gets a gem! However, finding the loot is just the first test, now it must be carried home] [Diego checks the gash on his arm, it's bad, but he'll live, lucky there was no disease] -- Leaches? No no no, those are for sickness, you aren't sick are you? You just need a few bandages and you'll be fine. [The nurse then dips the bandages in alcohol, sterilizing them hopefully and applying them onto the wounds, they sting from the acidity but it does help]
Gh!..... thanks..... Remind me to not come here for diseases though..... Kotori thanks the nurse, and explores the village
*Diego shrugs it off and gets back on Silver Bullet*
The Rider laughs triumphantly before looking around the forest That was fantastic, you should have seen it, they pracitcally cowered before my might. now then for the..... After a moment the Rider notices something..... Aside from the hole this stretch of woods is unfamiliar to him. Probably should have paid attention while running. So...... Blonde guy.... You know what direction we need to go?
*Diego looks over at the Rider* "I was following you, so no."
In that case, only one thing to do. Its an RPG, so there's going to be either a boundary, or another area at some point. and with that, the Rider picks a completely random direction and walks in it, heedless of any signs of danger.
Suddenly, Kotori has the sudden urge to facepalm
[As Kotori looks over the village she notices a few buildings in particular, the aforementioned inn, a blacksmith, a guild hall, and finally 2 buildings atop of hills, one seems to be a giant mansion while the other is a church] -- [As the ride player and Diego search the twisting vines, the shadows seem to creep in, the torch is beginning to lose it's light]
(edited by The_Curator)
Kotori makes her way to the mansion
*He looks at the torch while following the Rider* "Hey, the torch is starting to burn out."
The Rider shrugs and continue onwards I was doing just fine without a torch. Snuff it out, save the last bit for later if you want. No big deal for me. Though, I guess its light makes it easier to find treasure....
"Oh right, I have matches." *He pulls out a pack of matches and lights a match*
[As Kotori reaches the hill of the Mansion a guard approaches and stops her, the guard however isn't very vigilant, he's slouching and his eyes have huge black bags, as he mumbles] Halt... your the new adventuer aren't you? I haven't seen you around before, look, for now the Lord isn't accepting visitors, he's very busy doing whatever he does, he'll come find you when he's ready. -- [As the pair continue to search within the twisting passageways, the road only gets darker and darker, white glowing eyes seem to stare at them in the darkness, rustling can be heard behind them, however when they look they can't see anyone, further down however they find a mangled corpse, it's unrecognizable weather it's human or beast, perhaps both] [The matches don't do much in the pitch black forest, only allowing them to see each other]
What does one with little common sense and a desire for loot do wen they find a rotting corpse? Why loot it of course. THe Rider gets down near the body, they don't seem too bothered by its disgusting nature, and set about their grim business Sure is getting dark here. But hey, loot is loot. Can't really complain I suppose.
Wow. Invites us to almost certain death, then denies us at the door..... great man.... Kotori heads to the inn
*He stares at the corpse* "..."
[Upon investigating the corpse a glint of gold shines within the mess of gore and flesh, however when the Ride Player grabs onto said glint, a sharpned piece of bone spikes them in the arm, causing a nasty wound, however he does manage to grab a sack of coins] [As Diego sits idly, he hears a whisper in his ear, telling him about unspeakable horrors that they have witnessed, this dark place must be haunted] -- [As Kotori heads to the inn she can see the Wagon Man in the back, nursing an amber drink as he pours his life story to the barkeep, other than him there is another person wearing a dark robe with a hood, staring at a set of dice]
Suspicious dice guy....... Whatever..... Kotori gets a room
The rider seems surprised to find actual, real life blood, but shrugs and decides not to let it bother him They weren't kidding when they called this game realistic. I can practically feel it. Well, there's nowhere to go but onward. Satisfied with ignoring their wound, the Rider stands back up and continues walking I've been playing this game for only a few hours and i'm honestly having so much fun right now.
*He hears the whispers* "W-What?"
[Kotori has obtained "Room"! It's cramped with only a bed and a small desk, used for storing clothes and other trinkets and things, but its better than sleeping in the forests] -- [Pressing forward the Ride Player meets a crossroad, either left or right, on the right is the the toppled carriage and more pathaways, however on the left is a clearing, perhaps the exit?] [The voices continue to fill Diego with dread, a seething shadow wrecks his mind as the world around him begins to spin, boogeymen seem to reach out for him only to disappear at the last second]
The Rider, totally oblivious to their partner's condition, shrugs and heads for the clearing Its starting to get late. Hopefully we'll be able to make it to... Whatever town is next and I can save there. Or maybe it autosaves? I dunno, this game is weird
Kotori rests in her room
"This isn't a game."
[Rest! Kotori feels refreshed!] [As The Ride Player enters the town he sees all the buildings, including the inn!] [The whispers instantly becomes cured upon leaving the forbidden forest] (Right, I'm gonna call it here for today! See you later!)
