What kind of gamer are you?
What do you like, how casual or serious, and what consoles do you have or prefer? I've always been a PC gamer due in part to emulation. I was 10 years behind the curve for the longest time. When PS2 was the newest console, I had discovered SNES via emulation for the first time. I gradually did move inti consoles, I bought a 3DS for Pokemon Y (I had played all the others via emulation) but soon found other games I liked more, like Fire Emblem Awakening and Fates. Past emulation I've come to greatly enjoy all the GTA games as well for PC, especially since I did finally upgrade my computer. I also bought a PS3 half a year ago at a yard sale and got into Persona via 5, games like Assassin's Creed and many others I haven't gotten to yet. But I'm pretty casual overall. I dislike things like achievements in games and trophies and usually turn those off, and I only play wgar interests me, both in series, individual games, and consoles. I judge on a case by case basis only. Because of emulation and GTA, my favorite genres are both RPGs and third person games, generally mostly open world with action, not just shooters. Share yours!
The good kind PC is bae, PS2 and 3DS are also gud Wii is still the console I have the most games on Gonna get a Switch for SMT 5 Though Also Fire Emblem
im a filthy casual, though I do play some hardcore Darkest Dungeon here and there, achievement hunting I rarely do, but when I do it I 'attempt' to track all achievements. My favorite genres would have to be RPGs and shooters.
I'm pretty casual, although I'm trying to get into the competitive side of some things. Mainly Pokémon and (someday) a fighting game. I mainly have Nintendo consoles, and own every Playstation but 4. The DS and 3DS are my most-used ones. RPGs are my favorite, partially since I'm a nerd when it comes to numbers and whatnot.
I say that I'm more than casual but I definitely don't game as much as I used to nor do I try to 100% complete a game or set goals for myself in said game. Once I beat a game that's it. I may go back to it every now and then but usually by the time I beat a game I'm bored of it and I'm already looking for a new one to play. That being said I started out on a console that was older than me like most gamers. The console or well consoles I started out on was the SNES, Sega Genesis, N64, Ps1, Dreamcast, and Gameboy color. My dad is a collector so he saw consoles as a collectors item so that's why I had so many consoles growing. But my first actually console that was mine and apart of my generation was the original xbox. Then 2 years later the xbox 360. I prefer Xbox but I always try finding away to get other consoles too. I eventually got a Wii, gamecube, and ps2 not to long after my 360 for criminally cheap prices. Obviously I have a ps4 now too because I wouldn't be on the phan-forums for persona 5. The types of games I usually play are FPS and open world games but I'm always up for change and I usually prefer single player games

That's a good detail to add. I replay games I like quite a lot. I've played most GTA games more than necessary. That's also a big factor into buying something, it has to have a replay factor, and I don't mean in-game mechanics that add upon replaying (they don't hurt though) but just in general appeal to me, that I can easily get back into it, like a great movie or so that I can come back to and not lose interest.
Personally, I'm a fan of RPG games. The stories engross me a ton.
I guess I'm also more into Gameplay than Story. Probably because I was conditionned by Capcom into thinking "As long as it's fun, it's the only thing that counts". That's the main reason I hate Strange Journey but I love IV Apocalypse.
I love the shit out of RPGs. They make up half of my game collection. I'd say I am a console gamer, who slightly uses PC, and I am semi-serious about gaming. I love getting trophies, as they feel like I accomplished something. I do have to agree with GTA being an astounding game though. I've beaten it too many times.
I love getting trophies, as they feel like I accomplished something. This is why I dislike them, honestly. Like people need an excuse or validation for their hobbies. "I accomplished something", this would only be true if it was warranted, even though I've found most games give you trophies for no real accomplishment than just playing the game. Example: there's a P5 trophy of "Acquire the Persona Arsene" All you do up to that point is hit X and walk around. You can never NOT get Arsene, and 100% of people who play it do. It's wholly automated. Why the hell is THAT a trophy? Stuff like that I hate. Like do people really need mindless stimulation and encouragment with prizes just to keep playing? The game and story just aren't enough?

Console gamer since the beginning. Started with Sega Genesis, later PS2 and much later Nintendo. I was never the biggest Nintendo Fan, till I discovered Zelda Fire Emblem and Kid Icarus. I am more A Sega and PlayStation person though. Mostly I am playing Rpgs , fighting Games or dance games . Oh and I never owned a Xbox, only played that at my sisters place. And I am more the speedrun player and explore once I complete a game.

i like shitty games from walmart i can find on sale for $1. really though, im picky the graphics have to appeal to me and the gameplay has to be fun and I'll play it.
I just realized how much of an insane perfectionist I am with games too. Not in gather achievements or anything, but just in wanting to see/do/play everything I possibly can, as best as I can. If given the opportunity to grind, I will always do so far more than needed, I EV-IV trained all my Pokemon when I was on emulators and couldn't even battle anyone, and playing beat-em-up games (my current one beating Bayonetta), I will replay past chapters longer than it takes most people to beat the whole game, just because I want to keep practicing and mastering it. I suppose I'm casual in regard that I don't play much, but I get very obsessive and intense when it comes to personal goals.
