You kids and your new fangled phantom thieves. Back in my day we didn't have any fancy anti-shadow organizations. We just had a group of teenagers who had to fight demons with whatever they could. You have it too easy these days with getting personas. I remember when someone had to work hard to get their personas. You weren't just handed them or easily able to negotiate with them into joining you. You had to talk to demons with 5 unique personality types that mixed into a variety of combinations and every party member could negotiate! Even if you did negotiate properly you still only got a "spell card" which had to be exchanged for a persona later on. You damn kids and you newfangled persona games...
P.S. This is a joke.
P1 had a "meh" story with a way too high to be appreciable encounter rate, although it's at least not as cancerous as SMT 1, and P2 has aged so badly you'd need to play those before the newer ones if you seek enjoyment out of those.
I like all the games equally. I have no favoritism really in regards to gameplay. The only game I'd have any complaints for is Persona 3's forced auto controlled party which was later changed in Persona 3 portable anyway.
THOSE DAMN PHANTOM THIEVES AND THEIR COMPLEX MECHANICS
I HATE EM
YOU KNOW BACK IN MY DAY LIFE WASNT SO EASY
I COULDNT EVEN CHOOSE MY OWN GUARDIAN
AND IT COULD BE A DETRIMENT AND NOT HELPFUL IN THE SLIGHTEST
I WORKED THROUGH TOUGH TIMES AND PAVED THE WAY TO THOSE PURSE OWNERS AND WHAT DO I GET
NOT EVEN A THANKS
JUST A SHITTY SPOT AS A SIDE CHARACTER SHIPPED WITH SOME ASS' SELF INSERT
I can't say much about P1, having never finished or even gotten far in it. But I can say that in spite of the gameplay aging poorly? P2 has by far my favorite story and characters, I like how the cast had an actual history and weren't quite random people meeting for the first time. One thing I'll say about both of them, not having the MC be the only who changes Personas seems better imo. MC is always a special snowflake but Wildcard just takes that and runs all the way. I won't go into too much detail, but suffice to say I strongly disagree Shadowgear.
I sure do love the dating sim genre and I feel persona best exemplifies it.
P3 is obviously the best choice by far since you can date a dog.
Yet P2 is slightly redeemed for allowing you to flirt with demons and sunglasses Adolf.
In comparison to the previous date options p4 and p5 just plain suck. P4 especially for giving me a needy fox bitch and no money for child support.
Powers are too easy on these new types! They don't have to even fight to survive! They just choose when to fight and when not to with their damn TV worlds, dark hours, and metaverses! Back in my day there was no choice but to fight as demons were literally everywhere!
I've only played Revelations. Its flawed in some ways and its to old in Jrpg tropes(Which is why I like personal 3-5) but I think its a good game still
I must say that P2 is one of the best, most well-crafted Fan-games I've ever seen, its too bad no one will ever solve the mystery of why the real persona games began counting at three
P2 is fun! If you have something to distract yourself with, the gameplay drones on as you can't react to enemy attacks right off the bat, fusion spells are the coolest things though,
Eichiki is best boi
