Of Snowglobes and Snowbirds
Far off from human buildings, yet still able to be seen from a distance, a mountain of ice looms over the edge of a road. One could almost compare it to a castle, with its cave-like entrance and majestic pillars. A gentle icy breeze flows outwards, accompanied by snowflakes.
Anyone with an eye for detail would notice intricate patterns lining the outside of the structure. They're so smooth and deliberate that it's impossible that these are natural. A wing-like symbol sits on either side of the entrance.
(A bump, perhaps hasty of me, but who knows if it will result in reward?)
OOC:I guess I can join.Though not for long.If this is meant to be a long dungeon then I guess you'd be better off letting this die and remaking it later,the weekend would be the best time.
OOC: I am inclined to disagree, weekends are when I'm stuck at work. But I could join at the moment if you're still up for it!
OOC:I'm just going under the assumption that people in school have free days and those who have to deal with work have their off days then.
ooc: This will certainly go across at least two days, but feel free to join at any time, and at any point.

ooc: A day later than expected due to a last bit of schoolwork before break, here is a bump.
As she walked through the city, a relatively normal day for our young student, Sayaka can't help but notice the castle
That's weird, stuff like that doesn't just pop up overnight.
After a short consideration, Sayaka runs off through the city streets, ultimately reaching the castle. She approaches the structure, and traces one of the wing-like symbols on the sides.
Its actually pretty orderly. Guess someone or somethin' must live here
Eito was walking through the city,a routine for the teen,when he noticed the castle.
"What the hell...?"
It wasn't very difficult to find.
"Well,time to explore!"
Eito walks over and starts examining the symbols for a while before noticing Sayaka there as well.
"Heya."
The ice is cold to the touch. With the natural cold weather, it doesn't seem like it'll melt any time soon. From here, Sayaka can see that the entrance leads into an icy hallway, with a thick layer of snow for the floor.
Sayaka keeps a tight grip on her ring befor.... Oh... She casually looks over at Eito and sighs
Take it you're here for the same reason I am huh? Just plain curiosity. Well, just don't get in my way or anything and we'll be cool.
With a shrug, Sayaka begins to walk down the hallway, keeping an eye out for anything unusual
Eito follows with a casual stride,his eyes orange.
"I know that you and I don't have the best of friendships,but what is it with you and telling me 'Not to get in your way'?"
Eito kicks some snow on the floor as he looks around in slight amazement.
The interior is surprisingly similar to the interior of a fancy castle. Either magic created it, or someone had a lot of time on their hands to carve such an intricate interior. The hall leads into a main room, with a set of stairs on each side of a massive icy orb. Off to the left and right are some other hallways.
"Woah..."
Eito is very impressed.
"Personal problems aside,which way do you wanna go?"
Sayaka sighs and twists her ring as the pair continues down the hallway, she seems rather focused, glancing to the sides, but not pausing to linger on the designs
My job's to protect people, so I'd really rather you try to avoid putting yourself in dangerous situations. I enter them so that normal people, like yourself, don't have to.
Sayaka moves closer to the massive orb, and reaches out to touch it
It almost looks like a globe. Or maybe some kinda egg
*Hey speaking of people getting themselves in dangerous situations, Haruko arrives belatedly and looks up at the elaborate entrance.*
Huh... this wasn't here before... and it even has a snow machine, huh...?
Haruko hears voices echoing down the hall. More people?
After a moment, Sayaka's hand begins to sink into the wall of the ice globe. The spot she touched almost feels like icy water now.
Eito,intrigued by the strange globe,reaches out to touch it as well.
"If it's a globe then it certainly ain't about this place and if it's an egg then I think we just killed it via melting."
"Either way,fun times all around."
Hmm? Are there people inside?
Alright, time to be brave... just like everyone else...
*she takes another look up at the large structure before.... blindly running inside.*
Sayaka retracts her arm when she notices it sinking in... She thinks for a moment. Then looks over to see Eito reaching it
I wouldn't suggest that. Probably somethin' magic. Let me check it out, ok?
Sayaka holds her left palm in front of her, causing the attached silver ring to change shapes into a small, egg-shaped blue jewel. Sayaka grins and focuses on this jewel, before tossing it into the air. The girl jumps to catch the ring before being engulfed in a light-blue light. When the light clears her uniform has been replaced with her Magical Girl outfit, (pfp changed accordingly). She immediately takes a knee, and a deep breath
You probably shouldn't follow me, I'm gonna see if anything's in there, alright?
Without waiting for a response, Sayaka attempts to leap into the sphere
OOC: This free to join?

Eito's hand sinks in a little as well.
It's as easy as jumping into water to enter the sphere. It's really cold, as expected, but still better than jumping into a wall of ice. A tall mountain greets her as some snow-like flakes fly into the air. A small cabin sits about halfway up.
...It should probably be noted that this scene is all underwater.
Haruko gets to see a magical girl jump into a random ice orb. Fun. Neither Eito nor Haruko can see anything inside; the ice is too thick and unclear.
Kotori runs down the hallway into the main room
Gah! I'm late!
Why didn't anyone wake me up?
S-Sayaka-chan?
*Haruko runs over to the spot where she jumped in. Poking at the wall. Has it now become solid?*
W-what was that!?
"Safety?"
"Fuck that."
Eito takes a running start and jumps in.
*Shino dashes in behind Kotori, slightly out of breath*
W-what the heck is this place?
Geez, it's huge...
The snowscape is somewhat like she expected, though it looks a bit less... Surreal than she might have thought. Regardless, Sayaka shakes her head and shivers slightly
Knew I should have brought a coat. Oh well, nothin' for it now.
Around now is when she notices that she seems to be underwater, air bubbles and everything,
she looks down at the gem located directly over her navel, and tries to focus. It might be able to detect something from the leftover magic traces. Regardless of the result, she would begin running towards the cabin
Obviously I'm not gonna learn anything standin' around here
Haruko's finger sinks in, like it's water.
The newcomers are greeted with the icy beauty of the main room. A massive orb sits in the center, with a staircase on either side. Halls lead to the left and right on the first floor.
Eito soon finds himself in icy water, his arrival disturbing some artificial snowflakes. The mountain ahead towers over him.
It's a wonder Sayaka can breathe in this place, but unfortunately, this bizarre area doesn't help with movement much. Running does little, although swimming certainly might. She notices that Eito has, against her warnings, jumped in after her.
*Upon seeing Eito dive in like an idiot, Haruko would just sigh.*
Well, I guess I have two people to keep safe now.
*And then dives in herself. For the people coming after, this sight just gets weirder and weirder.*
Eito looks around in even more amazement.
"Not sure I haven't taken any drugs but i'm not about to complain either way."
Upon spotting Sayaka,Eito starts swimming over.
"Guess what?"
"I came in without heeding your warning!"
Guess everyone's going in.....
Kotori touches both Haruko before she jumps in, and Shino. Enchanting the two and herself with an ice enchantment that should nullify the cold before jumping in herself
Time to go!
Sayaka sighs and looks back over to Eito, before shaking her head and beginning to swim off towards the cabin
So what, you want a cookie or somethin'? Try to keep yourself out of danger so I don't end up having to save you.
Its not like I need the help or anything
"What,did you turn into a Tsundere?"
Eito swims closer at a slightly higher speed.
"Regardless,you don't need to worry about me."
It seems all but one of the group has gone into the underwater, icy world of the orb.
Sayaka approaches the door, which is pushed open by... A bird? It has the shape of a bird, but is made entirely out of ice and snow. Upon seeing Sayaka, it glides over to her and wraps her in its freezing wings.
"Roara, you came back! Come inside, dear! It's been far too long!"
*Shino jumps in with everyone else*
Screw it, it's now or never.
"I am definitely tripping."
Eito starts swimming even faster,reaching Sayaka quickly,though being slightly winded by the action.
Sayaka's eyes open wide as the bird suddenly wraps itself around her. She remains wary, but the cold doesn't seem to bother her much. Instead, she struggles to make her voice heard
Sorry, I think you've got the wrong person. My name's Sayaka Miki, and I'm just here to check things out
Sayaka has stopped responding to Eito, not much she can do if everyone decides to make things more difficult for her
*Looks around in the icy water-filled... globe?*
What the heck, I-Is this some kind of decorative snowglobe?
*She eventually zeroes in on Sayaka's distinctive outfit, swimming as.... effectively as she can toward the Magical Girl and the Cabin.*

Water..... can't swim.....
Upon realizing she's underwater, Kotori enchants herself with wind and jettisons herself back the way she came, hoping to get out
Kotori ends up bashing against a thick ice wall. Can't go out now that she's come in.
Shino's the final one to join the little underwater ice party.
"Don't be like that, Roara! You should know better than to play that same trick on your mother again!" The bird bops Sayaka's nose with the tip of a wing feather. She sweeps Eito and Haruko into her wings. "You'll give your brother and sister strange ideas, too!"
Huh?
*Is abruptly swept up by a snow bird!*
S-Sayaka, what the heck is going on here?
*Shino happens to actually be a decent swimmer, and zeroes in on the cabin*

This honestly isn't the weirdest situation I've found myself in...
This was a mistake......
Kotori looks around, then begins heading for the top of the mountain, trying to avoid the bird thing that's obviously not safe
Since she can't swim, she's using the windto push her along, if the GM would, could you tell me how many charges she would need?
About 1 charge per 30 seconds
Sayaka looks over at Haruko and Eito before calmly taking her right hand and smacking it into her face, really, really hard. For a moment it looks as though her nose might be broken, but in a matter of seconds her face is back to normal
Not you too, WHY is it SO hard for people to just LISTEN TO ME when I tell them not to go places.
With another sigh of frustration, Sayaka tries to push herself out of the mother bird's grasp
And you, I dunno what your deal is, but lets just take a step back and talk to each other normally, ok? That can't be too hard

ooc: I'd say... 1-2 charges? Birb mom isn't too far away.
Listen to you? I walk in to seeing you disappear into a wall, and then this idiot decides to go charging in after you! What was I supposed to do at that point!?
"Sorry lady,last I heard,I wasn't part ice bird."
Eito starts struggling to get out of the bird's grasp,his eyes a dark blue.
"Goddamnit."
He turns to Sayaka,irritated.
"First of all,this is me we're talking about."
"Why you thought you could trust me to stay safe,I don't know."
"Second of all,don't put this shit on me."
"I did not know this was going to happen."
Sayaka sighs and takes a deep breath. For a moment she wonders if this is how Mami felt having to take care of everyone. Sayaka shakes her head
So if you saw me jumping into a Witch's Barrier you'd run after me? If I'm dressed like this, that usually means something bad is happening. The kinda thing I'm trying to protect you from.
Sayaka points her thumb at Eito
As for this idiot, he's not exactly a good role model. Not sure who's worse, him or Kotori.
With that, Sayaka looks back at Eito and sighs
I said "you should stay out here" because, as I have explained SO MANY TIMES, I'm TRYING to keep you from getting hurt. Instead you leap in and drag poor Haruko in too. I'm kinda starting to hope a Witch shows up just so you can finally understand what I'm tellin ya

The icy bird looks almost hurt by her "children's" words.
"You... you must be tired. That's why your memories aren't all right. But don't worry your mother's here now."
She gives Eito a firm peck on the head.
"And watch your language, young man!"
Exactly, he's as bad as Kotori. So it'll take two of us to keep him safe.
That's why I came in here, to keep you two safe.
*She then looks at the bird.*

.... no offense Haruko, but unless Kyubey's nearby, if I end up needing help, there's not much you can do about it.
With a sigh, Sayaka puts one hand under the cape behind her back, in a moment, she has a sword drawn and uses it to lightly poke the mother bird, not to injure them, rather to..... get the POINT across
As for you, could your daughter do that? No offense, but I think being under all this water really got to your head. I'd appreciate it if you let us go now. I really don't want to have to hurt anyone.

"While I won't argue about the idiot part-Mostly because I don't care-I will argue that I didn't drag Haruko in,because she followed me."
Eito struggles further.
"As for keeping me from getting hurt,i'll just tell you it's a pointless endeaveour and ask why you even care."
Looking back up at the bird in clear irritation,Eito's eyes turn red.
"My memory is just bloody fine and I know that this isn't a part of my past."

Assuming she reached the top of the mountain, she's going to try to hide herself, watching the bird and the others
"Let... you go?"
Something seems to click in the ice bird's mind. She narrows her crystalline eyes and attempts to push her "children" towards the open cabin door.
"No, I can't do that. You're here now. I can't let you leave again. Come inside! It's nice and cozy. It might even calm you down, Fenix."
Sayaka immediately ducks and attempts to roll under the bird's wing, further away from the cabin door. She holds her sword in both hands, and points it at the creature
I can't remain here. As a Magical Girl its my job to protect people, everywhere.
Sayaka casts Eito a quick glare... As frustrating as the idiot is
That includes you. So if you'd stop asking me the EXACT SAME QUESTION and instead take a hint. I would really appreciate it if you would stop making my job harder for no reason.
Kotori gets an idea! She busts out of her hiding place and directs her attention to "Mom"
Mommy!
I wanna go play with my sisters!
Can we go play in the outside world?
She'll then wink to the others

Eito takes the same oppurtonity to duck away from the bird.
"But I love making your job harder!"
Eito unsheathes his knives and gets into as good a combative positon as he can underwater.
"Anyway,your hatred being my enjoyment aside,I say we stop fighting just long enought to stop this obvously crazy bird."
"Roara, I'd say you've been reading too many fairy tales. Now how about we..."
The icy bird trails off, looking over at Kotori. She seems to consider this for a second.
"Well... it's hard to get out of here. I can't get out, and I don't think you're able to either right now. But you can certainly play out in this 'snow'! Maybe you'll find that... that... what was it again?"
Her daze is interrupted by Haruko's sudden collapse. She immediately scoops the girl up in her wings and dashes inside. She only briefly pauses to glare at Eito, sending an ice shard at the knife with a flick of her tail feathers.
"Don't you dare talk to your mother like that, Fenix!"

Hearing Kotori and catching on,Eito begrudgingly lets the knife hit by the shard drop and puts the other one back in his jacket.
*Sigh*
"I'm sorry...Mom..."
"It's just that I...Have been...Uh,away for a long while and I just had some..."
"Identity problems."
Eito mutters quietly.
"I swear to god..."
The teen tries his best 'worried' face.
"Is sis okay?"
He walks over to the cabin.

W-wait! I'm fine, see? J-just playing!
Taking Kotori's cue, Sayaka runs into the house after the bird
Wait, is sister ok? I think I can help her. Remember? I've always been good at handling her sickness. Just leave her to me, ok mom?
At this point, she seems to have decided the best option is to simply leave Eito be. He'll find is own way. or not.
"Yes... I... I remember you were good at that. She should be fine if she gets some rest."
The icy bird sets Haruko down on a couch inside, which is more plastic than comfortable. A fireplace sits on one side of the room, but the fire is plastic as well.
"And... that thing I forgot about... It was... something hidden outside the cabin? My memory's been terrible lately..."

Eito continues playing along,promising to himself that upon his release from this acccursed place,he'd eat as much chicken as he could.He walks next to Haruko and turns to Sayaka.
"So,how bad is it Sis?"
"Think you can help her up quickly?"
*Shino moves a little bit closer to the cabin, staying hidden from sight, as quiet as possible*

Sayaka makes a show of bending over Haruko to check her for a fever. Of course its nothing, but she's not gonna mention that. Sayaka turns back to the momma bird and shakes her head
With a fever like this, it'll be best if she can be in the cold for a little while. Let her cool off. I'll make sure to keep her safe.
Sayaka glares at Eito with a huff, sure he's playing along for now. She nods to Eito
Well of course Felix, though I'd appreciate your help. She's a bit weak right now.
Sayaka winks at Haruko
I think I'll need your help taking her somewhere she can cool off.
Eito walks next to Sayaka,whispering to her.
"She called me Fenix.If we're doing this then use the correct names before she figures something out."
Eito leans back and looks at Haruko.
"But yeah,if mom lets us,then of course i'll help."
"Well... It should be somewhere around the mounta-"
A flash of realization dances across her eyes, and the icy bird shakes her head.
"But you shouldn't get any silly ideas about going outside to the castle. I always lose you when you come to visit. You always... you always..."
Her dull stare returns, and she nods to Sayaka.
"Whatever you think is best for her, Roara."
"Roara" Sighs and shakes her head, before looking back to the mother bird in concern
We came back didn't we? I'm sure it'll be fine. I promise you mom, we'll return again. You've just gotta be a little patient with us, ok?
With that, "Roara" moves over to Haruko, lifting one of her arms to put over "Roara"'s shoulder, and nodding for "Fenix" to do the same with the other
Alright, come on. We've got to get her some fresh air for a bit.
If "Fenix" complies, "Roara" would begin carrying Haruko out of the building, waving at their mother as they go.
Of course! I'd never try to leave the castle mommy.
But someone has to take care of the castle, make it look clean, and we can't do that without the thing!
I'll find it! Don't worry!
Kotori then begins to jet herself around the mountain, looking around for anything unusual
'Fenix' smiles and lifts his 'Sister's' arm over his shoulder,briefly waving at their 'Mom'.
"Don't worry mom,we'll be back before you realize it!"
He turns to Haruko.
"Time for some fresh air for you Sis!"
Thanks you two. Yeah, let's get some fresh air...
The mother bird waves goodbye, and the "children" exit the cabin.
Outside is an artificial forest, with pine trees that were obviously crafted out of plastic. The mountain itself has a thick layer of "snow" at the top, while the forest is most dense the farther it is from the base.
*Shino appears from her hiding spot when she sees the others come out*
I'm honestly surprised that worked, but at least you guys are safe.
Phew, thanks for the save there.... I don't know about you two, but I think she might actually be aware what's going on here... sometimes....

"Well,that was an experience."
Eito sighs in relief and turns to Sayaka.
"So,what now?"
We scour the mountain and bring back anything that isn't trees or plastic.
Unless it's suspicious plastic.
Kotori enchants herself with earth, giving her enough weight to stand on the floor
I don't have too much more mana, so I'll look on foot.
Pretty much, they said there's a way out around the mountain, so we check that until we find something useful. Might be underneath the snow. So we SHOULD split up to search faster. Or do you just plan on following me again?
With a huff, Sayaka would wave to Shino
Sorry about that, we should really have a proper introduction later. I'm a bit busy at the moment. For now, just know I'm here to keep these people safe.
And finally, she swims off towards the mountain, keeping an eye out for anything that seems out of place. Occasionally, she dips a little closer to the floor to scoop up the snow, both to see if anything is under it, and to check how deep it is
Swimming close to the ground,Eito searches for anything unusual in the nearby areas.
"This is not what I wanted to do with my evening..."
OOC:Trying to stay up but failing.Gonna have to go to bed.Sorry.
The flakes themselves aren't cold in the slightest. They're comparable to the white flakes of a snowglobe. The mountain's surface is plastic as well. There's not much snow covering it, although the top is... cold? It's actually snow...
*Shino waves back, nodding in understanding*
Yeah, that introduction can wait, everyones safety is more important... If I can do anything to help, just let me know.
Sayaka soon swims up to the top of the mountain, there seems to be actual cold... Actual snow...
The girl grins before touching the ice wall at the top
Alright, is this what I think it is?
Sayaka waves at the others to follow
Looks like this point might be connected to the outside
Kotori climbs to the top of the mountain, then enchants herself with fire, attempting to use the heat of her enchantment to melt the plastic and "Dig" into the center of the mountain
While the other two are on... autopilot, so to speak, Kotori, Shino, and Sayaka investigate.
Sayaka's finger touches solid ice.
Kotori sinks straight through, melting away the actual snow and through the plastic trapdoor. The mountain's top wasn't really a top after all. After a drop of about 40 feet, Kotori lands in an open cavern. The gleam of a sapphire, snowflake-like bracelet can be seen in a pile of snow.
Kotori looks around first, trying to find any traps.
If she sees none, she'll grab the bracelet, but not put it on
Sayaka doesn't seem to find much of anything, and sighs, first drawing back her sword
Well, it can't be THAT thick, can i.....
Before actually swinging, she notices Kotori managed to open the mountain and find some sort of cavern. After blinking for a moment, Sayaka follows her through where the trapdoor once was

As Korori picks the bracelet up, she can feel... a warmth from it? It gives off a lot of heat when held. Yet despite this, a cold current sends shivers down everyone's spines...
Well, I was actually following Haruko-san and Eito-san, I didn't know you were in here......

She grabs Sayaka's hand and uses her wind to try to jet back out the top

No no, its probably a good thing you came. Between finding this and giving us the idea to go with the bird. I just worry a little is all.
Sayaka smiles and gives Kotori a thumbs up before looking at the bracelet she was handed and slipping it on
Hey, don't be so reckless. I can get us out pretty easily
With that, if Kotori can't jump high enough to get them out, then as soon as the pair descends, Sayaka would conjure a circle of music notes beneath her to leap off of, she would make however many it takes to get back out of the mountain and into the water

As Kotori flies upwards, a few shards of ice fire down the open hole at the top, accompanied by the dive of a certain snow bird.
"You... PUT THAT BACK!"
Sayaka nods to Kotori and grabs back onto her hand, trying to throw Kotori back down and ascend with it
Sorry, let me take this one ok?
Sayaka would slash at the shards above her as she ascends to the mother bird. Conjuring another circle to leap past the bird
Lunar Crescendo!!
As she passes the bird, Sayaka's sword would begin to glow a faint blue light. Sayaka slashes at the bird, aiming to drag the sword along with her momentum, after slashing, Sayaka would kick off of her target, backflipping towards one of the cavern walls
Kotori draws her blade and infuses it with flames, dragging it along the same like Sayaka did, using the full enchantment in one slash, then doubles her bodys flame enchantment to melt the wall Sayaka is heading towards

The bird's screech is cut short as the sword hits her body, sending snow flying. She takes a shaky breath and veers off to the side, sending ice shards flying from her right wing at Sayaka.
"Roara, cease this at once!"
The wall will melt, but with a little time. It's already begun to collapse from the heat. Sayaka's kick to the wall is just enough to tear a hole in the molten surface.

As the wall breaks behind her, Sayaka kicks off towards the snowbird. She covers her face with her cape, though it does rather little to actually slow the shards, Sayaka creates another blue circle to her side in order to let her kick off towards the bird

Kotori bumps against solid ice. The bracelet in Sayaka's hand vibrates a little as this happens.
"N-no... You can't go!" Even as some of her snow sticks to the plastic wall she hit, the bird somehow has the strength to push off. An icy beam freezes the water ahead, making its way to freeze Sayaka. "DON'T LEAVE ME AGAIN!"

*It's almost like Haruko just realized what's going on.*
Sayaka, look out!
Eito,as if just getting out of a trance,hears some of the commotion on the mountain and swims over.
"Not you again!"
"Sayaka,watch out!"

Kotori latches to the Ice and watches Sayaka, conserving her mana
Sayaka opens her eyes wide and quickly moves to put her cape between her and the mother, as soon as the cape begins to freeze, she creates a magic circle between her and the mother to leap off, through the mountainside that Kotori melted
cold, cold, cold, cold, cold...
After shivering for a bit she yells back to the mother bird

As Sayaka leaps through the mountain, the bracelet becomes hot, and the icy wall begins turning into a liquid state. Now's the time to escape!
"But... I... Please stay! I can't stand being alone anymore!" The bird's voice breaks into a sob, and she beats her wings while standing against the mountain for support. Countless tiny ice shards fly out and stab into all present like tiny needle.
I'm sorry.... but kids need to leave the nest someday. You should try coming outside, it's actually really nice.
Eito drops in strong pain.
"Oh my God!"
After some deep breathing,Eito's eyes turn crimson.
"This is nothing."
He slowly returns to swimming towards the bird,showing inhuman pain resistance.
"How long have you been alone?"
Sayaka's frozen cape manages to block most of the shards, though the few that manage to scratch her arms, legs, and face swiftly heal over, she nods to Haruko
If we can get out of this place, so can you. It'll be fine. You can follow us if you want, but we really need to go.
Sayaka looks at the others before pointing at her bracelet, using her legs to remain in place
I dunno if this still works if I'm outside the place, so you guys get out first just to be safe. I can defend myself just fine

Feeling a bit of sadness from hearing the mother's mourning, Kotori unbuckles her sheathed Kuru and throws it through the water towards the bird as a sort of keepsake
I'll find out what happened.....
And I'll do my best to find them....
She escapes as soon as she's able to.
Luckily the Ice enchantment on her and Haruko will lessen any damage, but Haruko's will disappear if she's hit, no longer protecting her from the cold

With a desperate cry, three large icicles shoot out at those present. The one aimed for Kotori sinks through the ice wall as she escapes.
