REALLY IMPORTANT QUESTION

So I recently beat Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions, and it was fun. But now I have an important question that I can't solve. So in the fight against Ludwig during Bowser's Castle, he barrages you with attacks before sending a giant fireball at you that is an instakill. But there is special gear that will null 3 hits that you take during battles. So what happens if the giant fireball lands and you still have hits before the effect of the clothes stops?

I assume you would still get insta killed. I mean, what will Ludwig do next? Nintendo probably didn't think of that. If you do survive it, I think you'll get a soft lock.

It is possible that he's programmed to just spam the insta-kill until it works, with the cutscene being triggered when, well, you die. Probably gave him some ridiculous health total to go with it
