I'm watching Digimon Tamers for the 3rd time.
And I'm 35 episodes in after 2 days.
I recall it being pretty good back in the day. One of the most interesting series. Always liked Impmon and Beelebumon too.
Much as I love it, the pacing is awful. Especially in the second half.
Really... Huh. I actually thought the inverse last time I saw it. Apart from the same flashback of Leomon dying 80+ times in the last 10 or so episodes.
Are you watching in English or Japanese, by chance?
Pacing in Tamers isn't that bad I'd say, it's at least far better than it was in the previous seasons.
Tamers has the most solid story structure of any of them, I'd say. Most of them are chalk full of just padding and fluff. Tamers always seems to have a point to every episode. Which I enjoyed back even I was still into the franchise.
Are you watching in English or Japanese, by chance? English. Digimon is one the few anime I absolutely can't watch in Japanese. I've tried multiple times. Last time I rewatched it, I actually went through the first few episodes in both languages before I just gave up and dropped the sub. Data Squad's pretty good once you get past the first 11 or so episodes. And as for Tamers, the first half isn't really a big problem; it's more when they go to the Digital world. Almost their entire time there is spent getting lost and looking for each other. Thing's start getting on track when Beelzemon shows up, but then there's the D-Reaper which I feel goes on a little longer than necessary.
Is that Savers? Yeah, I didn't like that one at all. Even if I was still into Digimon at the time, I wouldn't have liked it.
