Phansitemon Mystery Dungeon: Midnight Labyrinth
Everything is gone, except for a realm of shifting color. Red, pink, blue, green... You try to remember how you got here, but it's a mystery. You don't feel afraid, though. As if you can tell that this is safe. "Hello there..." "Before you can leave, I have a few questions to ask." "It may seem odd, but it is important." "First..." "What do you want to be in life?" [As the name implies, this is basically a Pokémon Mystery Dungeon AU thing. You can use characters from the Nexus, just be yourself, anything! Of course, to start, we'll have a questionnaire to see what you'll be...]

Ina and Colton find themselves in front of the pool. As Magus looks down at the water, he sees... Something that looks like a yellow tapir. Drowzee, is what comes to mind. Sam realizes that his feet aren't touching the ground. All he can see in the pool is two floating gears, spinning around. Klink. The ground under Magus and Sam becomes less solid, and they begin to fall...

Its tan and mahogany body is odd, yet streamlined. Mienfoo. Colton sees a chipmunk creature, with a spiky green "cap." Chespin. Ina sees a red-striped kitten with a piercing gaze. Litten. All three of them begin to fall as well.

Jiyu is at the pool now. Eito is greeted with the fluffy brown-furred face of something that is vaguely beaver-like. It's not very threatening. Bidoof is the name. Like those that came before, he falls as well.

Jiyu stares at the pool in front of him. "Well this is a strange place to put a pool..." Jiyu then casually strolls up to the pool, and looks down at his reflection in the water.

Where am I? Is this an interview? Okay then, I'll answer these questions, see where it gets me. Q1: Hmm...well, if I had to choose, I want to be successful, like a programmer of a famous video game. So... unforgettable, I guess? Q2: By making something, doesn't matter what it is. I'm kinda handy when it comes to creating things...oh, but if there isn't anything to make, I'll watch videos online. Q3: Well, besides the whole concept of death, being forgotten. Nobody wants to be forgotten. Q4: I'd try to step in and stop the bullying, or get someone who could. I'm a nice person. Q5: Well...I do consider myself a jack of all trades, but I think I'd like to specify in some things while still being a jack. Q6: I'd try to find the owner and give it back to them... unless it's just change, like a penny or a quarter. Those may be chump change, but it's still money all the same. I'd save as much as I could. Q7: hmm...well, normally I go with the flow, but sometimes things need to be changed. So... somewhere in the middle, I guess? Is that it? So...now what?

Star appears near Jiyu, by the pool. Jiyu's reflection is... a spiked brown helmet? He tries to stand up straight, but his hind... paws(?) aren't meant for that. He steadies himself on his bird-like front feet. Type: Null is an odd name, but it doesn't matter now that he's falling.

As Jiyu sees his reflection in the water, his grey eyes widen. No wonder why he felt weighed down a bit when walking. "W-What the he-" Jiyu gets interrupted when suddenly feels like there's no ground below him. He looks down to see that he's falling. "Ahhh!!!!"

It's no surprise that everyone was knocked out after falling a few thousand feet in the air into a forest. It IS a surprise that they're not aching all over- or dead- after regaining their senses. They've left a few craters in the ground. Craters caused by odd... creatures.

If not, they should know their enemy before they pick a fight! E: I'll be the best there is at everything, eventually! But for now, there's nothing better than a roaring inferno leaving bones in your wake. F: Take it, it's their fault for not being strong enough to hold on to their items after all!

Magus slowly tood up and he looked around, he didn´t noticed his new body yet. a powerfull creature did this, but w-w-w-w... Magus noticed... his noise was a bit longer than before and it is... yellow? he looked his new body with a surpirsed face. is this some kind of joke!?

Ina gets up, attempting to get on her hind.... Paws, but it doesn't go too well. "Woah....where am I?" She looks around, trying to scan her surroundings. She also ends up looking at herself, realizing she's a litten. "W-what!? What happened to me!?"

C.Tatsu walks up to the pool, he's not really sure what he'll find but it'll no doubt be interesting! He'd look down into the water, for some reason feeling his reflection is rather important.

"Ugh, what the hell was that?" Eito pushes off the ground, grunting at the sudden change in scenery and leans up against a tree, only to see his furry body and stop to examine himself. "..."

*The two gears that make up Sam's new body float up from their separate landing locations and reattach. Sam groans.* Ugh. My head. I feel all floaty. I also have no arms. This is a problem. Big problem. Where even am I, anyway?

Q1: I would like to be... a shield. I wish to protect my friends until the end of their days. Beyond that, I have no aspirations to speak of. Q2: In my free time, I would... spend time with my friends, and prepare myself for upcoming battles. I... lack any form of hobby, unfortunately, as it is not within my nature. Q3: My greatest fear is... the loss of those closest to me. It... has already happened once before, and I will do everything in my power to prevent it from happening once more. Q4: If I saw someone being bullied, I would... step in and assist the one being assaulted by the bully. Such an act is unwarranted and harmful. Q5: As I am, I am programmed to perform various tasks and do all of them to some level of satisfaction. However, I would not object to being specializes in a specific task, so my answer is... I do not have a preference. Q6: If I found money on the ground... I would attempt to identify the proprietor of it and return it to them. It is rightfully theirs, so there is little reason to not put it back in their possession. Q7: The purpose of my existence as of now is to change the fate of my friends and keep them alive. I shall not allow fate to take them sooner than they wish. Therefore, I am not the type to, "go with the flow," as you say. I'm going to make the assumption that this is sufficient for you?

Oww...why does it feel like my entire body was just thrown off a cliff and into a wood chipper? *Star gets up and looks around, the she looks at what she can see of herself* ...this is totally a drug trip, isn't it? That, or I'm actually an egg. Hmm... I'm going to go with number two for now, because I left a pretty nice hole in the ground. That, and this isn't the weirdest thing that's happened to me. Wait, is someone going to make me an omelet? Please tell me that won't happen. Wait, first civilization, then contemplate life and all its problems. So... I'm in a forest...what else...?

The group can hear muffled screams coming from the Type: Null. Unfortunately, he got his head stuck in the ground due to his brown helmet. He tries to pull himself out of the ground, but fails.

After looking the others... it could have been worse then... but if I catch who did this... I will torture him! get used to that quckly, is dangerous for us to be here, specially with this form we don´t know how to fight with it.

Tatsuya sees a dog with a skull on its head in the reflection. Smoke comes out of its twitching nose. A houndour. With a yelp, he suddenly falls... and lands near the group. The stranger sees this odd scene as they approach the pond. The woods are eerie and whispering. An odd aura comes from the north.

Jiyu sits up and breathes heavily as he is dug out of the ground. He looks around the forest. "Where am I?" He then looks at the other creatures in front of him with his eyes looking a bit serious. "And who are you guys supposed to be?" Seeing that the party is leaving, he follows the others.

With the narrator back from lunch, the group heads north... As they walk, the world warps around them into a narrow corridor. Thick vegetation widens into a room up ahead, with paths to the left and right. Just what is this place...?

Anyone know any fire-based attacks in these forms just in case we need to burn our way into an area? I think the best I've got is a little lightning zap.

The lady sees a shiny steel face with some black holes. She tries to get closer, but it's hard to lean forward with the stubby legs of an Aron. The ground collapses... ...and as the group heads right, they barely avoid being crushed by an unconscious steel mon. The noise attracts the attention of some sparrow-like birds...

The Type: Null jumps back just as the Aron hits the ground. He stares at the large steel creature. "Whoa..."

Magus junped back, the best way he could with that body I don't know what is this creature, but we should be carefull.

Izumi is in front of a pond now. They look in. A dark, misty being with a tree trunk for a head looks back. Following the Aron is a Phantump, who manages to catch themselves before they can slam into the ground.

After taking a huge fall, the small Arom picks itself up, now standing on her four stubby legs. Ugh, that was... an experience. Although I'm not feeling particularly harmed... She then takes a step back as she notices the other Pokemon gathered nearby. Oh, excuse me, did I almost fall on anyone? My apologies, I had little control over my trajectory after the floor gave out.

*Sam would have scratched the back of his neck if he had a neck. Or arms.* Well, that could have killed me.

"Luckily I'm fine. This weird body is giving me improved movement."

"What the hell is going on here?" Eito rushes to get to the Aron on all fours. "Are you okay?"

If Izumi was going to panic about the spoopy tree trunk, it was disrupted by the sudden fall! Oof! Glad I caught myself there.... what the heck was all that about, anyway?

The Aron gives a smile, if she could anyways, to Eito. I'm fine. Despite the large distance I fell, I feel perfectly okay, although maybe slightly disoriented. Perhaps I have some type of extremely hardened hide in this form...

"Okay then, get up!" Eito then turns to face the Spearow, backing up before dashing and leaping straight at one of them. Eito Used Tackle.

"Alright, let's do this thing!" Ina jumps up and attempts to activate her flame palm, but because this is not her normal body, she can't. Instead, she ends up spewing a flame at the Spearow. Ina uses Ember!

Huh? W-who are you all!? What are you all!?

Good luck with that, guys. *Sam uses Charge. S Defence up.*

Colton... rolls into a tree, dislodging the spearow and a poor seedot. This provides an opening for Ina to leap up and roast one of the birds, while Eito and Magus both hit another spearow. The flaming spearow dives towards Star, but an orange energy sword appears in her stubby hands and knocks it away. Both spearow vanish!

Examine my COMP, or Tech...I enjoy it since a very young age, reverse engineering... My greatest fear...failure. If I see someone being bullied...I try for a pacific solution, if not...I use my own body... Reality dictates my moves...I would have to specialize... After being "braindead" for a few minutes, Jiyu regains his thought and looks around at the aftermath of the sudden fight. "...Did I miss something?"

Body? Wait wait wait, can any of you seriously explain what's going on here? Geeze, I land in the middle of some fight like this.... Am I invisible or somthing?

Looks like we'll find more creatures like that, we should continue.

Oh, right, sorry. Got caught up in the fact that I pulled out a fucking energy sword from nowhere. So... we're all here as different creatures, and I guess we're all adventuring around this place because it's weird? As for how we got here, we fell. That's literally all I know on the situation.

The spearow are gone, yet there are about to be new arrivals. Kalib and Kazuya step in front of the pond. A small, round, green bird stares at Kalib. A natu, he realizes, spreading his... wings? Kazuya thinks it's an ice cream cone at first, but upon further inspection, the thing in the water is a vanillite. He reaches out, but he can't exactly do that with no arms. Both suddenly begin falling above the group.

He pauses for a moment as he feels a strange sensation. Falling? Oh right! That's what he was going to say! "WHERE THE HELL DID THE FLOOR GO!?" Still not terribly accustomed to his body, the...bird would begin violently flailing its small wings in an attempt to fly. Doubling his initial effort upon seeing the other creatures below him, he finally manages to hover above the group by a few feet. "DON'T EAT ME! I DON'T TASTE LIKE CHICKEN!"

With that, everyone moves on. A few stray pokémon try to attack, but they're easy to take care of. Just some weak mons that you'd find in an RPG tutorial... but enough leaning on the fourth wall. After going down a few stairs, the large gathering can see the exit nearby. It'll just be a matter of getting past these fluttering pests. They're very beautiful butterflies, but even three Beautiflies can prove somewhat annoying to the unprepared...

With that he takes flight once more and prepares for battle. "Looks like it's my time to shine! I'll have these bugs out of the way in no time!" The small bird flies over to the closest Beautifly and smiles, as well as a beak can allow. "Taste my fury! Roland, come!" But nobody came... "R-Roland? No? Not even as a bird? I'd settle for a chibisona... still no?" The bird sighs and brings a wing to its forehead. "Alright. New plan... taste my fury!" Kalib flies back to make some space before dive bombing the butterfly with his beak.

Fire hits a beautifly, sending it low enough for pecks from Kalib and... Star, somehow, to almost take it down. It weakly blows Kalib away with a Gust attack. The Confuse Ray and Confusion hit another Beautifly. It uses String Shot... towards the exit. It looks really dizzy. The beautifly fighting Eito flutters back, and is about to attack Kaz when he rams into it. It's too stunned by the ice cream to act.

The rotund bird is sent spiralling backwards through the air from the sudden gust of air. He eventually orients his wings in a position to counter the spin and he regains control. Something clicks in the back of Kalib's mind as he stares at the wounded butterfly. His eyes begin to glow an ominous purple. "Begone." The ominous glow would get stronger as the effects of Night Shade kick in. A terrifying mirage of several slaughtered Beautifly is displayed to the target. Each one torn apart in their entirety, wings and heads scattered about with a single small bird in the center. That small bird turns around and it can be seen having eyes glowing red with bloodlust. It would take flight and dive at the Beautifly as the mirage ends.

I didn't expect you young'uns to be all the way out here. Are you lost?" --- The side path leads to a small room, with a pile of disks. Whatever they are, they look important. Although why are there so many?

Kalib stops for a moment as he ponders how absurd his story would be. The dragon seemed nice enough, and he couldn't risk losing a potential lead. "I got a bit too adventurous and wound up here."

"Kweh...well it certainly has been a day. That much is true. Thanks for the hospitality, Gramps! I'll be going ahead, I need to exercise my wings!" He quickly salutes the dragon before soaring above the tree line to give himself time to think. Nothing made sense, he somehow knew what that dragon was...but how? And why did any of this happen to him in the first place? He closes his eyes and dives into the trees below, opening them in time to dodge a branch. He nimbly circles a around branches on his way up to the sky once more. His body wasn't the most aerodynamic, but neither was his original one. After some training, he was satisfied with his flying and decided to head over to the old dragon's house.

"Flamethrower!" A fiery stream is sent at the Aron, nearly taking it out in one hit. A black lizard, apparently Salazzle, smirks as she comes into view. "Golbat, make yourself useful and help a lady with these weaklings." Golbat nods. "Y-yes, ma'am! ...after I get my vision back..."

This does heavy damage to her due to her typing. "Golbat, you fool, help! Flamethrower!" Despite her blurred vision, flames lick at the Aron once more. Golbat shakes his head and lunges towards Eito, dragging Sam along with him. "Poison Fang!" No poison for the bidoof, but it hurts. Mitigated by Star's Charm. He's still locked into Rollout.

The poor Golbat is hit by eggs from an egg. Egg Bomb. The TMs gotten are.... Return, Steel Wing, and Sky Drop. Those who flee will see a Drampa enter this dungeon...

...About a day has passed since last night's adventure. Thanks to Drampa, everyone had gathered in the hut. It was cramped with everyone there, but they at least got refreshed. With the sun high in the sky, what's next? Outside, the dragon is already tending to his patch of flowers.

The Bidoof was grumpily sitting next to the Type:Null, sighing after Star's question. "That is a rather important question, but as our friend here says, it'll be tough to learn if you only ask him." Eito then gets up and walks outside the hut to speak to the Drampa. "Yo, old man, know of any towns nearby?" "No offense but we can't really stay here with you forever."

A Houndour wanders into the room, there's a vicious smirk on his face as he looks over the gathered group without even a hint of concern. "So, you lot must be the others who ended up here? Well call me Suou, and I'm glad you weren't such weaklings as to die this early..." He trails off for a moment, pausing to look over at the dragon in the gardens. "As for our next move, I guess that we should move towards some kind of city or another. But I don't care much honestly, so long as we gain more power then I'll stick around and lend my flames!"

"Hm?" Drampa blinks, then tilts his head. "Hm, yes... there should be one if you go to the road that way, and head in the opposite direction of that Mystery Dungeon you came from. It shouldn't be incredibly long, but my memory could be failing me. Someone as old as me doesn't get the chance to go adventuring often like you young'uns."

The Litten dashes into the room, panting. "Hah... Hah..sorry I'm late... I fell asleep back in the forest..." Ina takes a seat to chill.

So...I suppose our end game is to figure out why we are now Pokemon, and to find what caused our transformation. As for if we'll destroy what caused it or not, well, there's plenty of factors, but if the thing that transformed us is evil, I think the next course of action is obvious. Still, I have a feeling that this will be a few...I don't know, months? Maybe a year if we really take our time. For now, we should focus on gathering information and gaining trust among the locals. Hmm... *Star meditates and turtles into her eggshell*

"Cool, thanks." The Bidoof takes his time before entering the hut again, stopping to smell the flowers and bask in the sun. Upon entering, he yawns and announces. "Well, according to old man dragon out there, we should be able to get to a town relatively quickly as long as we go opposite of the...Mystery Dungeon or whatever it's called."
Jiyu-Hatanaka
The Type: Null gets up on all fours and stretches his body. After stretching, he looks over Suou. "That's literally what we were about to do, Suou. We just need to get directions from the old man." Jiyu looks over to Ina as she ran into the room. "Just don't randomly fall asleep in the middle of nowhere again, who knows what could attack you while you're asleep." He lastly looks over to Eito. "Now that we have the directions, let's hit the road!" Jiyu walks out of the hut.

Hmm? Mystery Dungeon? Well, that makes things more complicated. Stupid randomly generated dungeons always give me trouble. Still, we have a destination. Let's get moving, and hope that we don't go into another dungeon. Seriously, I have horrible luck with those things. *Star gets onto her feet and walks out the house*

"Rad. Let's hit the road." The Bidoof follows Star out of the hut , stopping to motion for the others to join them. "Come on, the longer i'm in this furry body the more I want to die!"

Those that exit will find themselves at a road. Going down it for a few minutes, they will come across a signpost, with arrows pointing separate ways. "< Sapphire Town ^ Shadow Canyon > Skyscraper Mountain"

Jiyu looks up at the signpost then looks to his left. "It says that town's that way. But should we go check out one of the other places first?"

"Let's go to town. We can come back and check out the rest of these places later, yeah?" Eito motions towards Sapphire Town's direction.

At least I'm alive and well in this new body of mine. If only I could do something truly evil in this body. I might be a goody goody most of the time, but I can't cause chaos if I'm just an egg. Still, I suppose this is what I'd look like if I did become a Pokemon... it's actually quite fitting if you think about it hard enough. I bring as much joy to the world as I do chaos with my Metronome. Still, I do wish I could get a darker design, maybe some purple? Oh, but then I would look a bit like Frieza, wouldn't I? Oh well, can't win everything, and now I'm just ranting. As for my opinion, we should check the town first. See what it has to offer before we burn it to- wait, nevermind. That's the evil talking.

Tatsu chuckles upon hearing mention of burning to the ground, hah that sounds like a good time from where he's standing and all but... "As fun as that idea seems Star, I don't believe that it would be in our best interests to simply lay waste to all that crosses our path, I can not imagine why but I'm actually arguing against random fire." He'd keep on walking toward the town, a smirk on his face all the while as he gazes toward his so-called friends to try and judge their reactions to his words.

Eito nods again and walks along the road to Sapphire Town.

The town seems to be built at the base of a cliff, with some buildings even being carved out of it. Multiple pokémon walk around the central plaza, chattering and shopping. There's a few stores selling items, strange orbs, and even clothing. There's some kind of notice board in the center of town. Another notable thing is the relatively well-decorated entrance to one of the cliff "doorways."

Hmm...well, seems there's an economy here. That means we'll need money. Also, I seriously doubt we can start a random fire and get away with it with this many Pokemon around. Hmm...that doorway in the cliff...that looks important...you think they have some kind of guild around here? I mean, it would make sense. We could even make this our base...well, for now anyway. *Star goes over to check the notice board*

"Hmmm..." Eito walks over to the notice board in the middlenof town, of course taking a moment to stare at the other Pokemon around him. "And I just HAD to be like this..."

Jiyu looks around at the fairly decent town and other Pokémon, nodding his head. "Hmm, this place looks better than I expected it to be." He follows the others to the notice board.

Hmm...a quest board... interesting...that means a guild IS around here...well, while we're here, we should go register in the guild. That way we can legally take quests. Besides, dealing with the cops would be too much of a hassle. I have a pretty good idea of here it is too... *Star begins to head for the well-decorated entrance in the cliff

The only thing that catches Jiyu's eye is the advertisement about the petty thief. He looks over to Star upon hearing her talking about a guild. "Eh, I'd might as well join too." Jiyu follows Star to wherever she's going.

Hmm...you know my favorite way to kill someone? Set off an explosion while they're in the bathroom. Nobody ever expects it, and they really should bring a bomb defusal kit when they go in...then again, they won't find the bomb that easily. Hmm...but, I do have to admit, that's my favorite in terms of comedic ways to kill someone. If I'm going to kill someone personally, I'm going to have them know that it's me that's going to set their body on fire, cut it up into little pieces, and vaporize it into non-existence. Oh, whoops. Got a little carried away there for a moment. Maybe I should lay off the spicy foods for awhile. Get some more sweets in my diet. I always do seem to be a bit eviler when I don't have something sweet. *Star keeps walking to the entrance in the cliff, taking a mental note to not burn everything in her path and to seriously consider seeing a psychiatrist at some point after this is all over.*

Let's just say I've delt with people who can talk fast...very, very fast... I've kinda gotten used to it. Though I do admit, my skills have been getting rusty. I suppose it's probably because I was on the brink of death until yesterday.

"Newmembers? Comeincomein!" The bat- a Noibat, they somehow know- waves a wing, beckoning them inside. The inside is lit by torches, with a ladder connecting this floor to upper floors. Multiple pokemon- poochyena, maractus, rockruff, tranquil... There's such a variety. "Gotothethirdfloor!" is what Noibat shouts.

"That could be useful. Anyway, could you at least tell me what the guy said?" Jiyu was about to do his signature arm cross, but he just remembered that he couldn't do it in this form.

"Alright then." Jiyu follows star but stops when he gets to the ladder. He blankly looks up at it, wondering if he could still climb it in this form. "Well, at least I could try climbing it..." Jiyu grabs onto the ladder and slowly climbs up it, trying to keep his balance.

With a lot of determination, everyone gets up to the third floor. It branches out into three tunnels, but the wooden door a few feet away looks too important to just be an ordinary room. It's slightly open, and two voices can be heard from inside.

Inside, a purple dragon- a garchomp- is sitting at a desk, talking to a yellow and black creature with two wire-like tails- an electivire. "So you're saying all pokémon who go there are...?" "That's what I'm saying. I'm not all brawn, Garchomp. I've read up on stuff like this." "That, or you're just talking with Alakazam a lot. But enough of that. We seem to have some guests, so keep quiet, hmm?" Garchomp winks at the pokémon peeking in the door. Electivire seems anxious, but goes through the door and climbs down the ladder.
