My Complete Thoughts On The Phantom Thieves.
This is a follow-up post to my "Atlus Did an Amazing Job at Making their Characters Likable." Keep in mind these are all my opinion, and it does not mean you can hate me. I would love to hear yours in the comments!
Likable as a character can be determined by looks, fan service, funny moments, mystery, backstory, etc. Likable as a person means that if they existed in real life, so it is mostly based on personality. An example of this difference is Bakugo from My Hero Academia. He is likeable as a character because he's so predictable and makes you laugh, but you would prolly hate him if he was real since he's one of the biggest dicks in the world.
I will go over each of the Phantom Thieves in order of when we befriended/met them:
Ren:
-As a Character: Hesssssoooocooool. Hes so quiet but so sexy and sassy come on who doesnt love him?
-As a Person: He's alright. I appreciate quiet people. I mean if he went to my school with a criminal record realistically, I woild immediately dislike him, but over time, I would like him more. We could honestly be friends, but I would feel to uncomfortable.
Ryuji:
-As a Character: Hes amazing and hilarious and needs a hug. He needs a girlfriend, but I wont be it. Hes such a bro and hes so cool and hes also a mamas boy so he's cute. JUST GIVE HIM A HUG
-As a Person: I'm the type of person who hates people like him. He has bad grades, doesn't really care about school, breaks a lot of rules, etc. I usually avoid these types of people. But once I see his bro side, I could like him much more.
Morgana:
-As a Character: She's soo cute, but a little too bossy for me, sorry. But I love the scenes when he is discovering who he is, and don't get me started when Morgana approaches treasure.
-As a Real Cat: Tbh if its a cat I automatically love it. Its pretty simple.
Ann:
-As a Character: I really like her because shes always willing to help out a friend, and shes soooo hawtttt. I like the scenes when Ryuji is being pervy to her.
-As a Person: I like her. I would definetly not avoid her, but I wouldn't approach her either. She's friendly, and I definelty appreciate that.
Yusuke:
-As a Character: Ohhhhh myyy godddddd do I need to say anything? Hes got everything I need in a character. Hes consistently funny, has a beautiful backstory, incredibly sexy and attractive, he doesn't make fangirls go crazy for nothing. Hes perfect. Not only is he my favorite character in Persona, not just my favorite character in a JRPG, he's my favorite character PERIOD. I SHALL PROTECT HIM.
-As a Person: He's still good. Actually my best friend who has the SAME BIRTHDAY as him has a very similar personality to him. Hes an artist like me so that's a plus. He seems very sophisticated and educated so thats also plus. Sure he's stubborn, but we all have flaws. And his wierd side doesn't seem super unrealistic, and sometimes I can do things that seem wierd to most people with a straight face like him, so if he was real, I would be absolutely cool with it.

Morgana is a boy
Makoto:
-As a Character: Okay, I think she's a tad bit overrated. But she's still a cool character. I mean JUST LOOK AT HER AWAKENING. She goes from a sweet girl who gets pushed around by adults to a super cool motorcycle chick. I like her as a character overall.
-As a Person: Meh. I mean I like intelligent people a lot and that is a basically a requirement if you want to be friends with me. However, I don't really want to be friends with someone who ALWAYS perticapates in class and is ALWAYS a leader in group activities. Makoto reminds me of a friend I had. Just always being on top and being the perfect student and teacher's pet gets annoying.
Futaba:
-As a Character: Prolly best girl, or tied with Haru, but most likely her. I loveeeeeeee her backstory and had probably the most beautiful awakening and most meaningful palace, just everything about her story is amazing. I also really like that she's a super shy and geeky tech girl, so yea.
-As a Person: She's still awesome as a person. I appreciate people like her who are not super extroverted and geeky because I can definitely relate. I would love to be friends with her.
Haru:
-As a Character: HOOO BOY I JUST WANT TO PAT HER ON THE HEAD AND GIVE HER A HUG. She's soooo adorable. She's everyones favorite cinnamon roll. Sure, she didn't get much character development compared to everyone else, but her cuteness makes it up, at least for me.
-As a Person: Still good. If a rich kid came to my school and wasn't the stereotypical mean girl or mary sue, then I would immedeatly be interested. She's so sweet.
Akechi:
-As a Character: A lot of people say that something is wrong with me for liking Akechi. I like him as a CHARACTER GUYS! That's because of the endless pancake memes and ships. If Akechi was found alive in the Persona world, I would get suuuuuuper excited to see what happens next.
-As a Person: I hate him obviously. Why would you want to be with a murderer of so many people? If I was in the Persona world then, I would not want him alive.
Morgana is a boySHOOT I MEANT HE NOT SHE I forget its gender a lot.

What do you mean by that? Of course i'm not a murderer but all the things that happened to him, his past and some interests i meant that lmao.
