Merciful Characters or Bloodthirsty Characters?
*Cough* Title *Cough*
? Referring to what exactly?
So, this is a hard question for me. Personally, I adore bloodthirsty characters in games. But I don't like RPing as them, as I feel I can't replicate their bloodthirsty ness well enough. Also, if a game has a choice to be a good guy or a bloodthirsty one, I'll go the good guy route most of the time.
As-in, which I prefer? Depends, both can be just as fun and interesting as any other character trait if presented well.
? Referring to what exactly? Do you like characters who tend to merciful, or do you prefer characters who almost give no mercy?
While both can work effectively, I tend to prefer merciful ones, as bloodthirsty characters tend to be given almost no depth while the downsides of mercy and goodness are frequently explored
Ah I see. Well I've played my fair share of both and seen a lot! Personally merciful is my preference, anti heros seem a little overdone, and it's refreshing to have a hero as a hero!
- - - As a firm supporter of angst of all kinds, I find merciful characters more enjoyable. While bloodthirsty ones can just kill any enemy, or murder their way out of potential situations - The merciful ones are more at risk. They have to use more peaceful means, and only kill as a last resort. And often, if they are made to have to kill, it haunts them for the rest of their life. Fills them with immense regret as they sit there every single night and question what they could have done differently. - - -
