Eclipse: The Spirit's Next Form
It would be a somewhat normal day even within this twisted version of Tokyo. People would be busy moving about through the streets minding there own business. Some would be going to work and some to their usual classes. It was on a day like this that a certain oddity would fill the air. Certain individuals might notice this feeling. It would be a vague sense of dread and fear as if something or someone was watching them. If they were to follow this feeling it would simply lead them to a empty alleyway. It would appear to be empty but within the musty air there was still...something. Perhaps only a feeling but it would truly feel like something was there.
Tsk, silly me, letting my mind get the better of my power. There's no energy signature here, and I know that. But... it wouldn't hurt to check more thoroughly. Having been drawn by this feeling, Em walks down into the alleyway. He squints his eyes as he tries to see this feeling. He then closes his eyes as well, using his Persona's power once again to try and feel it's energy. It's pretty disheartening to know stuff can escape my radar like this... Either that, or I'm going crazy.
A man in a lab coat prowls the city, a slight scowl crosses hos face as he walks into this odd alleyway. A strange game cartridge held in his right hand near a green and pink belt on his waist. "Seems as if there's something happening here... But the question is what? Well regardless, it's my job to make sure nobody gets hurt too badly." He'd then look toward the young man who wandered in, black and white hair visible as he turns to Em with a curious look on his face. "Oi, you felt this too then? You look a bit young to be playing at solving dangerous stuff, but that's normal here... Taiga Hanaya, and hopefully this won't be anything serious."
Em opens his eyes and turns around, greeting the stranger with a smirk. Do we ever have anything that isn't serious around here? Every new encounter we get around here is just another plot formed by some demon, I swear. He laughs before looking him over, noticing the odd equipment he's carrying. So... what exactly is all that stuff you have on you. I think I've seen things like it around before, but I've never really gotten the chance to ask about it.
Tai
Shortly after the first two found their way to the alley, a tall boy with messy brown hair followed shortly behind. A: "Tai? What's wrong? Did you smell something good!?" The boy laughs softly at the voice coming from the device attached to his waist. "Something like that Agumon. Just sit tight okay?" Tai closes the gap between himself and the other men with a smile on his face. "Hey there! I take it we're all in the same boat then?"
Suddenly, any smart devices they might've had on them would go off. A notification would appear asking to install an app on their devices. [Would you like to install Eclipse Radar?] Just as the notification another individual would approach the alley. It would be a young looking boy with his head hung low. His eyes were watery and his face was red indicating that he had been crying for a while. He almost seemed to not notice everyone else as he would head for the end of the alley where the strange feeling of dread would be emanating. Em's Persona would notice something but it felt strange and unnatural as if the very idea of a Persona repelled Em's attempts to detect it. He wouldn't be able to see what it was but simply be able to see that something was repelling his attempts to detect it like an empty space devoid of all energy. The boy would sit on the ground where the anomaly would be and begin crying some more. "It's...not fair...Why won't they leave me alone...?"
He'd look at Em with a shrug, he could dodge but seeing as how there are decent odds the kid will see him Henshin regardless no sense pretending to be normal. "It's called a Gamer Driver, the cart is a Gashat... Think of them as gadgets that summon up armor and weapons, Long story short, they're the tools of a Kamen Rider." What a Rider is, however, he doesn't very much feel like explaining, and the entry of Tai would give the man a good excuse to avoid going into too much detail. He'd glance down curiously at the source of the voice, some kinda V-Pets thingy? He can't judge though given his power comes from FPS games. "So it seems, I'm Taiga Hanaya... Though in this case, I guess you might also call me Kamen Rider Snipe. No-" The man's words are cut off by his phone ringing out, a note to install... Eclipse Radar? He'd click yes on it and look to the young boy who seems so broken. A wince crossing his face as he walks toward the young man, this seems more like Emu's thing than his but he'll try... "Oi, what's up with you? I may not look like much, but if you're being bothered by something I might just be able to help you out... I am a doctor after all, so I can't very well ignore someone in need." He'd smile over at the boy, voice attempting to sound reassuring... Though there's a hint of being less friendly to it, Taiga never has been great with people.
Emerson takes in the information from Taiga, nodding along to what he says. Beginning to reply, he suddenly feels the presence, or lack thereof, of the young boy, and stops to try and decipher it. A black hole of sorts... interesting. I suppose it's better than no energy signature, we're getting somewhere now. Em gives the boy a smile, following up Taiga. Yeah, there's no way we'd leave someone in need without assistance! We're all ears to whatever you need.
Tai
"Kamen Rider Snipe? Sure thing old man!" A small beep would come from Tai's Digivice, but the appearance of the new boy would distract him slightly. Agumon, on the other hand, was more interested in the strange app. A: "Hm? What's this? It doesn't look like a virus..." The small yellow dinosaur wouldn't give it a second thought before allowing the installation from inside the device. Tai just stands there for a moment as he watches the boy. He's been here before, and right now they could only do so much. "Alright. You guys are pretty good, heheh! I'll do my best to help out!"
The boy would continue crying as he speaks. "I keep trying to tell everyone about the monster following me. It won't leave me alone...It's always there when I'm not looking. I can feel it...but whenever I try to tell someone they always call me a liar...It's not fair...why is the monster only following me? I...I just wish I could disappear along with the monster. Nobody could call me a liar if I disappeared..." The kid would continue crying as the newly installed apps on everyone's devices would begin going off. [Eclipse Gate detected. Please stand by for identification...] An odd pulse of energy would burst out from the app. It would travel through the air before finally arriving at where the boy is crying. Red cracks could now be visibly seen breaking apart the space around him. The cracks were growing larger by the second before they broke apart into what seemed to be a gateway of some kind. With a panicked yelp, the boy would be sucked into the gateway leaving nothing behind. The gate would stay in place glowing with a vibrant red light. A swirling vortex would be present within the center, large enough for a person to walk through. It was very obvious that the feeling of dread was coming from here as it could be felt even stronger than ever to the point of making the weak hearted collapse.
The man rushes forward, spinning the cartridge in his right hand around on one finger like a gunslinger with a revolver. "HENSHIN!" Taiga taps a button on his Gashat, slamming the device down into a slot on the belt around his waist and being engulfed by a bright light for a moment. After a bit, the light would clear and suddenly the man can be seen in a suit of armor. OOC: I'm too lazy to describe armor, here's a pic. https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/kamenrider/images/2/23/KREA-Snipel2.png/revision/latest?cb=20161016014949 "No time to waste so don't question it too much alright? Now, mission start!" Snipe rushes forward at a breakneck pace, his belt yelling out with an eletronic voice as a large pistol with a green button and an orange button takes form in his hands. "GASHACON MAGNUM!" Finally, the Rider rushes straight into the gateway without even pausing for a moment. Despite the horrible sense of dread he's feeling, Snipe's only response is to aim his weapon forward and prepare for whatever this place may hold.
Tai
"HEY!" Tai would be too slow to do anything as the boy is dragged into the portal. He clenches his teeth and balls his hands into fists. "We're going to get you back pal. Wait for us." He pulls the device from his waist and holds it in his right hand. His face warms back up and he flashes a grin to his new acquaintances. A: "Showtime?" "You bet Agumon! Let's go save the day! Don't slack off old man, you too pal!" Tai rushes for the gate, even though his instincts tell him not to. He begins to slow down, but his burning courage gave him the last bit he needed to reach the threshold.
Emerson steps back in shock as the boy is sucked up by the vortex, and steps back further as Taiga suddenly transforms before his eyes. He... the vortex... and so that's... a Kamen Rider? I-I... what just happened..? He watches as Taiga, Tai and Agumon all follow after the kid. He sighs, putting his hand over his forehead. We're going head-first into danger as always, I see. Well, not like I'm completely immune to doing that myself. Em takes a deep breath before walking right into the vortex.
As the group enters the vortex the world itself would seem to shift and distort as if they were entering through a crack in what they considered reality itself. On the other side of the gate as they came back to their senses they'd find themselves in a small square room with blood red walls similar to what one might see in a castle. The air was oddly cold and would exhaust the group just by breathing it in. Everything about this place felt like a completely different world entirely and the sounds of a panicked boy could be heard echoing up ahead. Beyond the square room would be a hall with similar walls. The app on their devices seemed to light up as if displaying the immediate area they've been too. Nothing of note would be displayed yet but there seemed to be a small icon detailing all of the "human" entities within the area including Augumon. Whatever the app was it seemed to count Augumon as a "human" entity, at least to its own parameters.
Blood red... Well, this place seems cheerful, not to mention the sense of exhaustion that seems to fill the place. He'd walk forward, gun held high as he looks around for anything odd. "Hmm, seems as if this place isn't somewhere we want to be longer then needed... And hopefully we can get that kid back quickly, I don't want some innocent getting dragged into this madness at all, and certainly not for longer than we can help it." Snipe sighs, frowning a bit under his mask as he continues to press forward. He'd only spare the odd entry of Agumon a sideways glance for a moment before shrugging it off, despite the thing being new to him, he doesn't have time to sit around wondering over it.
The first thing Emerson does is to look to his companions, making sure they're still with him. He then begins to walk down the hallway, examining the walls as he did. Hmm, red's not my favorite wall color, honestly. Typically brings a sense of dread, which to be fair, seems to be what they're going for. He glances over at Taiga, speeding up his walk to catch up with him. Oh, um, never introduced myself. My name's Emerson. So, how exactly did you get this... "Kamen Rider" thing. And why do I see so many of you around here? Is it a common thing where you're from?
Tai
The icy cold air would stings Tai's lungs as he struggled to catch his breath. A look around would send a shiver down his spine regardless of the temperature. His attention was then pulled by the sounds of a young boy. "Hang on kid. We're coming!" A brief glance at his Digivice would reveal the given information from the app. Wait, app? "Agumon. Did you go downloading something strange again?" A: "Well Tai, it didn't seem suspicious. And it just popped up out of the blue!" "What am I gonna do with you? Hm? Human entities?" The information was peculiar. It considered Agumon to be human? A: "Can I come out now?" "Oh! Right! Agumon, realize!" A beam of light comes from the device and in a flash of 0s and 1s comes a small form. That form would soon reveal itself as a small yellow raptor. "Let's make tracks, buddy!" A: "Right!" The duo would follow shortly after Taiga and Emerson.
The group would move onward into another room but this room was circular in shape and much larger than before. The app once again goes off with a louder message than before. [Warning: Greed detected. Please activate your Soul Device and prepare to defend yourself...] As if on time with the apps warning a creature that stood around 8 feet tall would move into the area from a hallway further up ahead. Its body seemed to be made of a strange dark metal and while almost humanoid in shape it was much bulkier and lacked a head. Instead, its face was located on its chest. It starred at the group with a single beady red eye as small pixie-like creatures with bodies made of crystal stalagmites rushed in from behind it. There would be two total on either side of the golem. They began charging a strange energy in their hands as the golem seemed to block off any path directly reaching them.
Emerson hmm? As for the questions... "Riders are made in a wide range of ways, as for myself... Let's just say some tests were involved, and thanks to them I've been able to become Snipe. Some are born of magic, others like me have tech, heck I hear some Kamen Riders are even mutants who transform with their own DNA. As for being common, not so much common as we have a way of showing up when we're needed." Anything else he might have said would be cut off by the entry of these foes... Some charging up shots, and some metal monster that seems to be guarding the smaller ones. "Tch, kill the small ones quickly, in any fight, you never want to let the guards do their job and protect something. So I'll keep the big one busy and let you two get past it!" Snipe rushes forward, shots blasting from his magnum as the Rider charges at the large golem in front of them. He'd fire off 4 blasts before getting into melee range, at that point rather than keep firing Snipe's gun vanishes and he'd aim to grab hold of the thing's left arm and pull it down to the ground, inhuman strength from his armor hopefully allowing the man to move it despite the thing's bulk and height. Mostly, he's aiming to keep it from moving.
Tai
Tai looks down at his Digivice as the warning rings out. Agumon, on the other hand, was already staring the new obstacles down. A: "Tai, I'm going." Tai looks up from his device to see the intimidating sight. "Whew... what a way to warm up! Be careful buddy, this doesn't feel like either of our worlds. Anything goes in the enemy's domain." The small raptor nods to his partner before looking back at the trio before him. He takes a few steps forward slowly until he was standing before the golem. A: "This is exciting! Here goes!" A bright red light begins to glow from inside Agumon's throat until... A: "PEPPER BREATH!" Agumon unleashes a volley of three fireballs at the golem's face. Meanwhile, Tai was busy fiddling with his Digivice in an attempt to activate the "Soul Device". "Come on...what even is a Soul Device? I don't get this at all..."
Well, I guess we need a lot of you around here, huh? Their conversation is cut short by the appearance of the golem and it's cohorts. Em chuckles a little. Man, only a hallway in and already something to fight. All right, let's do it to it! Em reaches down to his waist with both arms, unsheathing a longsword with each. He drags the blades across the ground as he begins to rush the golem's right, pushing his left arm forward as he enters melee range, aiming to thrust his left sword directly into it's right arm as Taiga holds down it's left. He then tries to use this to pull himself up and jump off the sword, hopefully giving him enough distance to strike at the pixie with his right sword.
Snipe's shots would seem to make direct contact with the golem and while it did seem to notice the impact of each hit this would do little more than stun it for a moment. As for grabbing the things left arm Snipe's usual superior strength seems almost nullified against the creature as if his armor was little more than a colorful plastic wrapping to it. It would slowly try to lift its arm and Snipe with it in an attempt to lift him into the air but it would be interrupted by the flurry of fireballs rushing at its face. The fire would actually serve to knock it back away from Snipe but would do little more than Taiga's bullets. Em's strike to its right arm would end with the sword simply bouncing off of the creature. Somehow even against the small pixies, the result would be similar with the exception of being able to make its head move a little with the strike. The Pixies finish their charging period and suddenly balls off blue light would be thrown in between the three. They would fall to the ground and burst causing a great amount of damage if they were hit.
The man mutters a curse under his breath, despite the annoying effects of this world he's still got superior speed... The man jumps, flying high into the air and tapping the orange button on his gun, it would quickly shift into a larger rifle as Snipe begins holding down the trigger, a stream of shots flying from the gun and sending him flying back, he'd land a good ways away from the golem along with evading the blasts of energy. "Tch, let's see about this Soul Device thing then shall we? I'm going to bet that the app is key, so here's hoping I'm right!" The Rider... Pulls out his smartphone, he'd quickly begin scrolling through the eclipse app, searching for anything related to a soul device even as he looks up now and then to make sure he's still got an eye on their foes. Assuming he found something on how to use a "Soul Device", he'd begin trying to do just that.
Failing to harm both the golem and pixies, Emerson back away from them, only to now be shot at by blue balls of light. He manages to avoid the attack after gaining his distance from the attackers and keeping away from it's trajectory. Ugh, nothing we do seems to faze them. And I can already tell I can't use magic right now, so... Evasive maneuvers until we figure this out? He sheathes his blades, keeping himself moving as he looks over at Taiga, seeing him on his phone, similarly to Tai. The hell are you two doing?! This is no time for- wait, did you figure something out?
Tai
Tai looks away from the app as a bright light catches his eye. He turns his head up to see a large attack heading straight for his partner. "Agumon! Above you! Run!!" The small legs of Agumon weren't quick enough to avoid the brunt of the explosion. The attack sent Agumon flying through the air and right into Tai; knocking them both to the ground. A: "Urk... these guys are tough..." "Can you still fight?" Agumon climbs off his friend and stands ready once more. A: "Of course!" Tai follows suit and stands with his Digivice in hand. "Then let's keep it up! I'll find a way out of this! I always do!" Once more, Tai searches through the app for something related to the Soul Device. As he does, Agumon's throat begins to glow once more.
The pixies would begin to prepare another attack as the Golem slowly moves forward. It seemed there would be no way to stop them but suddenly the apps on everyone's devices would freeze but it wasn't simply the app that froze but the Greed as well. The world began to take on a monotone gray as a feminine voice began speaking out. ???: "Do you want 'power'?" As if from thin air a feminine figure with long white hair wrapped loosely in a strange gray cloth with eyes drawn into it would appear before the group. ???: "The 'power' has always been within you. See for yourselves." With a simple gesture a golden light would shine from everyone's chests. They could feel a strange sensation as if something within them is surging to life. ???: "Now claim that 'power' for your own...it begins here and now." With that the girl would vanish into thin air as time began to resume. The golden light would continue to glow as everyone's spirit itself would begin to take on a new form. An energy would fill them from one of the 5 affinities that defined them the most: Fire Wind Steel Spirit Shadow Now they could call upon their soul device by focusing that golden light into a material form.
"Power huh... Yeah, the power to help." The man would close his eyes, golden light taking shape into a yellow painted metallic game cart... Upon the cover, the words "Bang Bang Eclipse" can be seen in bright red lettering. Taiga pulls the Gashat from his Driver, setting it back into his coat and smirking as he spins around the newly made device. "Henshin!" He'd slot in the Gashat, his belt screaming out in a slightly distorted voice. "LET'S GAME!" "MECHA GAME!" "MUCHA GAME!" "I'M AN ECLIPSE RIDER!" Yellow energy engulfs Taiga, he'd vanish from sight for a moment. To his eyes however a suit of armor takes shape, the man himself floating around in a space, not unlike the one he just stood, various foes advancing on him before being cut down by a series of gunshots. He'd then return to reality transformed, a dark yellow metal armor covers the man. In contrast to his usual suit, this one seems heavier and is made of pure metallic components. All told, the armor is fairly bulky but clearly able to withstand attacks well. Heavy armoring can especially be seen on the chest plate and leggings. Along with bits of red accent the edges of the suit. And a plain metal helmet can be seen on his face, no color save for red compound eyes as the lenses of his mask. The belt shouts out once more. "GASHACON SOUL SHOOTER! A gun takes shape in his hands, the buttons near its trigger now in red and yellow rather than their usual colors. The weapon currently takes the shape of a shotgun, made from yellow metal with a few streaks of red going around the trigger and up to the barrel. The man would look down at his weapon and smirk under his mask. "Well, if we're lucky this one works a bit better than my usual Gashat did. Something gives me the feeling that we stand a chance in this fight now... Mission start, once again."
Emerson places his right hand on his chest, closing his eyes and trying to focus the energy in his core. His arm now shining brightly, he stretches it out to the side, and the light begins to increase it's brightness substantially. The light begins to crawl up his arm towards his shoulder, before extending outward into a large plane across his full arm. It finally solidifies, becoming a white and grey shield with a sleek, smooth design. It joints at the elbow to allow for arm movement. Emerson brings the shield up to eye level, examining it for a while before taking on a fighting stance, keeping his body low to the ground with his shield up front. Well, nothing like new power to get the blood pumpin'! Let's have at it!
Tai
Agumon blinks a few times as his large head leans to the right. A: "There's more power inside of us?" Agumon raises his left hand to his chest, which leads to Tai doing the exact same thing. "So I can finally fight alongside Agumon? Alright. We're back in this fight pal! Let's do it!" A bright light surrounds the pair as they focus on the power deep inside themselves. The power would begin to rise up like magma from within a volcano until it was on the verge of erupting. T&A: "EXECUTE! SOUL DEVICE EVOLUTION!" The light would begin to fade slightly as it moved down Tai's body to his legs, and down Agumon's body to his arms. Tai's light would begin to coalesce into an armor like form upon his legs. With a pair of standing kicks from each leg, the remaining light is knocked off to reveal a red pair of greaves. Agumon's light would begin to coalesce into a different type of armor upon his arms. He lets out a fierce cry as he smashes the weapons together, and as the light dissipates it reveals a pair of Dramon Killers. Each was a giant metal claw that was similar to that of the weapon he uses in his Mega form. "Woah! Looking cool Agumon!" A: "You're not too bad yourself Tai!" The pair exchange a quick smile before turning back to the battle at hand. "Let's show these digidummies that we aren't going to lose that easy!"
With time once again resuming the golem would seem to stop for a moment seeing as something strange had occurred among the group. It would stall for a moment before stepping forward once again, although slowly. The pixies, on the other hand, would once again fire off another pair of blue orbs. The orbs would burst upon making impact with the ground with the aim of once again firing between the group. This time, however, the only ones that would take any significant damage from the attack would be Tai and Agumon. Snipe, on the other hand, might notice that if the attack were to hit him it would have minimal impact. Finally, Emerson would only take a fair amount of damage if hit by the orb's burst.
Taiga just shrugs off the attacks, blasts of energy splashing against heavy armor plating and only inflicting a 3% reduction in his Rider gauge. "Alright then, let's clear this quickly from here out!" The man rushes forward, moving slower than usual thanks to the solid steel of his armor. On the other hand, after closing in on a pixie to about 30ft he'd quickly aim his shotgun toward the foe and smirk, tapping the trigger twice as a spread of metal shards rushes from the weapon, bits of razor sharp steel blasting toward the pixie and if any others were near, they too might be hit in the spread of his shots.
Tai
Seeing the incoming attack, Tai and Agumon both throw up their arms as they brave for the coming explosion. The blast of energy blows the pair back dealing a fair deal of damage in the process. "Tch. It's been awhile since I've been back into the fray. I forgot how much it stings." A: "Well now it's our turn! Let's give 'em everything we got!" The pair nod to each other and stand slowly. "Old man, Emerson! Let's show these guys what real teamwork looks like! Agumon and I will handle the big guy!" With that, the pair rush towards the golem for another attack. Agumon's throat glows once more as he tilts his maw to face just above the golem. A: "PEPPER BREATH!" He looses a single massive orb of flame into the air. Just as the shot seemed to be wasted, Tai leaped up into the air doing a backflip and met the shot with his right leg. "BICYCLE BOMBER!" He puts even more force behind his kick as he launches the orb towards the golem's face.
Let's test this baby out. Don't fail me now, "the best offense is a good defense" mentality! Em traces the trajectory of the ball with his eyes, and as it hits the ground he puts up his right arm, trying to block the attack it produces. Unfortunately, as the burst travels across the ground, Em was unable to actually block much, and ends up falling flat on his behind. Ow, ow, ow... well I guess it's better I learn that now than later... He picks himself up and turns his attention to the enemies before him. The pixies would be easy targets, but the golem's a bit of an issue, especially without a proper weapon. But, seeing how slow the golem is, it was worth a shot! He looks over to Tai to acknowledge his command, and nods. Let's get started! Em begins to run at the pixie to the right of the golem, ramming himself shoulder first into it. If he successfully hits it and manages to push it back, he follows up by spinning and smacking the pixie across the chest.
The pixie would be torn apart almost instantly by the flurry of steel shards. Its body would shatter before dissolving into a black aura that dispersed into the air. The golem would be hit with the attacks face first causing it to be knocked back. Its body began to crack from the sheer force of the attack before slowly crumbling apart. It would finally begin disappearing as well in a similar manner to the Pixie before. The final pixie would try to take the first portion of Em's attack causing its body to crack but it still remained. It would once more try to concentrate energy preparing for an attack but with Em's second strike it would shatter before being able to gather enough energy. The app would once again go off with a new notification. [Greed eliminated. Warning: Elder Greed detected ahead as well as a human entity. Proceed with caution.]
Em laughs, waving his left hand around to push the aura around in the air, mocking the defeat of the pixie. Now you weren't so tough, eh? 2 hits and you're down, and from a SHIELD of all things! How shameful... He finishes his little gloating session and looks down the hallway leading before them. So, we've got company then? A person... I would think it's the kid but would it detect him? I couldn't even, but this does seem to work on a whole other set of rules anyways. Emerson shrugs at his suggestion and motions for the others to follow him, beginning to walk down the hallway.
Tai
Tai lands on the ground beside his partner with a grin. A&T: "Yahoo! We did it!" The pair do a quick hi-five before responding to the message coming from the app. Tai's eyes narrow slightly at the mention of another human entity. "The kid... I hope he's okay! We gotta hurry!" A: "Right!" The pair would begin following Em before bolting past. "Old man! Hurry it up! You too, Em!"
The man's eyes burn, rushing forward with a dash that moves... Fairly quickly for a human being, but nowhere as fast as his usual Rider antics. "I assume it's the kid, and even if not we still gotta get them outta here. Besides, as Parad might say... "The big boss fight is waiting up ahead, so let's end this game with ease!"" There's a blur of speed, gun raised in front of him even as he looks toward Tai and the dinosaur, easily keeping up and even passing by them given the inhuman speed his suit offers. Heavy armor or not, it's still a good bit better than being on foot normally. He'd look back and call out to them with a teasing tone. "Hurry up? I think you guys should hurry up... I may not be a young gun like you two, but what I do have is experience. That, and a good shooting arm. Either way, we've got a mission so let's focus!"
The final area they'd be presented with was a room with an open roof. There would be a square flooring across most of the room but the edges around the floor would be filled with pools of what looked to be lava. The sky wasn't too different from the one they'd be used to but it was blood red rather than blue. In the center of the room lying on the ground would be the boy from before. He would be unconscious and groaning in pain as if being tormented by an unseen force. Boy: "Make it...stop...I don't want to be...afraid anymore..." The app would continue indicating that there was an elder greed in the area but nothing at the moment could be seen around them.
Tai
"Agumon! Keep an eye out for any movement and open fire as soon as you see anything!" A: "You got it Tai!" As they enter the room Tai runs directly to the boy in order to confirm his condition. Even if it was an ambush he had to do this. "Don't worry kid. We're here now! We're gonna beat up the nasty monster that's been chasing you, okay?" He'd crouch down and attempt to lift the boy up as Agumon surveyed the area carefully.
Trying his best to keep up, Emerson finally gets to take a breather as they enter the final room. Rather than going to speak with the kid, Em chooses to stand back and lean against the wall. That is, if there was one. Instead, Em just leans on his shield, making sure that he stays a fair distance away from the lava so if he fell over, he wasn't going to get melted. Whew, you guys sure can run... I may be young but these airways ain't perfect, y'know! Emerson looks around the room, unable to see the "Elder Greed". He then turns his attention to the kid, giving him a suspicious stare. It couldn't be him... could it?
Hoo boy, Snipe isn't quite sure what to say here... But he can't really leave it be. Beyond that, the man would take note of the lava that's nearby, something tells him it'll become relevant when a fight starts. He'd been planning to go near the boy, but with Tai doing that it seems best to hang back. He remains at the doorway, tapping the red button on his gun and watching it flip around to reveal a mostly red sniper rifle, bits of yellow running along up to the barrel and coating the trigger. "I'll play a proper sniper, for now, no sense having everyone in one spot right?" The man pulls the gun upward, bracing it against his should and looking through a scope attached to the top. He'd be focused on looking down it with his right eye, aiming toward the area around the child and Tai. His left, on the other hand, looks outward as the shooter attempts to keep track of movement around himself.
Tai would successfully manage to lift the boy up without much trouble. The boy was completely unconscious and seemed to be unable to move on his own. It was hard to tell if he would even remember this whole incident afterward. It was at that moment that the air directly in front of Tai would begin to shift. The air seemed to condense to form the outline of a large bipedal creature. Its face would be unusually slanted and its arms would form into giant claws at the end that seemed to almost be as large as its head. As it began to form into reality it would immediately slash at Tai as a red aura surrounded its right arm. It seemed to aim for his chest region first as if hoping to inflict some pain rather than going for a killing blow.
Tai
A: "TAI!" Twisting his body to protect the boy in his arms, the creature lands his blow across Tai's back. Dropping to a knee he looks up to the rest of the group. "Gah!? Do it now! It's here! Urk!" Agumon's eyes take on a feral gleam for a moment as he rushes towards his partner. His small stature leaving ample room for Snipe to snipe. As he makes his approach his maw glows once more as he looses another volley of flame. A: "PEPPER BREATH!" Tai would slowly begin inching himself away from the Greed with the boy in his arms. The slash was certainly taking a toll on him.
Em rushes into action as the large beast appears center stage. He begins the fight by ramming into the beast's stomach, not unlike he did to the pixie before. Rather than following up on it, Em would then push off the Elder Greed with his feet, quickly gaining some small amount of distance afterwards. So, you're the big bad? Ugly face, big glowing eyes, sharp claws... yeah, seems like one. Let's see how it likes a little defense. Emerson would next move himself between the Elder Greed and Tai, his shield arm up, ready to protect him from any further damage.
Taiga sighs, he knew something like this was going to happen of course but it's dishearting to see that he was entirely right. "Guess I'll show you why I'm called Snipe now." The man focuses, holding his breath as he moves his scope upwards. He'd aim toward the large eye in the center of his foe's head, centering in on it and pulling the trigger twice in rapid succession, the gun jerks upward despite Snipe's strength. A pair of metal spears blast from the rifle, each one being about a foot and half long, they'd rush out at high speed and soar toward the target without even arcing down. On the other hand, the gun seems to need a moment to recover after just two shots.
The flames would strike at the Elder Greed leaving small burns as the flames seemed to wash over its body. Rather than be bugged by the pain however it would simply surround itself with a strange dark red aura before letting out an ear-piercing roar. This roar would be interrupted by Em slamming into the Greed with their shield. This pushed it back for a moment as the red energy continued to coat it. It would be Taiga's shot that put it off balance finally. The Greed would be sent into a flurry of pain as the bullets pierced its large eye causing it to crack like a crystal of some kind. It reached towards its eyes with both claws as if trying to get the bullets out. In the process of doing this it let out another roar as the red aura from before would all at once expand outward from it. The aura instantly would light a blaze attempting to knock any near it away with both flames and force. After the aura remained for a few seconds it would disperse as the creature's eyes began to push the bullets out and reform. It would stand for a moment trying to recover from the exertion its attack and the bullets caused it.
Tai
Knocked over by the force, Tai scrambles up to his feet as he makes a break for the hallway. He sits the boy down against a wall before turning his attention back to the fight. "Let's keep it up everyone!" Agumon, who braced himself before the wave of heat struck him, would nod in agreement. A: "Time to launch our counterattack!" Agumon closes the gap between himself and the Elder Greed in no time. He launches himself into the air as his right arm glows red. A: "DRAMON UPPERCUT!" He strikes the Greed with his massive claw and drags it up along its torso as he ascends. Tai would follow up by rushing towards his falling partner and springboarding off his head to deliver a dive kick to the creature's chest.
Emerson keeps his shield raises as the aura pushes him back from the Elder Greed. He stays on his feet, but doesn't really avoid the attack much in the end. He quickly gets back into action, running towards the beast once again and slamming into it's eyes with a jumping shield bash. I'm assuming the eyes are a weak point... But they regenerate. Hmm, tricky tricky...
"Alright, It's weakened so let's press our advantage. If you have a big move of some kind now's the time to get serious." The man pulls his Gashat from the Driver, inserting it into a small slot on the belt's left side as he rushes forward toward the foe, his belt shouting out as he moves. "KIMEWAZA! ECLIPSE CRITICAL STRIKE!" Snipe leaps high into the air, his gun vanishing as the man aims both feet toward the Elder Greed and a mix of yellow and red energy begins to cover his legs. He'd go up about 40 feet by the time he begins descending. "Now, I'll show you a Rider's true strength!" He begins rocketing downward, flares of energy pulsing downward from his legs and attempting to slam into the foe. Finally, Snipe would slam toward the thing's skull with his kick, the red and yellow energy around him taking the shape of a pair of large bullets forming on the bottom of his feet, the kick would be aiming them toward the thing's eyes as Snipe presses downward with incredible force. With that, the man's finisher would be over and he'd begin quickly aiming to dash away from his foe, of course, the recovery time while he's falling back down to the ground and then trying to move might leave him open if the move didn't do enough.
The uppercut strike would cause the creature to open its arms leaving it unable to bash away Tai as he kicks the Greed right in its chest. The force of the kick would knock it away leaving it to slowly try and recover. Em's shield bash would, in fact, knock into the eye of the Greed but it would be like metal clashing against metal. The eyes were clearly made of more than just simple flesh or metal. The bash might leave the creature stunned for a mere moment but it would prove to do little else. Snipe's kick would drill into the Greed's eye with a large amount of force causing it to begin cracking again. The Greed, however, would begin to surround itself with an even darker red energy causing the eye to rapidly regenerate once more. With the end of Snipe's attack, the Greed would turn a deep shade of red. It's movement even faster than before would allow it to immediately raise its claw before striking forward with so much force that the air itself would break around it. Its aim would be to strike at Snipe directly but anyone caught in the air current around it would be knocked away or end up being hit as well.
The man raises his arms up, blocking the blow of his foe and pushing against it for a moment... Despite his great power, however, the man is sent flying backward, metal bouncing and scraping along the ground as the Rider is propelled backward and flies through the air. Despite the pain he's feeling as his gauge drops down to 70%, he'd quickly reform his shotgun. For a moment Snipe's about to fly into the lava, but the recoil of a few shotgun blasts aimed toward the wall would cut his movement short and instead leave him tumbling down by the edge. With that, he'd stumble back upward and glare at his foe with the gun raised toward it in a defensive pose. "Gah... Okay, next time I'm not doing a Rider Kick on this thing, you'd think I'd know better than to try and use melee attacks by now but apparently not. Anyway, pain aside I'm fine over here so let's keep going."
Tai
Agumon and Tai drop to the floor and brace themselves as best they can to not be knocked away by the force or the attack itself. The strength of the attack was still enough to drain them of some stamina as they gripped onto the floor for dear life. A: "He's mad, Tai!" "Good observation buddy. Any ideas for how to stop him?" A: "Working together?" "It's a start." The pair rise as soon as a chance permits them to and they'd jump into action. Agumon would jump towards the Greed's right and Tai to its left. The pair would then strike at the creatures legs with their previous attacks.
Raising his shield, Em blocks the direct attack but ends up getting flung back by the burst of air. His shield scratches across the ground as he skids to a halt, slowly picking himself up. It's a weak point, but it also seems to... absorb the damage and deal it back with that aura. Hey, should we make a plan with this guy? We shouldn't be taking it lightly, obviously, but mindlessly whaling on the core doesn't seem to be working. Em looks to his companions for a response before raising his shield to prepare himself for the next attack.
The creature would be so triumphant over its successful attack towards Snipe that it would fail to even notice that Tai and Agumon had already recovered from its successful attack. Despite the creatures large claws and head its legs were actually much thinner and designed more for leaping and charging than for defense. Having its legs struck at directly while off guard would cause the massive creature to fall on its face. It would try clawing at the ground as it fell to regain its balance. The Greed would finally be left open to any attacks.
Tai
A cocky grin would run across both Tai's and Agumon's faces as the behemoth was caught off guard and toppled. "Now's our chance for an all-out attack! Old man and Emerson, make it count!" A: "We'll strike the back, you strike the head!" With that, Tai and Agumon would both leap onto the Greed's back and prepare their assault. Tai's right leg would begin to glow red as Agumon started to run to his partner. Just as he reaches Tai, he hops into the air and lands on Tai's leg as he kicks upwards. Now soaring into the air, Agumon's throat begins to glow alongside his two massive claws. At the apex of his ascent he launches a single large fireball at the creatures back and chases behind it as he slowly begins to spin. He gains more and more speed as he spins until he is engulfed by his own flames. A: "DRAMON TORNADO!" The spinning vortex of flame would continue barreling down towards the creature's back as Tai leaps out of the way.
Hmm... It seems wide open yet again, and Taiga's had some time to recover. In fact, he might just have an idea here. "Alright then, I think I have something of an idea..." The man takes hold of his shotgun and gets a bit closer, he's still, however, a fair bit away as he holds down the trigger. Rather than rapid-fire, the gun would begin charging up energy, yellow power glowing inside of the barrel for a while as Snipe charges in even closer and eventually gets near the head. He'd press the gun into it and let go of the trigger, a huge blast of shrapnel rushing from his weapon as the man leaps into the air, massive numbers of sharp metal shards would fly from his shotgun as recoil sends the Rider flying backward, and he'd tap the red button on his gun, quickly transforming it back to a sniper rifle. "Now then, let's push it a bit more." As he flies backward the man would hold down the trigger once more, this time, however, the energy gathered up by his weapon would be red. And as he looks down the scope to aim toward his foe's eye and releases, a huge beam of spiraling red would rush out of his weapon's barrel for a bit, raw power and heat tearing into his foe in the form of a laser... Once his attack ends, the man would pant heavily and simply hold his rifle close to his chest.
Emerson watches from a short distance as the two put forth their full power in taking down the golem. He then looks down at the shield on his arm. "... What am I supposed to do with this thing again..?" After the other two finish their attacks, Emerson approaches the golem and whacks it on the head with the shield, then kicks it with his right leg. "Yeah, take that you, uh... J-just die already."
The behemoth lets out a final roar as the flames smash into its back. Its skin would be roasted as it tries to get up once more but the vortex of flames would continue damaging it more and more. The Elder Greed would shout in pain before Snipe led his assault as well. The shrapnel would fly into the body of the monster as it begins bleeding out with a red smoke. The final touch would be the beam that would pierce straight through its body leaving its corpse to fall to the ground. Em would walk up and hit it in the head followed by a kick. The monster would finally vanish in a mass of black smoke. After a moment of waiting, the air and ground around the group would sparkle with a white shining light as they could feel themselves being dragged back to their own world. They'd appear back in the alley with the kid laying on the floor where the gate was. The app would once again speak. [Gate Cleared. Gate has now entered stage 1. Code: Yellow.] ???: "It seems there was no reason for me to get involved then..." A figure in a white coat with their face covered would be watching the group from the entrance of the alley. Their voice would sound heavily distorted by some unknown means and they looked like some sort of vigilante in white armor. White Shroud: "Well, if the gate is already taken care of so it looks like my job here is already done."
"Heh, are you kidding? With guys like these two around, who needs to do anything themself anymore..." He shrugs, chuckling, but also trying to hide his embarrassment from being fairly useless during the fight. "So, Blanche, if I may call you by that, you seem to be a bit more acquainted with this than we are. Care to give an explanation, or should we just continue to blindly wander our way to victory and death?"
Tai
Upon entering the real world, Tai wastes no time in confirming the safety of the boy. He rushes to his side and checks his condition. "Hey! C'mon pal, we're back! Rise and shine sleepyhead!" As the notification chimes, Tai makes note of the words without paying them much mind for now. Agumon, however, sensed another presence before it even spoke up. The pair would look to the end of the alley at the strange figure in white. "Who are you?" Agumon skipped questions and approached the man with a curious expression on his face. A: "Your job is done? But you didn't do anything."
Taiga would gaze at this newcomer, face looking slightly wary as he takes stock of the man in white. "I wouldn't say no reason, we got by on luck this time... Next time I'll be ready for this Eclipse place, however, that being said I am curious in what way this happens to be your job." He'd flick some black and white hair from his eye, staring over at the masked figure as if he's trying to assess them as a threat... Which he is of course, but there's no need to say that out loud is there? "Besides that, I'm Taiga Hanaya. And I guess we might be seeing a bit of each other if you're looking into these gate things. Wouldn't exactly be right for a doctor to just leave people to fend for emselves."
The man would begin walking towards where the gate was while addressing everyone without turning to face them directly. White Shroud: "You saw it for yourself, the world know as Eclipse. Only those with a strong spiritual connection are capable of seeing it normally and those with strong sense can feel where a gate might be or if a Greed invades our world. Eclipse is a world that is not separate from our own but instead resides beside it. It's a reality that bleeds into our own from time to time through what is called an Eclipse gate. How strange though, to meet this many wielders here at once. None of you seem to be in any particular groups either. If you're normal civilians it might be better for you to forget about Eclipse all together and leave this to the professionals. Like this child here..." The man in white would simply wave his hand over the Child's head and a strange energy would surround them for a moment before dispersing. "They'll wake up believing this all to have been a dream. Unfortunately, this trick doesn't work on other wielders."
Tai
Tai and Agumon both cross their arms as they mull over the man's words. "It certainly isn't the first time we've dealt with this type of invasion..." A: "I doubt it'll be the last either..." The pair drop their heads with a sigh. "Well, no point in wondering if we should stay or go." A: "'Cause we're gonna do the right thing anyways!" The duo nod to each other before looking back at the white clad man with a grin.
"Tsk, professionals? You're acting like we're new to fighting or something. I've been fighting for most my life, and I know these two aren't newcomers either. Besides, we beat you to the punch on this one, and we didn't even know what we were doing. Given proper information, who says we can't outperform you completely? In any case, what harm is there in a little more capable aid to go around, eh?" Emerson raises an eyebrow and walks over to the man in white, extending out a hand. "Whaddya say, Blanche? We in, or are you gonna keep treating us like we're not worthwhile?"
Leave it to the pros? This guy sounds like Taiga did back in the day, that having been said... "I can't speak for anyone else, but I won't just leave it be. I'm a Kamen Rider, and I'm sure you don't know what that means..." He'd pause for a moment, giving the other man a dead serious stare before he glances down at the belt on his waist with a smirk. "But I'll sum it up, it means that I'll fight to defend people who can't defend themselves. I'm no hero that much is sure, but even so, I can't just sit around and wait when some innocent person might be dying. I've risked my life fighting for people plenty of times before. So to your offer of leaving it to pros..." The smirk vanishes, his lips going flat as an utterly neutral expression and voice take hold in Taiga. The shift in his tone almost sounds like an impression, not that anyone else would know of whom. "I say no thank you."
The man in white would look at the group for a moment before making his way over to a wall. He'd quickly also toss Em a cellphone of an odd make. It would seem to be of a brand called Xiphone. White Shroud: "If you're so keen on continuing then you'll need this. I at least don't wish death on you. If you want to keep risking your lives then it's not my job to get involved but you should keep in mind that the gate you saw today was of low-level risk. If you continue to get involved with Eclipse you will begin to know what true horror is." Witht hat the man would seem to tap on the wall of the alley for a moment as a segment of it was enveloped in white light. He would simply pass through the light before it quickly faded away and he was gone. A new app would suddenly appear on all of their phones. It seemed to be some sort of summoning app that would allow them to bring their weapons of choice out under the right conditions. A way to send out a signal that would invoke the power they were able to harness for the first time.
Em catches the phone, examining it on both sides before turning it on. "Don't really need one, but I guess it couldn't hurt. Definitely useful, since it'll let me into the Eclipse place again... Plus, there's this." He taps on the new app and stretches out his arm. In a flash of light, the shield returns to his arm. "Huh. Neat, for what it's worth. Well, it's been a long day. I think I'll go... entertain myself." He taps on the app again, causing the shield to disppear. He then stretches his arms, before heading out of the alleyway, waving to the others as he walks out of view.
