The Super Monkey Ball series has done it again with its newest game. Super Monkey Ball XVI. After XV came and somewhat disappointed fans with it being an uncompleted game, they seemed to have learned from their mistakes. XVI is great so far. The world seems pretty interesting and the story so far is pretty good. Of course Im not done with it yet, the game has only released three days ago. Im going in blind except for seeing a bit of gameplay in trailers. I saw a review give it a 8/10, and that is pretty good! The cons were a bit about side quests and how the story slowed down for a bit, plus a couple nit picks about gameplay, other than that Im glad that it has redeemed itself from the tragedy that was XV. The characters are really cool so far and the main character, Aito, is pretty relatable, at least for myself. Yet again it is focusing on four main party members with some extra party members who can join for a short time. The main party members are cool and even the side ones have interesting stories and characters. Again I haven't gotten too far, but from where I am at the characters are strong. Onto gameplay, it is fun and easy to pick up, but it is a challenge to master. Theres a lot of unique things to do in battle. From Party attacks to skills and spells, theres a lot to master. Battles are pretty exciting and damn the battle music is epic. Speaking of music, it is phenomenal! Yet again Super Monkey Ball delivers on its grand soundtrack. It has been an absolute joy listening to the music while rolling through the open world. The open world itself is pretty neat to explore. Theres a lot to find and Im only up to the second section of it. There isn't much dullness throughout except for a few blank sections, but they hold some nice scenery! The story hasn't dragged yet and is keeping a nice pace. Don't want to spoil anything because it is a good story so far! Im only about 20 hours in and people say its a pretty hefty game, so Im going to be putting a lot of time into it, but I always put a lot of my time into the Super Monkey Ball games.
