Phantom Thieves IRL
I know this sounds like something a complete fanboy would say and do but I and people from a community I'm in online have been thinking about creating an actual thieves guild community through social media where we can expose really fucked up people online for example pedophiles online and such. Just fucked up people in general and use evidence and other things against them in an attempt to make them confess and apologize publicly. We've already done it a couple times but branding ourselves would make it badass. Thoughts?
That won't work out, sorry to break your bubble.
You're also basically the 40th person to talk about this kind of thing.
I think you should. It be a great way to fight back in the world, I was pushed around most of my life and something like this can help others like me push back. I say DO IT!
Good on paper, slim to no chances of working in reality. As said before, you're not the only one who suggested it. Unless you know a talking cat who can help us get Personas, probably not gonna be a great thing to do.
The way you go about it is probably super illegal. You should just stop before you do something you regret. Leave it to the pros. You're playing a very dangerous game.
Unless you know a talking cat :eyes:
Nobody even mentions us talking butterflies for acquiring Personas anymore...
Nobody even mentions us talking butterflies for acquiring Personas anymore... Butterflies suck and so do you.
The way you go about it is probably super illegal. You should just stop before you do something you regret. Leave it to the pros. You're playing a very dangerous game. Yeah but the thing is I've done similar things with friends a couple of times and I've actually helped in a case before. I'm thinking about this realistically, of course, I'm not gonna go out and put myself in danger trying to imitate some video game. I just thought it would be cool.
So let me summarize. Klib: "That's illegal." You: "I've done it already." Think about subtext before saying things.
But really, don't try it, it most likely won't work.
Unless a butterfly tries to attack you, I don't know. I mean, wouldn't it be like blackmailing or being a vigilante?
The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Vigilantes are no different than the criminals they pursue. You aren't above the law and even humoring this idea is ludicrous. But hey, it doesn't mean don't stick up for those who are being harrassed and what not. There are ways for you to go about that without tracking down bad guys and using your own methods.
I second the hell out of that.
This reminds me of the concept of Communism for some reason.
I'm with Kalib on this one. Standing up for others is good and all, but vigilantism is far from the best way to go about it. Even P5 mentions that. You probably should stay safe. Going out of your way to find criminals is dangerous, even if it's online.
I agree with what most people said here but i have to add something. This concept has been tried before 2 times and if you wish i can link up all of those threads. Needless to say that even with all the good intention in this world this thing never worked. I suggest you look up the search bar for forums threads next time to avoid repeating the same topics over and over.
I could have sworn we had a rule about these kinds of topics, but since I guess I'm wrong I will just stare and shake my head disapprovingly at you for the moment.
So let me summarize. Klib: "That's illegal." You: "I've done it already." Think about subtext before saying things. Stating that I ended up helping in a case I thought would show I wasn't doing anything illegal, maybe I should've worded it better. I understand the risks but I feel as though my friends and I have experience in dealing with similar situations and if we had never taken some risks we would've never done the good we've done in the past. Just thinking about expanding our group and making an image for ourselves. I was thinking about the similarities between how we go about things similar to the Phantom Thieves but of course, things are more realistic and there are actual consequences.

Seriously, like everyone has said that's most likely... no, definitely illegal. You would be basically looking into peoples private lives and exposing that to the public. You might expose someone bad but unless they killed someone your punishment would be much worse. Please leave rotten people to the police and don't take matters into your own hands. That could get you into much more trouble.
