A question about Paper Mario: TTYD

So I haven't played the game and I just wanted to post this in case anyone knows an answer to my question. In the Shadow Queen fight, she absorbs all of the audience members part of the way through the fight, to heal all of her HP.. So if you were to, somehow, only have one audience member, what would happen?

Pretty sure its programmed so you can't have just one audience member.

Yeah, the final boss is programmed to come in with a packed audience no matter how poorly youâ€™re doing, presumably because no one wants to miss the climax

Oh, that's pretty interesting. That does get me wondering if someone could have the game to make it so you only have one audience member on the final boss, because it would be really interesting to see what would happen.
