OoT Online beta
So, keepign an eye on everything, there is now a beta out for Ocarina of Time Online. This is a Co-Op server that allows you to play Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time with multiple people. I'm at work and still trying to figure out how this works, and plan to keep you guys posted. Until I can figure out how the files work (I'm not even going to share them just yet, as I'm not sure about the rules of it from the discord server I'm eyeing) I'll keep you guys posted. Here's a video to let you know what to expect: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzzKl1R1q_8
Seems interesting, always neat to see projects like this out there.
I wish I could play it, but my internet is the worst thing imagineable.
i wanna play oot online with jokermod
How to run the OoT Online as a client: Step 1: Go to https://github.com/hylian-modding/OotModLoader/releases and download the latest GUI version zip. Step 2: Extract the zip into an empty folder. Step 4: Put your 1.0 OoT ROM in the "ROM" folder. Step 5: Open "OoTModLoader-GUI.exe" Step 6: If "Windows Security Alert" shows up, make sure the private network box is checked and click "allow access". Step 7 During the first-time setup, the program will install bizhawk. Wait for the button to finish installing bizhawk. Step 8: After Bizhawk is installed, close the program and reopen it. Step 9: You should see the config loaded. Change the settings accordingly to your preferences. Make sure the "Server" tab has the right information in it, like the server IP. Step 10: Once ready, press "Connect to Server". Step 11: If all is setup properly, Bizhawk should load the emulator with the ROM. Step 12: Configure emulator settings to your preferences. Afterwards you are ready to go!
Message me for the ROM.
Once all of the above are set up, make sure you hit up the Customzie Tab. This is where you can change the color of your Tunic. On the connection tab, change your Nickname. In order to sync up with people, you will need to change the Lobby Name, and it needs to match another person's lobby name (case sensitive) to join people. We can also inject mods into this too, like Randomizers.
Some word of warning here: Event flag progress is saved on the Name Lobby. Your item progress is saved on your actual save file. You can technically join someone's lobby with a completed save file, and you can inject all your items into the player's lobby, potentially ruining the game. Make sure you work with the host before you join a game to avoid causing issues. Otherwise, if you need to save and quit due to time, or bugs, save the game, and rejoin the lobby with the save game you were using to continue on from where you were at. Also, enemies and time cycles are not synced. It's very possible to be out in the field during the day while you are watching someone fighting stalphos at night, and you can't help them. Boss HP is synced, but not their moves. You all fight your own boss, so you'll watch people on your screen slashing at air.
