Yusuke's Ultimate Persona design grew on me, but I wish they'd used something other than Susano-o. He's already been someone's Ultimate Persona twice in this series, christ.
I do actually like Ann's and Haru's, and Makoto's is pretty cool (though it'd be cooler if she still rode it like Johanna).
What's REALLY disappointing is that they tied the evolutions to Confidant completion again like in P4. It's a really weak way of progressing their character development, imo. Making it this optional thing just makes it feel really insignificant.
The game doesn't even bother to acknowledge that your party members' Personas have evolved at all. I maxed Ryuji before I recruited Makoto, and in the subsequent text chat, him and Yusuke talked about Ryuji's Persona riding a boat as though it hadn't been Seiten Taisei for like a month already.
The way evolutions were handled in Persona 3 were far, far better. Every character's Persona evolved when they reached renewed resolutions within themselves, which was a much stronger way of keeping the Personas relevant to the characters as they developed.
Man. The whole sequence in P5 where you talk to your party members in the Velvet Room jail cells would have been SO PERFECT for triggering everyone's Persona evolutions, too! Morgana excluded, but he's automatic anyway.
God, though... they had a perfectly good setup and they blew it. :\
