The real mystery is who the heck made the code? Surely it's not some random passerby, it has to be someone on the forum who we're familiar with. My bets are on HahaRIP.

I think Mishima the Admin did it cause he knows we're all a bunch a nerds with to much time.

How long do you think it takes to make a bunch of puzzles and connect them together that might last for a while? From every ARG creator I have talked to, it takes about 1 month to make a story for an ARG, then about 2-3 months for the puzzles. That is for a very small ARG. Big ones, like ILoveBees, and Year Zero, can take YEARS to prepare for.

OOC: Well unless IAmThou in fact knew all along that Thot was going to be the first palace, this was likely cobbled together in the span of a few days. Since we didn't realize Thot technically qualified as a palace until yesterday.

It's something fun to partake in for the meantime, regardless.
