I have unfortunately stopped playing most multiplayer games.

Plus I suffer from a weird glitch that I just like to pretend doesn't exist.

Though if anyone else has heard of this... basically my friend code Mii shows as what it should be, but everyone else sees a different Mii that I used for literally like a day over 3 years ago. Despite all of my efforts and even transferring my data to multiple new 3DS this issue still lingers.

I have a 3Ds but the only multiplayer games I play are Mario kart and Smash bros. A game I can reccomemd to you if you like 3rd person shooters would be Kid Icarus Uprising. It has an online mode too but I don't know how active it is anymore, but the campain is amazing.
