I too, am trying to decipher how a girl carrying her girlfriend counts as lewd.

But yes the anime is Symphogear, and it's pretty gay. It's not yuri like Sakura Trick, you won't get girls kissing (unfortunately). Still lesbians though I mean Hibiki and Miku sleep together.

Symphogear has three seasons at 13 episodes each. Season 4 actually airs this July so this is a good time to get into it. So that's 39 episodes in total currently.
Not too long, but Klib and I literally marathoned Season 1 and 2 without any breaks so we spent like 13 hours watching it earlier

Just a warning, Symphogear really knows how to make effective use of cliffhangers so if you just watch one episode at a time you'll be cussing under your breath. I once watching Symphogear Season 1 Episode 1 before a school day once, and couldnt watch any more til I got home and my mind was a mess of questions wondering what the fuck happened in the last 30 seconds of that episode
