Any Advice for Going into SMT: Nocturne?
After looking into it, I decided that either today or tomorrow I'll be buying the game. So I decided to poke around here and see what advice people can offer.
Buffs
Also it's not gonna be easy...
I've played SMT IV, so I know our distant relative that is the mainline series is a lot more difficult than the Persona games. I've also heard that grinding for stats doesn't work well?
@Ari3s
People just say be prepared when playing SMT games.

That it's like the "Dark Souls of JRPGs".
Lol, people think SMT games are hard
Pants down, lube up. Never get rid of your starting Pixie. Not a joke.

Use buffs, get rakukaja tarukaja and ESPECIALLY makakaja to make a simple cast of Media as good as diaharan.

Abuse weaknesses, make your character a strength build, NEVER get rid of the move "Focus" when you get it.
Make Uzume when you can.
@Marsh
Yo I let my pixie evolve into High Pixie.

Is that bad?
I would say make your character as physical focused as possible.
Make sure to get at least Ame-no-Uzume and someone with Rakukaja and/or Sukukaja as early as you can, preferably before facing off with Matador.
@IamThou it's fine

I'm proud of this forum.
Patience, lots of patience, it's gonna be hard
Matador is a little bitch, all you need to beat him on normal is the void force magatama and sukunda/fog breath/sukukaja spam. Grinding for levels to get fuse uzume is for people who keep dying to andalucia crits on hard mode and want the suffering to end
Oh and make sure to save some cash to buy some Magatama when they appear. There's one "Magatama that shows up not long before Matador, and buying it and ingesting it basically saved my life from him in both my playthroughs.
Keep in mind all my advice is probably dumb and based on my own experience as someone who is shit at the Press Turn system.
Use buffs, negotiate often, try to recruit/fuse everything.
Pass+attack will leave you with 3 full press turns.

Attack+pass will leave you with 2 full turns and 1 flashing turn.

Just attacking twice will leave you with 2 full press turns.

If you keep that in mind, you can be much more efficient. For example, you can do focus+attack on one character in the same round without hitting any weaknesses just by passing on regular non-flashing press turns, while getting in the same number of actions overall.
@IamThou

Like he said, its okay if Pixie changes. You can even fuse her, but you need to keep the resulting demon.
Get Daisoujou. After that, make sure you teach mana drain to every single demon that can learn it.

Congladuration, you have now broken Nocturne.
