I've been quiet about PMs lately, that's because some other Phansite matters took priority. Now that most of them had been dealt with it's time to get serious about PMs.

First things first - you probably remember this early prototype:

Unfortunely it's scrapped.
I decided that PMs will be working on entirely new server. The reason for this is to enable instant messaging (something that current server doesn't allow).
Don't worry though, it will be integrated with forum, which means that all existing accounts will automatically have access to PMs, no additional registration needed. There will be other things like forum notifications about new PM activity etc.
If you want to test it today here's the link, however keep in mind few things:
- It's really early build, its purpose is only to test instant messaging.
- Messages are not archivized yet.
- It will probably crash if there are too many people since it's running on my PC and not on dedicated hosting.

It's still a long way off before it's finished, so if you have any suggestions what could be implemented in the future, feel free to share. Current to-do list:

- Private messages (duh, it's PM after all. So far there's only one big room)
- Messages archivization
- Ignore list
- Confidants (friend list)
