Calling a Meeting: Discussion of the "True Culprit"
Just recently, we received two new ciphers from our cheshire cat friend. The first, according to him, was a test devised by the author of these messages for whatever reason. The second, however, is where things get interesting. It's mysterious, ominous, and concerning. The message, when deciphered, is as follows:

"YOUR TRUE CULPRIT HAST DWELLED AMONGST YOU SINCE THE VERY START OF YOUR JOURNEY. FOR SO LONG HAVE THEY PUT ON A MASK THAT MADE THEM ACXlCEPTABLE BY YOU ALL AND MADE YOU UNSUSPICIOUS OF THEM. LIKE A WOLF IN SHEEPS CLOTHING THEY WAIT HUNGRILY FOR THE MOMENT TO STRIKE AND SWALLOW YOU ALL WHOLE AND ENVELOP YOU IN THE SAME DARKNESS THAT HAS ENTANGLED ITSELF IN THEIR VERY BEING. SEEK THEM OUT AND VANUISH THEM AND YOU WILL FINALLY SEE AN END TO YOUR QUEST."
Who are you "calling"?
Too many words
@AspectAnatoria
Anyone and everyone involved in this whole ordeal.
Not me
Totally not me
lets look at the thot fight and see who was in it
*Serious face and crossed arms*
I am here.
I don't want to get involved in serious shit
That's near the beggining, even if it's someone with multiple accounts I assume they mean just one rp
Also if it is @Ari3s, can i say I called it bck in early may or even april
1. This is not a roleplay 2. I don't even know what your even doing.
*enters in puzzled by the message*

What's this about @Ari3s?
Oh, i think the true culprit is @Ari3s, have done since the beggining
I think they are trying to decipher a code left by a cheshire cat
I'm not...entirely sure how I would pull it all off, but I guess I can understand why you would still think that, @KensukeKurosaki.

But still, the statement is clear: someone in this group of ours isn't who they say they are, and is about ready to make a move.
@Ari3s, you are at the center of all the complicated stuff, take it too seriously (not that it is a bad thing#) you are one of the most dedicated, therefore it would make sense that you want to see your plan worked, you also understand all the complicated shit as if it were easy, as if it's not complicated to you because you made it...no i don't have evidence but you are very fishy
well i joined not long ago so it cant be me
Also you are the one who moves along the plot lots of the time, you make these kind of threads more than anyone else, you have too been here since the beginning
I get that. I'm the most suspicious person here. I won't deny that, I've callously set myself that way through all this.
@KensukeKurosaki, aren't you accusing @Ari3s too much?
Ahem....

Greed.
I don't think she is the culprit...
I guess it's my fault for having prior experience in cryptography. I understand the whole, "guilty until proven innocent," but it could also be said that it's suspicious how adamantly you push that I'm this "true culrpit."
*warps in and listens, leaning in a corner*
"He takes a seat and listen"
@Hillock is my second guess by the way
But having cryptography experience doesn´t make you a murderer.
Why me?
And it's only more suspicious when you accuse people who accuse you.
@Hillock are you in any of the fights, did you fight
Btw I didn´t accused no one.
(Good god can we have fun trying to solve this little riddle? I don't know why people that claim to not care or are uninterested in the RP section of the site as a whole feel the need to comment and bog things down. Christ it gets annoying so damn fast.)

@Ari3s

It's been a while since I've seen you around these parts. What a nice time to come back, right?

Anyway, regarding the message, the main thing is to determine when "beginning" starts. If we go back to the early days of the site, Mod Joker comes to mind as a possible "culprit". If it's some time after that, I think it'd fall around the first time we got codes of this nature.

Kensuke, I really think you need to put more into your posts before you post them.
@Ari3s I agree, feel free to accuse me, but give me a reason to think It's me
@Hillock
It doesn't. I'm no murderer. I've never killed a person in my life. I've hurt a lot of people, physically and/or emotionally. I won't deny that. But I'm no murderer.
Yep: In gluttony´s case. I helped from the start.
Also I cant stay in all fights because of my job at the agency
But, yeah, @Akamoto_Shinji can tell you
*raises hand*
I'm a murderer if that helps... *chuckles*
@Delta-M, this is just my gut feeling dude, I don't know enough, but if its to do with other shit, Joker likes to sit back and watch people do shit....i wonder if he has a spinny chair and a white cat
@Akamoto well, I try to use non-lethal force...
I said try...
Also I would like to point out that I am somewhat suspicious for always wanting to save the sins, rather than kill them
But I wasn´t at the beginning, meaning Thothian happened before me joining, so I am guilty free.
@Delta-M
Ha-ha, yeah, tell me about it. But definitely an above par analogy. I can't see Joker being our guy, I can't see a motive. But anyone can be our culprit at this point.
Guy's do we have any info that actually leads to a culprit?
RYUJI SAKAMOTO IS THE TRUE CULPRIT!!!
Get 'em, authorities
... He/she/it was on the team from the beginning?
No we don't, which makes your accusations baseless.
Who was there from the "beginning"?
Mona please, maybe you're the culprit trying to get rid of Ryuji.
RYUJI SAKAMOTO WAS THERE FROM THE BEGINNING
No, we don't. The message was pretty vague in that regard. I'm not sure if this author person will give us another message to clear that up, or what.
Mona what the hell are you doing.
RYUJI DID 9/11
Yeah, that's what I thought, it's also why I said that @Ari3s is only my gut feeling, but if it helps at least we have narrowed it down I guess....by the way who is our cheshire cat friend?
Why is Mona still trying to be funny?
It's just Mona being Mona, don't mind him. *throws some fatty tuna his way*
Oh, -V-. We refer to him as the Cheshire Cat since his original avatar was a silhouette of it.
Oh.....where does -V- get this info
How do we know -V- is not mastermind?
He sais the messages are from his master
According to him, he's only the messager. This author guy gives him these messages, and he just encrypts them from what it seems. But you're right, -V- could easily be the culrpit too.
The messages are from his master...who creates them....and we have no way to authenticate it....-V- is an old user, who tells us the enemies words that only his master seem to know, therefore either -V- or his master is the mastermind. How does that sound...btw @Ari3s, im not suspicious of you in my no. 1 place no more
But if he's been here from the beginning, and he's the enemy, why would he give us a clue that makes him suspicious?
Perhaps that would be to do with motive?
It could simply be to make it more interesting, the real trial may be to figure out the author, the master
Taking things at face value and determining that "beginning" = Narcissus event, we've got the initial members of P.H.A.N.S. (which I myself, am a part of), potentially members of the THOT Patrol, and users that were in the Narcissus fight.

(I'm on my phone so I can't dig up old threads to get user names myself)

There's also the butterfly (Persona), Yuki (bluhairedemo), Yu Narukami and dome other notable and recognizable names we can pull from to focus the theorizing.

Most of these people have no motive like with Mod Joker, but we need to start looking somewhere, right?
Should i use my phoenix wright skills?
We won't be able to know who it is till later, stop discussing there is no real point?
Interrogate everyone!
The last time we did this we compiled information, did some digging and came to the solution. I see no reason why we can't do that again
I wouldn't start going crazy and witch hunting for traitors.

We aren't even sure -V- is on our side, he could be trying to further wedge us apart.
You know, there's one thing I noticed that's kind of bothering me. The cipher method used for this message. Previously, the main two were Caesar, and Vigenere. But this one was Playfair. Why the sudden change in encryption method? Is it a different author, or?
I guess one could also say that the word "Playfair" itself could be saying something? I dunno.
....yeah you are getting more sus
if they all ready had multiple it wouldn't be weird to use more, your calling it out is weirder, like your trying to throw people off
Maybe he did it to distract us, because we didn´t saw that coming.
I trust @Ari, she is not the culprit
That's hardly my intent. I'm just pointing out the sudden change in method.
My intent is less of a witch hunt, and more of an examination of the past. Since the message makes me think we should look back and see if anyone has changed over time.

If this is referring to more recent events only, the only person I can think of is Kazuya. Pointing fingers doesn't help much, but I'd rather not let this sit for too long unsolved.

The change in method does bear thinking about. It could be a subtle clue that we should look to our more code savvy friends, someone that's about "playing fair" or even just a red herring. There's less to go off of here than last time. All we can say that's constant, assuming -V- continues to tell only the truth, is that the "culprit" is among us, and not someone that joined us or the community recently.
