Sorry this isn't targeted towards newer fans, but I'm curious. To older fans, what do you think is the best addition/improvement Persona 5 made, and how do you want it to be expanded upon in the future?
Oh! Sayaka, I know one way Social Links could've been expanded on, which is by integrating them into the plot more.
The game that I think does this well is Devil Survivor 2. One particular instance of this is where if you don't have a character's Fate Rank (S.Link rank) high enough by a certain point in the game, they die. I think something like this could've worked to P5's advantage. Especially in one particular instance... *COUGH PALACE 7 COUGH*
The best re-addition to me is what they brought back from P1 (Guns, having strange status effects like hunger, and negotiation).
The best new thing to me is they made traversing a dungeon so much more fun, as well as making sneak attacks never get old to pull off (at least to me).
The next addition doesn't need to go the stealth route, since thievery should be a one time thing. But I'd like to see another way that makes moving around feel like it means something.
Though since everyone's saying that I'll say another thing I liked was the ability to switch party members in combat. As one of my biggest complaints with P4 was that once someone left the party they were never coming back.
While I can't think of any way the Confidant abilities can be improved, you know what I do like and want to see more of?
How Confidants can end up meeting and talking to eachother in some optional events. Like Mishima and Ryuji on the town, Ryuji and Kawakami fishing or Makoto and Hifumi at the bookstore.
Seeing more scenes of the Confidants interacting with eachother is a really good idea to make it feel like one big group instead of like a bunch of different people tied together by one dude who can't talk.
For me, it's the fact they gave the MC more of a personality.
That, and the fact that they went looking for trouble, instead of always being on the defense. Granted, the majority of the time, you were constantly trying to get out of a situation you would have avoided if you stayed home, it also gave you a sense that you were actually in control of the situation to a larger degree than the previous titles.
So do you think that the idea of having Confidants have a larger role to the overall story would be a bad thing or a good thing for P5 in the way I described it akin to Devil Survivor 2?
Yeah the U.I. Was godly. I could spend so much time just looking at the menus instead of playing the game. They have to keep making the U.I. this stylized or it'll just feel odd
Almighty is pretty meh in Persona, so I think it being so easy to get is fine. I do like the idea of quest-exclusive personas and skills. Give us more of those please.
In any case, what I did love about P5 was how the combat feels, the addition and implementation of guns, the style of the game, and of course Confidants and their abilities.
It sounds like an interesting idea 9S but I'm not sure. I think it could get hectic with too many variables.
I would say instead, maybe make the Confidants themselves more dynamic. Instead of going through them, the choices don't just increase affection points fast, but ACTUALLY affect how the next rank or future rank sections could progress.
Yeah, the romance divergence happens at like Rank 9 doesn't it? That's pretty shit I think, in later games didn't romance happen anywhere from Rank 5-7?
Changing the shadows back into into regular (voiced!) demons. They're a lot more memorable than the random mindless abominations in 3 and 4 for me, and it did away with the random shuffle time nonsense of just hoping that a persona you want shows up. Now if you want jack frost you just find a jack frost and do a hold up. It's not really a big thing, but a part of the little changes that add up.
I also like the option to revert to the persona you entered battle with automatically, it saves SO much fiddling about getting that auto buff persona or multi element sweeper out first every time, yeah the little convenience things like that are really nice. There's never a time where I'm thinking "why isn't there a shortcut or alternative setting for this" or "why isn't this clearly explained" that I got all the time in the previous games. With one real exception; why do we have to go back to the palace/mementos entrance to enter the velvet room? When you can instantly travel to safe rooms there might as well be a velvet room entrance in every one
@YoRHa No.9 Type S Are you trying to give me a bad memory that i failed to save some in DeSu2. ;w; But actually that would male the characters more interesting.
But I'll still saymore trips and more fun things in the side to do. Oh and less fishing, I hate fishing.XD
the best think that persona imprived is the general estatics of the game everything from the dynamic menu to the characters are so freekin fancy. and that for me gives a much needed amount of personalety to the game itself also making it easyer for people new to the persona series to jump into.
