Don't have any games sadly, but still a fan of the series.

I've been playing it for a while, since shortly after FE7 came to America. Still, I think Em's more of a fan of the newer stuff. I'm an oldfag.

I love Fire Emblem, been playing for a while now.

I only recently discovered it but man it hits you in the feels on classic mode. They died and it's all *Your* fault. It's not story related it's your stupidity that got your favorite killed.

Does #FE count? Heh.

Also, been looking at getting into it. Any of the new ones a good starting point?

depends on what you're looking for in a strategy game. If you're looking for a challenge, Conquest's a good starting point. Otherwise I'd suggest maybe Echoes. That's a pretty good one on all accounts.

Secrets of the Emblem and the gba for me!

Suppose I might as well bring my input since I was mentioned...

For starting points, FE7, FE8, and FE9 are my premier picks. They're all great in their own right, and aren't too overly challenging, save for FE7's Hector Hard mode, and Maniac if you play the Jp version of FE9.

Awakening is also a great entry point in my book, however it's gameplay is really quite bad comparatively to other Fire Emblem games, although the amount of versatility you have within your army is still quite fun. I recommend it mostly because of it's fun cast of characters, and the fact that it has drawn in many people into the franchise already.
If it's not your cup of tea, at least try one of my previous suggestions, which are much more solid gameplay-wise, and their stories and characters aren't bad either.

And, if anyone's curious, my favorite FE game is Shadows of Valentia, followed by FE9 Path of Radiance, followed by FE3/12 (New) Mystery of the Emblem.

I am sorry Hibiki and Bgammax, but how else should we get on the old games, if I can't find any in the stores and to lazy to go on the internet, I watched some let's plays the get at least a little of the old games and I wished to play them.

And I am still proud I can beat them on Classic hard (except conquest maybe)

What I am saying is I can't stand the debates on fire emblem games, because the old games had as much weirdness as the new ones. There was never a golden age of Fire emblem games. ( I mean we had lucius who was a cross dresser,
we had that one chick who was as sexualised as camilla and
manaketes already exists a long time) /Also nothing against anyone but there are people like that/

Well I am just pointing my opinion out.
I mostly joined Fire Emblem for the characters and the gameplay. Echeos actually makes lots of fun at the moment.
I wish I could play the others but germany is dry as eff.
