A quiet lakeside
*Outside of the city is a beautiful forest, it has a variety of trees, and one can occasionally see birds, squirrels, and other wildlife.
In the middle of this forest is a lake. Its a rather small lake, with a clearing on one side, and a small dock on the other. By the dock you can see a boy fishing with his father as his mother watches.
In the clearing, one figure is sitting on a tree stump, staring into the water. After a moment the figure speaks*
Sorry that I haven't been back in a while. Things have been.. Complicated for me. I guess.... I guess I've made some friends, but honestly, I'm scared. I never really knew what to do and... Well, I'm still as lost as ever.

*Maya sees gamma from afar and moves over, she silently sits next to him*

*Himeno lets out a sigh. She'd come here from Leblanc, and she didn't regret it. It was much more peaceful here. She slows to a stop near the figure* I can understand that. It's just... *She closes her eyes* This entire "Nexus" is just a constant stream of chaos. I'm not sure how anyone stands it.

*Gamma looks up at the two, he seems surprised*
Hey Maya and.... I.. I'm sorry, what's your name? I don't think I've ever seen you before.... H... How long have you been here?

*Gamma looks up at Rom and Junpei*

*His face darkenss a little, but you can see a faint smirk on his face*

*he rubs his chin in thought for a moment* Well I'd say I think you're a decent person, you helped Takeno out for no real reason at all. *He looks down* Honestly I'm not really sure what would of happened if you hadn't been around to stop people from rushing in.

*He turns up and smiles* You seem like a pretty level headed guy who usually does the right thing but... *His face turns dark* I'm not gonna lie though, I don't think guys like Sora and most around here are as bad as you make em out to be.

Sure maybe they aren't the smartest but what you said about natural selection at the beach? I just can't say that's right at all... *He sighs* Still you're a pretty decent guy in the end despite that. *He lays down next to the water and looks out at it* That's just my thoughts though Gamma.

Just because someone is supposedly "worthless" doesn't mean you should give up on them. Look, I know the feeling and it's pretty overwhelming. Just find some people that are willing to help you improve and find a new purpose.

Maybe because they are not worthless nor weak.
And being weak is not the same as worthless: a weakness means a strenght. One just needs to find it and exploit it.

Ok, maybe they have some redeeming qualities, but there's no doubt that so many people are weak. They can't control themselves, they can't deal with their problems, so they look to escape it. THAT is true weakness. The inability to follow your own path... N... No matter what.

Hmm you might be right... But then again why does everyone have to follow their own path? *He looks curiously at Gamma* Isn't finding someone else's you can agree with a valid path of it's own? I don't really see anything wrong with that.

The search of your own path is something unavoidable: all human beings want to find their own end, their own... destiny.
I can understand that, and I can understand that not everybody is willing to let their own life be directed by someone else.
That doesn't mean that they aren't capable of making it's own way.
For example, isn't that a kind of path? Avoiding problems, avoiding comfrontation, sometimes is even good to know when to quit.
Leaning on others even helps sometimes to gain strenght, to find the "way" you want.
True, at the end, everything is up to you. That doesn't mean you are alone

If you base your path on someone else, then you're just going to be lost whenever you're left alone. Its an unfortunate truth, but true nonetheless.
Hillock, you're saying that... Its ok to do your best to avoid something you're scared of.... Even if it might cause trouble for others... As long as you really want to do it?

No. Of course, avoiding all your troubles would mean that you are not willing to change it, to find your own path. Leaning on others all the time is not fair, don't you think?

As I said, is ok to avoid troubles when you can. But some times, danger is unavoidable. Even if you don't have the power to fight it, the power of many is enough to surprass all kind of dangers.
Even if you want to leave, to run away of that, one must face it if, more if your friends life depends on it. And even more: someone has to trust their friends when dealing with such situations. Because they are trusting you.

It was certainly a change of pace from here. Though quiet isn't necessarily a good thing.... It had its plusses.
