A Journey Continued

(Continuation of, well... the Journey thread. Anyone can join at any time.)

All present in this strange desert awaken. Regardless of their normal clothing, they now wear a red, hooded cloak. Around the neck area is a scarf with strange symbols. Beyond a few buildings and a now-open gate... well, that is currently a mystery.

*Kuu wakes up and yawns. The child looks around for a few moments to see where everyone is*

Sam

*Sam stretches as we wakes up*
What a pain in the ass. Waking up in strange places is common occurances for you guys, huh?

Shiza_Salad

*Shiza sits up*

Where am I?

Stella_Grey

*walks towards gate*

Kuudere

*Kuu looks around, he seems surprised*

W... Where did all you come from? I... I remember curling up in front of the pretty statue... Are you lost too?

HibkiKuze

*Hibki gets up* I need to stop sleeping in random locations.

Hundred-S

Aoi yawns and stretches, his hood falling off to reveal long, silver hair. He rubs his eyes and looks around... "Wait, is it just me, or are there more people here now?"

Shiza_Salad

OOC: Never mind. I'll be going, see ya.

HibkiKuze

Looks like more people Aoi. I'd just like to know why we woke up here in the first place.

Hundred-S

ooc: See ya Shiza!

Kuroumi

*Kuro wakes up, confused of where she is.*
Where am I..?

Kuudere

*Kuu looks around at the crowd, before running off after Stella*
WAIT, NEW LADY. WHERE ARE YOU GOING?

Sam

This desert needs a river.

Stella_Grey

Forward.....

As Stella passes through the gate, she comes face-to-face with a cloth... creature. Its long body waves in the wind as it makes a pinging noise.

"I have a few suspicions, but after seeing that mural, I'm guessing this has something to do with-" Aoi is interrupted by that noise. "What was that?

Kuudere

*Kuu walks towards the creature curiously*

It's pretty.... Can I touch it?

Stella_Grey

*attempts to mimic the noise*

Hundred-S

Stella's own "ping" creates a blue aura as well as a strange symbol. The cloth "snake" pings back and flies around her happily.

"Well, it seems friendly, so I guess you can touch it..." Aoi stands up and heads through the gate, noticing more cloth snakes almost swimming through the air.

Sam

Magic cloth. What will they think of next?

HibkiKuze

*Hibki goes to another one of the cloth snakes, if it makes a ping he attempts to mimic the pitch*

Kuroumi

*Kuro observes the cloth snakes.*
An interesting sight..

Kuudere

*Kuu giggles as all the snakes go by and runs around the area, trying to imitate their pings*

Hundred-S

Hibki gets the same results as Stella. A few of the other snakes ping as well. One of them nuzzles Kuu, glowing with some symbols as it does so.

One of the snakes flies in one direction and pings, drawing the attention of the others.

Stella_Grey

*follows the snek*

Kuudere

*Kuu giggles as one of the snakes nuzzles him, then runs after the group*

Wait!!! Come back!!!!

Sam

*Sam records a ping and follows everyone*
So they respond to sound. Fascinating.

Hundred-S

The snake that was nuzzling Kuu glows again, causing him to float into the air on its back. It "carries" Kuu towards the lead snake.

"I'm guessing they're like our scarves... let's go!" Aoi's scarf glows, sending him flying after the group of snakes. The cloth creatures' destination seems to be a pair of towers nearby.

Kuudere

*Kuu holds onto the snake, laughing the entire ride*
This is so cool!!!! I wish I could fly like you guys. I've just got this little scarf...

HibkiKuze

*Hibki flies to the snake that responded to him and rides it to its destination*

Kuroumi

*Kuro imitates a snake, and rides it to their destination.*

Sam

*Sam teleports to their locations in a bolt of lightning, Happy to just observe for the time being*

Hundred-S

Aoi is suddenly picked up by one of the snakes as it follows the others. "Wh-whoa! Uh... thanks for the ride!"

The area seems to get darker as sand swirls around the towers. Even the pinging of the snakes sounds dissonant and restless. More pings come from inside a tower, with multiple cloth snakes visible behind a grate.

Sam ends up... right inside the tower with the cloth snakes. His teleporter seems to have malfunctioned for some reason.

Sam

*Sam pulls out a screwdriver and fiddles with one of the devices in his arm*
Stupid thing
Gin: Malfunctioned again.

Stella_Grey

*following the sneks on foot, tries to pull the grate*

HibkiKuze

*Hibki looks around some more for anything that could free the other snakes*

Hundred-S

The grate begins to come loose. Some of the snakes ping at Stella, pushing against the grate. The snakes outside swim around frantically and ping as well.

Stella_Grey

*pulls harder*

Sam

*Sam whistles whilst finishing fixing his arm*
Ok. That should do.
*He accidently plays back the ping recording with his metal arm*

Hundred-S

ooc: gonna eat dinner quickly so...

ic: The grate begins to creak open... and the ping gives the cloth snakes a burst of energy. In one unified shove, they glow and bash open the grate, flying out in a sea of red cloth. They fly around the group to lift them into the air.

Sam

*Sam strolls out of the tower*
Well, that was an experience. Hi again, everyone.

OOC: welcome back

IC: Whoa! This is amazing!

Hundred-S

Aoi laughs as he rises into the air. "It's like flying, but... better than that!"

The cloth snakes begin to head to the top of the other tower.

HibkiKuze

What was it like using wings to fly? I've always wanted to have them.

Sam

*Sam walks to the next tower. He seems to have learned his lesson of spamming teleportation.*

Kuudere

*Kuu holds on to one of the snakes, though he's done laughing by now*

Hey, where are we going anyways? I'm starting to get tired of desert.

Hundred-S

One of the snakes dives down to lift Sam to the tower's top.

"Well... it's kind of like... swimming for you, I guess. It's less restrictive than having to just walk on the ground," Aoi explains. His feet touch the ground when the snakes finally reach the tower. In front of them is an open doorway that leads into a room. Another golden snake statue sits inside.

HibkiKuze

Huh, that makes sense. *Hibki investigates the statue listening for more notes*

Kuudere

*Kuu stares at the statue, before running up and grabbing it*
Mine. This thing is mine.

Sam

*Sam hops off the snakes and approaches the snake statue*
What interesting creatures they are.

Hundred-S

ooc: Phansite died. Thankfully I saved the post.

Ic:

Once the group is inside the room, something clicks into place behind him. Aoi whirls around and is met with a metal grate. "We're trapped? Great..." He sighs and leans against the wall.

A white-cloaked figure floats down into view on the other side. Gleaming yellow eyes narrow, and a moment later, the floor shudders... and shoots downwards at a high speed.

HibkiKuze

Umm, that's not good. Fly! *Hibki uses the scarfs power to float and land softly*

Sam

*Sam floats down, sitting on his drone before dropping harmlessly back to the floor*

Kuudere

*Kuu stubbornly refuses to let go of the snake statue, falling with it*
H.... Hey!!! Don't try to get away from me shiny thing.

Hundred-S

Aoi tries to fly as well... but when both Hibki's and Aoi's scarves run out if energy, they begin to fall as well.

The drone seems to be having trouble functioning, and begins to fall, although more slowly than everyone else.

The statue's ruby eyes flash...

[The mural returns. It depicts the humanoid with many black snake heads, this time with the heads severed from its body. Some are wrapped around what seem to be a Barong and a Pixie, while others have masks on- one of which Hibki recognizes. The Sea Serpent-like mask.]

The group finds themselves on sandy ground in a dark cavern, surprisingly unharmed.

Kuudere

*Kuu looks around for the snake statue, and begins to pout*
W... Where'd it go? THAT'S NOT FAIR. THE PRETTY THING WAS MINE.

*Noticing the sea serpent mask* Ugh this guy again. He just pisses me off.

Sam

*Sam's drone seems to be having engine troubles*
Geez Marietta. What are you powered with? Duracell batteries. Come here.
*Sam watches the others whilst tinkering with his drone*
