I usually say I was the original RPer as a joke as I know I'm not, plenty of people were doing rp in discussion before I joined and I know nothing of the site before the Beta of the forums. However, I do feel responsible for making the first purely RP dedicated threads. Back in the day Leblanc was still a mix after all, that was when to avoid clutter in Leblanc I began the Persona Awakening service. It was just a neat little idea I had to mix thing up on the site and allow people to have their own TV world trials, I didn't think much of it at the time but it was somewhat popular with people and in a lot of ways it spawned the older RP group we have today on the site. Let's skip a bit ahead now, the sins and all their...well...I guess they were glorious at one point? The think that was good about the sins is that they united the site so to speak however they also caused a lot of RP to become more serious in my opinion. That isn't necessarily bad but how we treated each other following the sins was. It made us feel like we had to be professional and I think that was the biggest downfall of RP.

Today we have learned from the sins though and realized that we have to move on from such mistakes in order to make peace with one another. Anyway, lets move on to modern day. The site as it is now is isolated. Certain thing about it now I do like, other not so much. The exclusive nature of the site has gotten out of hand in some ways though. People unwilling to work with one another and in general everyone treating each other like shit over the tiniest disagreement. Honestly, everyday I come on this site makes me feel a little sick on the inside. I know not everyone feels this way but between all this in-fighting and complaining I think a lot of people forget the reason for this site. We're here to have fun and interact with one another. We all have different definitions of fun and have to stop trying to tear each other apart or I really do think things will only get worse. RP has become a overly serious thing to the point where people forget that there is a difference between IC and OOC, Discussion rarely makes it past 20 posts, and the PMs are treated as the only safe haven by many users. To be blunt, I'm just disappointing with the attitude many have taken. I really do wish that the site would get better but this is a problem that lies within hatred that seems to have developed between people unwilling to talk like actual people. Whether this is due to fear or a refusal to speak, I do not know, however if I may request one thing...Please just talk to each other like adults. Anyway, I'm done with this rant or whatever you want to call it. I'm not responding to this thread so if you want to speak with me, do it over PMs or Discord. I don't care which, I'm just tired of watching things continue to devolve like this.

Really we should have put our foot down on this when it first started. This is just another group of people trying to force someone off the site because they disagree with a character decision.

Personally, I like to think that the split in users is a tiny bit due to the plot behind the characters. No one is the protagonist of the main story, only their own stories (except me JK LOL sorry old joke I remembered). I think that if we cut down on the protagonist bullshit and...uhh... whatever the opposite of cut down is on the actual bullshit, I think RP would work a bit better. Not trying to attack anyone here, I'm just saying there's a bit too much protagonist bullshit right now. Some actual random bullshit would be nice, like...I don't know, a Segway race in the desert? Everyone is an equal amount of protagonist in the main story, and I'd like to keep it that way.

I'm assuming when you say we need more bullshit you're talking about in terms of thread content. Not in terms of a certain user who godmods solutions to everyone's problems?

Yup. The thing that made the RP great in the beginning is the amount of bullshit that happened. Now, it's just kinda... hanging out until the next event from the veterans of the Phansite...I guess? That's what it feels like to me, anyway.

Honestly most of the random stuff I can think of is either back when RP was 100% Leblanc and the place was getting anti-RP bombed daily, or your own creation.

Also I'm going to one-up you there. I don't even think there is hanging out until the next event anymore. It's just event, event, event, event, event.

As I said in my thread on RP getting militaristic, at this point even Leblanc is nothing more than a launching pad for the next Palace, or Rescue Mission, or Possession.

...okay, I admit that I have just been thoroughly one-upped. The amount of events is pretty large, now that I think about it. However, seeing as how there isn't much that really unites the Phansite (and considering the first snow day was the last truly bullshit thing that has happened on the Phansite), there's not much I can think of that could unite it again. Maybe, if we all just came together and talked things out, we might be able to sort all the problems out. Also, yeah, there needs to be some kind of separation between events and hanging out.

And I mean on the Phansite for where we talk things out. Not everyone has discord.

I mean we made a conscious decision to not have one story arc that unites everyone after the sin plot imploded epically (if you're reading this and didn't know it imploded, discord thing. We had a bad time shortly after Ira wrapped up).

I mean I'll say that there are people with plans for RPs to bring everyone together. Heck I have one, in a way.

But honestly at this point our bigger issue has moved OOC. People basically are going around trying to dictate to others what they can and cannot do. And if you disagree, even if you're entirely IC to disagree, they try to bully you out of threads.

Yeah, I remember that happening. But still, we should talk things out.

We are planning to talk things out Star, but since not all of the group is in one place it'll take some effort. Still, I know there are enough people who care that we will be able to fix it, even if we are forced to add some rules or get a mod on it.

Well, that's somewhat unfortunate and good news. Welp, I spoke my mind about the current state of the Phansite. I'm just glad we are making a conscious effort to fix things.
