The Serpent's Gambit

(You enter a room covered in what appears to be vibrant blood and saliva of some sort. At the center of the room there is a laptop with two slitted bright red eyes on the screen. The eye seem to track your movements and they make you feel oddly uncomfortable. Through personal experience you know you can enter the laptop with ease.)

Will you enter the laptop?

*As he enters, he looks around*

Ene? Hey Ene are you there...?

*looks at the strange laptop screen*

That is.... Concerning. But if this has anything to do with that Ene girl, I must see what it is about.

*hits the Yes prompt*

Gah...I'm sure this won't be easy...but I'll save you...especially after failing before.

*Kalib looks down and makes a fist before finally entering.*

Why do I do this to myself....

(As the group looks around they notice that the shop is drastically different from normal. The floor is completely flooded with a red liquid that appears to similar to blood. While the walls along with all the monitors are embedded with yellow spears and cables. The couch at the center of the shop lies completely destroyed and all that is left there is a gas mask.)

(The room is bathed completely in red light save for a monitor that is glowing black with the color of static. The monitor is the only thing that appears to be working in the area.)

Ene

*Her voice appears*

Man you guys really messed up.

*She sighs*

I don't even have a physical form anymore.

Akamoto_Shinji

What did you guys do while I was gone, gees....

Kazuya

*Kazuya gulps as he walks slowly towards the monitor.*

Well...m-maybe there are more images...?

*Kalib walks forward and picks up the gas mask and calls out.*

Last I saw her there were like, twenty Enes and they were trying to kill us. Which was certainly an improvement over trying to kill herself, but still not what I intended

(Once Kazuya walk up the monitor the screen suddenly becomes black. The long body of some sort of creatures begins to fill the screen as the same red liquid around them drips from the machine.)

Instead of apologizing you might want to hurry.

*She suddenly speaks a bit more quietly*

There isn't much time left.

*looking at the creatures disturbed*

Hurry with what? Are we trying to vanquish something, save the citizen. What exactly is going on here?

*At first he is freaked out by what's happening, but after a few seconds he closes his eyes and shakes his head. "Not the time" he thinks. He then speaks in a quiet voice*

We know that, what can we do?

Emerson

H-hey, I got some reports from Nacci that there's someth-

Um... m-may I be caught up? Y'know what, save it for later. Anything I can do? How's Ene?

Ene

*She frantically speaks in a hushed tone*

I don't even know what is going on myself!

One minute I am asleep and the next I have no body!

(The creatures slowly stop moving on the screen and watch the party with unblinking red eyes. One particularly large one suddenly faces the party directly and attempts to lunge at them through the screen. It is unable to pass through but the glass screen shatters upon impact.)

*She screams with pain*

Shit the thing got me!

You have to hurry through the screen!

George_Jackman

*glares at Shinji*

Look, villain. I thought you were seeking redemption? Are you going to help, or leave the lady to her fate, like you've always done?

*Kalib reaches out into the screen again.*

Hey Hero Man, I'm just making sure that I don't screw her up even worse than I have already.

*scoffs*

You're not going to make the situation better like that, that much is certain. You at least have a chance to fix things.

I...I don't like this one bit...!

*He reaches out into the screen*

Hey, Shinji, I think it's a little more important that we at least make an effort to help her, rather than sulk in our little puddle of depression over there. Are you gonna actually attempt to help Ene, or not?

Not helping is better than making it worse.

George_Jackman

*sighs*
I was hoping you had turned a new leaf. Very well, if you insist on remaining in your old ways, I won't try to stop you. At least, not until you do something evil.

*reaches for the screen*

Ene

(Kalib's hand touches the screen first causing the many creatures on it to slither away. The big creature however moves out of the screen and bites him on the arm drawing twin pinpricks of blood. Upon exiting the screen the screen it can be noted that the creatures is actually a large black snake with glowing red eyes. Once Kaz touches the screen the long body of the snake on Kalib's arms begins to wrap on his arm too.)

(As if in tune with the snake bite a downpour of red water begins to flood the shop slowly raising the water level by the minute.)

Ene

(Jackman's hand is met with no snakes since the rest have already left but there is something sticky on the other side. The wall of sticky substance he is met with prevents his arm from fully diving in.)

Emerson

Shinji you're not thinking about this straight. You not helping is EXPONENTIALLY worse than at least trying to help.
If you make a mistake, no one will blame for for it. At least you tried. But if you sit there and do absolutely nothing, you're no better than- AHH, KALIB!
Kalib, are you ok?!
*He points his shortsword at the snake creature.*
S-should I hit it?

*Kalib winces at the bite.*

*Kalib begins punching the snake's head.*

*attempts to reach further, to no avail, before noticing the snakes around Klib and Kaz*

Worry not, I can handle this.

*slashes at the larger snake, careful not to hit Klib*

Kazuya

AAAH!! GROSS!! GET OFF OF ME YOU FUCKING SNAKE!!!

*He immediately goes for his sword and does his damn best to get it off of him by slashing at it.*

I HATE THIS KIND OF THING PLEASE STOP THIS!!

*His face shows nothing but absolute terror, and then goes as far as to use Kusanagi to cut it.*

I SAID LEAVE ME ALONE!!

Emerson

A-also, uh, I would like to not drown in b-blood.
Hmm...
*Em sticks the butt end of his shordsword into the Computer, attempting to reach farther into it.*

Ene

(The snake hisses as Kalib punches it and tries to bite a different portion of his arm. Before it is able to once again sink it's fangs Jackman cuts it in half. Before it is able to recover Kaz manages to slice it into even tinier pieces.The snake disintegrates into a black power that mixes with the rising red water.)

(The red water continues to rise at an alarming pace as it reaches the ankles of the party.)

(Em's sword manages to poke through the sticky substance and reach open air. It can't be pulled back however since the substance has now weighed it down.)

U-uh, guys!?
Help!?
I'm s-stuck!!
*Em tries to go farther into the computer, and tries to stick another arm into it.*

*Kalib looks to the screen again and tries to push further into it.*

Alright. Snakes or no snakes. I'm going in!

Kazuya

Fucking snakes I hate slimy and slippery things!!

*He looks down, and notices the red water rising. He looks around trying to find some sort of solution.*

Alright how do we fix this...? Do we know from where the water is coming? Should we get into the monitor...!?

*He shakes his head and pouts*

I can't think straight, fucking snake...

George_Jackman

*looks down at the rising water*

Seems there's only one thing to do then

*attempts to slash the substance inside of the screen with his sword, then turns to Shinji*

Are you coming, or not?

Emerson

*Barely dodges Jackman's slash.*
H-hey! I'm kinda stuck here, y'know! Please don't cut my arm off!
There's open air on the other side! If you push me through, I can probably bring everyone else over with Crescent Rose!

Ene

(Em's other arm has some difficulty pushing through the substance but it is able to enter through the space that the weapon created. Once his hand is through he is able to sense intense heat and slight breeze.)

(Kalib pushes through the screen with his entire body and manages to cross through after much effort. However the sticky substance covers his eyes, face, and every other part of his body.)

(Jackman's sword manages to cut some of the substance but as some gets cut more comes pouring down.)

(The water has not risen up to the lower arm level of some of the shorter group members.)

George_Jackman

Well, if you insist citizen, I can oblige.

*backs away and begins pushing Em through the monitor*

Get in there, brave warrior.

Kazuya

*He tries to force his way through the monitor with all his might*

Eweweweweweweweewewewewewew!!

*He closes his eyes in disgust.*

*tries to force his way in as well*

*Kalib begins trying to shake off the goop and clear his eyes. All the while he is listening for any movement in the area.*

Alright. Remain calm. Focus. Focus...

Ene

(Through the assistance of Jackman's strength Em manages to make it through the sticky substance and fall to the ground face first. Kaz and Shinji also make it through after much physical exertion on their part and they end up covered in the stuff.)

(Upon inspection Kalib can notice that the area is conspicuously silent save for the faint tune of a cheesy anime opening in the distance.)

(The water rises up to Jackman's chest once everyone else has left the room.)

George_Jackman

Well, seems like there's nothing else for it. ONWARD

*closes his eyes and pushes through the sticky stuff on the other side of the monitor*

Emerson

*Em picks himself up, and attempts to get the slime off his eyes.*

Ene

(Jackman makes it through the screen covered in the sticky substance and once again rejoins with the group.)

Akamoto_Shinji

*uses a spell to clean everyone up*

Kazuya

*Kazuya is now freaking out, running in a small circle as he tries to get the sticky substance off of him.*

GROSSGROSSGROSSGROSSGROSSGROSS!!!

*After a few seconds of losing his damn mind, Kazuya got the thing off of him and remains calm. He takes a deep breath as he looks into the distance, from where the cheesy song is coming from.*

Alright...that was a thing, onwards.

*He walks to where the song is coming from.*

*Kalib wipes off his glasses after Shinji cleans everyone up.*

Did you guys hear that? There's that music coming from somewhere deeper in....here....wherever here is.

Well, it seems there's only one place to go. Come on, young heroes. Onward, to confront the foul villain who did this to the poor lady.

*runs towards the song*

Well, no point in wasting time.
*Follows behind Kazuya.*

*chuckles in self derision at Justice's comment and follows from a distance*

Ene

(Upon being fully cleaned up the group is able to notice that they are standing right in the middle of an empty crosswalk. Tall buildings surround them and the occasional bike and car can be seen lying around. However save for items the area is strangely devoid of life. The screens on the buildings continue to function yet no sound can be heard.)

(As the group move toward the cheesy anime song the ground beneath them starts to become transparent revealing red lines beneath. The buildings also become a bit more desolate as they continue.)

Ene

Guys I have managed to hide for now ...

*Her voice fades in and out*

But the enemy is more dangerous then I anticipated she-

*Suddenly her voice cuts off*

*Only for the laughter of children to replace it*

George_Jackman

Come on, young heroes. And villain.
*looks at Shinji*

The lady seems to be in danger. If we aren't there to help her, then who will be?
*runs in the direction of Ene's voice*

Emerson

That... does not sound good.
Saul! Scan, let's go!
*Saul begins to scan the area for any pathways or energy sources.*

*Kalib takes a moment to calm his nerves after hearing her voice cut off.*

Hold on, we're coming!

*Kalib turns to Em.*

Hey, can Saul pinpoint where she is?

Kazuya

Kalib please try to be quiet, we don't want to attract any unnecessary attention.

*He smiles at him, while looking around cautiously but not moving anymore.*

What makes the laughter of children so creepy...?

Ene

(Upon scanning the area Saul pick up a large energy signature underneath the transparent ground. The energy appears to be moving in the direction of Ene's voice and the cheesy anime song. The energy signature continue to move until it reaches a plain white door attached to a particularly bland building.)

(The laughter of children only seems to increase around the area.)

Emerson

Well, I guess this is out best bet...
I guess I can do it.
*He slowly opens the door.*

*Kalib puts a hand on Em's shoulder, trident at the ready to cover him.*

In here? Okay.

*Kalib tries to ignore the incessant laughing.*

*casually follows*

*He immediately summons Cerberus and prepares his sword. Standing right behind Kalib.*

Alright...

George_Jackman

*stands with the others, sword drawn*

Remember, villains often have some sort of fiendish trap in the works. We must be ready for anything

Ene

(Upon opening the door the group is met with a large bedroom comprised of two small beds. All over the place lies clothing in a variety of colors and there is a sign in bright colors saying "Mekakushi Dan" on the wall. There are also an assortment of photos pinned up on the walls depicting a variety of children with different age ranges. The children appear can be seen doing silly things together in the photos.)

(The previously heard laughter of children emanates from a door across from the group. Muffled yelling is also coming through beneath the laughter.)

George_Jackman

*foolishly charges for the door*

Come on men, it seems that the object of our rescue is in there, we must rush in and save them while there is still time.

*boldly attempts to break down the door*

Emerson

I am... completely freaked out right now.
But, I suppose only one thing more to do...
*Em readies himself to open the next door, Shortsword in hand, glowing Yellow with Electric Dust.*

Emerson

J-Jackman! Please!

I can't believe I'm saying this...but we need to stay calm right now Jackman.

*Kalib moves behind him, again weapon at the ready.*

Kazuya

*He sighs and casually walks in.*

And there we go...

Ene

(The door breaks down under Jackman's push revealing a tied up Ene in the next room. She is bound to a chair by what appears to be black snakes and her mouth has a cloth shoved in it. Her screams are barely making it through the cloth yet they can be heard since the laughter has stopped.)

Akamoto_Shinji

*looks around the room for anything suspicious*

George_Jackman

Fear not citizen, hope has arrived, for I am here.

*runs over to Ene and begins to cut the snakes in an attempt to free here*

*Kalib reminds himself to stay calm...it isn't working.*

Ene! Hang on!

*Kalib begins moving towards her as he scans around the room.*

Emerson

*Switches his Sword to it's gun form and begins firing Electric Dust bullets at the Snakes.*
Hurry!

What the hell...?

*He stands there in shock as he watches Jackman do his thing.*

Things just get worse before they get better, but still...I'm sure we'll win this!

Ene

(The snakes wrapping around Ene quickly disintegrate as they are both cut by Jackman and shot at by Em. Once freed she rubs her wrists to check for circulation and offers the group a grateful smile.)

*She bows*

*She starts to laugh*

*Stays quiet and barely in sight*

George_Jackman

*laughs with Ene*

Fear not citizen, it is my duty to save any in need. Now then, can you tell us what did this to you? So we can prevent such a terrible thing from happening again.

Ene

(The room that they find themselves in is surprisingly devoid of anything save for a few photos. There is a small trail of blood on the floor that appears to lead nowhere. The room only has two doors inside of it.)

Thank goodness! But...something is off..this was too easy...you said the enemy was strong?

*Kalib looks around nervously.*

I'm happy you're okay Ene, but I believe we're not done yet.

*He smiles at her and then checks the photos*

Maybe we'll find something useful here...?

*examines the other door*

Ene

I don't even know why i'm in this mess.

*She continues to rub her wrists*

The children just kidnapped me before I even had the chance to wake up properly.

*She yawns and looks at Kalib*

Well the children were strong enough to tie me up like that.

I would be wary.

Ene

(The photo that Kaz checks shows nine children all with matching pairs of red eyes. They all appear to be taking a silly group photo and blue Ene is noticeably on the screen of a phone.)

(Upon examining a brown door Shinji realizes that it won't budge.)

Emerson

... Are the children snakes? I think the children are snakes.

So, which door should we go in, Ene?

George_Jackman

*thinks for a moment*
Sooo... Where did these children go? It seems like they need to be scolded at the very least for doing something like this.

Kazuya

Ene, those children in the photos, were they the ones that kindapped you?

*He turns to Ene with his arms crossed*

Why are red eyes always evil....

*sounds a little depressed*

*Kalib walks over and casts his healing spell and covers Ene in a healing light as he smiles.*

There you go. You should be A-Okay now.

Ene

*She casually points at a green door*

The children went through that door in a hurry.

We should follow them to make sure they don't do anything else.

*She glaces at Kaz*

Yeah all ten of them just tied me up and dragged me here.

*The healing spell invigorates her*

*She offers a bright smile*

*runs to the green door and attempts to open it*

*He turns his sword back into a gun and readies to fire into the room.*

*He winks at Kalib and stands close to the door with Cerberus by his side.*

Be prepared Pascal...

*His demonic dog nods and says something in a language only Kazuya could understand thanks to his COMP.*

Same, don't let them get close.

Ene

*She vigrously nods*

I am fine with following you.

*She whispers*

Suckers ...

(The green door swings open at Jackman's pull and suddenly a pair of red eyes can be seen in the dark of the next room. The eyes capture the groups attention and everyone can't seem to look away from them.)

(The red eyes finally navigate out of the dark showing an orange haired girl wearing an idol uniform. She offers the group a wide smile as she drags everyone's focus toward her slow movement to the brown door.)

George_Jackman

*continues staring at the girl*

Well, that wasn't so bad. I wonder what she's doing.

Emerson

*Em begins to fire Electric Dust shots at the orange haired girl.*

*Kalib struggles to look away, but can't.*

What the Hell?!

Akamoto_Shinji

*after hearing Ene, decides to NOT turn around and look at the other's, and continues to look at the brown door,using his other senses to determine the events behind him*

*He is unable to look away*

Crap...!! Cerberus what about you!?

*Cerberus lets out a howl, indicating he is unable to do so as well.*

Don't worry pal, we'll find a way out of this, just stay close to me...!!

Kaz gimme angles, tell me where the problem is in relation to me, be my eyes...

*pulls out Deagle*

Orange...she's heading to the brown door...

*Walks behind the group*

Man you guys really are idiots!

*She starts to laugh*

The boss was right when she said you people were an easy catch!

(Suddenly Ene's? eyes glow red revealing a brown haired boy with a black hoodie in her place. The boy quickly grabs behind Kazuya's neck and sends electrical currents into him. As he does this the idol girl gets hit by the dust shots and ends up leaning against the wall. Her eyes are still open however and fully trained on the group.)

(Upon seeing the idol girl injured a pair of red eyes suddenly glow in front of the group. The glow of the red eyes strip away the invisibility of a girl wearing a purple hoodie and she quickly lunges at Em attempting to electrocute her for revenge.)

Akamoto_Shinji

I don't know whats happening, So Hold on!

*Casts Blazing hell behind him, Not looking* the size of the attack encompassing the whole room*

*Kalib charges towards the Orange girl.*

Good thing we keep your shield all polished huh Leo? Let's show the little Missy her reflection!

*Leonidas appears and Kalib reaches for the shield, holding it in front of the girl as he approaches.*

*stares at the orange girl confused*

Why did someone shoot the child? Am I missing something?

Emerson

*Em brings out Crescent Rose and attempts to block the purple girl with it.*
D-damn it, I was a bit too trigger happy with that... Assumed it was something more dangerous.
I messed up. My bad.

Kazuya

CERBERUS, AVOID THE ORANGE GIRL AT ALL COST!!

*He yells as he takes the full hit without being able to do anything. The pains makes hims leans on one knee and to close his eyes. He smirks with confidence, "This better work" he thinks, and takes the chance to stab Cerberus' paw with his sword, this makes him close his eyes and turn around, growling at the brown haired boy. Kazuya turns around and point his sword at him.*

I dare you to move!

*His body is quickly engulfed in blue flames.*

Ene

(Shinji's blazing hell quickly encompasses the whole room burning some of the photos while also dealing fire damage to everyone.)

(As the orange girl suffers from the flames she is immediately faced with her own appearance in Kalib's shield. She becomes captivated by her appearance and is unable to look away.)

(The purple girl is blocked by crescent rose but she is able to still send waves of electricity into Em. She glares at Em as she is forced to jump back.)

(The brows haired boy simply laughs at Kazuya's sword and touches it with his fingertip. The tiny touch sends some electricity down the sword toward Kaz.)

Brown haired Boy: Aww this is cute but you can't really beat any of us. Even if you finish me and the girls off you still have hell coming right for ya.

Emerson

*Takes the electricity surprisingly well. I guess working with machines IS good for combat!*
O-ok, so first question.
Why the hell are you doing this?

Who the hell are you?

*Closes eyes and fires a bullet at the brown haired boy, using his voice to pinpoint his location*

*Kalib holds the shield in front of the girl as Leonidas appears behind her, ready to strike.*

Now tell me where the real Ene is! Or your head is gonna be a lawn decoration.

*Kalib looks away as he speaks, listening for any sign if movement or struggle from the girl.*

Kazuya

I-I-Intention is what count, g-good try Shinji!!

*He doesn't let his sword go, taking both fire and electric damage, still smirking.*

Y-You forgot I have a gigantic demonic dog right by my side, didn't you?

*Out of nowhere, Cerberus jumps at his opponent, pressing his paws agains his arm and legs and roaring at the brown haired boy right on his face. Kazuya walks over to him and kneels in front of him, avoiding his gaze.*

I don't know what you'll pull, so I'm not looking at you...

*He places the tip of his sword on the kids forehead.*

We're not happy with this, but we won't kill unless you do something stupid, now, tell me everything you know.

Ene

(The orange girl's face takes on a fearful expression as she finds that she can't look away from her own reflection. She presses against the wall trying to distance herself from Kalib as much as possible.)

Orange girl: The real Ene is having a chat with herself right now. Please don't hurt me! I have a little brother to take care of!

(Shinji's shots miss the brown haired boy and hit the opposite wall instead. The boy is instantly shoved to the ground by a large demon dog and his once proud smirk grows smaller as he realizes the position he is in.)

(He whispers.)

Boy: I'm sorry En.

(He then glares at Kazuya.)

Boy: Right now Ene is having a meeting with her other self just past the brown door over there. We were simply meant to be distractions until she gets the job done. Happy now you jerk.

(The purple girl glares at Em with a cold expression.)

Purple girl: We are the Mekakushi Dan and we will win the war even if we lose this fight!

(She charges at Em and once again tries to grab her with electricity.)

Akamoto_Shinji

So....
*turns back to the door*
How do we open this?

Emerson

*Em dodges her grab, and fires an Ice Dust round onto her foot, keeping her stuck to the ground by Ice.*
U-um, why do you need to distract us? If she's talking with herself and needs some alone time, I'd happily leave them to it. Unless... there's something going one that we SHOULD worry about..?

Akamoto_Shinji

Hey Kaz, Did my actions even accomplish anything?

Kazuya

I see, I'm sorry for hurting you, it was necessary.

*He smiles at the boy*

We will not hurt you, but we need to get there. So we need you to open the brown door right now, I hope you understand the position you're in, right Pascal?

*Cerberus growls again with ferocity*

If you say "Yes" you're all free to go after you open the door. But don't try anything stupid...I doubt your friends would be happy to clean up after you.

I will be honest Shinji, they didn't, but I was happy you managed to get away when you did, you were our back-up. But you took action way too fast and in a way too riksy manner. Be more patient next time, okay?

*He smiles at Shinji*

(The purple girl simply looks down at that.)

(As the group peers into the door they are suddenly standing in the middle of a courtyard surrounded by cheering people. The courtyard is adorned with snake emblems and once again the strange red water spills from all over. A hissing noise can be heard in the summer breeze that sweeps past the group. Across from the group lies the blue version of Ene on a finely decorated throne adorned with golden snakes. She appears to be happy as she waves at all the people around her.)

(Meanwhile the other version on Ene lies unconscious in front of the floor. She is noticeably covered in snake bites and her skin is terribly bruised.)

(By blue Ene's side stands a court comprised of a boy wearing a green hoodie, a little boy adorned in blue, and a white haired girl that looks particularly nervous.)

*Em jumps down and closes the door they entered the first room through. He then uses Ice Dust bullets to seal the cracks.*

(The snake takes yet another bullet wound along the side of it's body and it's squirms begin to grow weaker. Just as it is about to leave it's only exit them gets blocked by ice. Many flames consume the snake in it's moment of uncertainty and it slowly moves back towards the group with a fearful expression. At this point the snake is a burned and broken mess.)

(Suddenly the wind picks up and throws the snake dust into the sky. Upon being thrown into the sky the snake dust is joined by the rest of the leftover snakes the group killed before. As all the dust begins to combine a huge bout of laughter can be felt throughout the world.)

Booming voice: I hope you enjoyed the exhilaration of killing me!

(The dust forms into a giant snake head that glares at the group.)

Booming voice: Cause that will be the last time you will ever get to feel it again!

(The head's eyes turn a bright red and it flicks out it's tongue at the group.)

Booming voice: I will having fun destroying the AI's mind along with all of you!

*Immediately slashes down the frozen door with CR.*

*He begins firing at the head as the others can leave.*

I have already explained to you what I saw, someone was killed by each of these objects. They're weapons, much like that scythe you carry. One was used to kill someone else, the other was used to kill themselves. Death seems to be the important part.

*Afterwards, Em walks away from him and unsheathes his Shortsword, and it glows yellow. Every once in a while, it sparks.*
*Sigh* So, do we have to keep waiting for more cards, or can we just figure this out now?
But if we take too long then who knows what could happen...
*Lost in thought, but looks up at the clock every so often while thinking.*

Maybe these items were a clue. The villain likely knows of me, and left the two in order to draw us into his trap. The question is, how knowing about two deaths h.... (Once the clock reaches 12:20 the shaking in the room becomes violent enough to form cracks on the walls and floor.)

(Another index card appears on the table. This time the index card is smeared a bit with blood.)

*Em sees Kalib with the gun quickly grabs it from him.*
No way in hell I'm trusting you with this thing!
*He sets it back down on the table.*

*points to Em and Klib, then glares at Shinji*

(Jackman instantly dies as some remaining electricity from the sword stops his heartbeat. His body falls to the floor in a limp state and his consciousness is sent somewhere else.)

(As the clock reaches 12:25 the room violently trembles allowing for wider cracks to appear. The table falls over letting the scissors fall to the floor.)

*He stands up and grimaces at the situation.*

*He takes the gun from Kalib's hand and points it at his own head, without any kind of fear in his eyes.*

*He magically has a pen on him, and he walks to the table and writes on the blank side of one of the index cards. He folds it over, crosses out the old message, and writes:

(Kalib instnatly dies through blood loss.)

(Upon reaching 12:30 the room has it's most terrible quake and the ceiling falls in crushing everyone else who is still alive.)

(The voice once again speaks in between chuckles.)

Voice: Your choice in all this was merely an illusion.

(Upon death every single member of the group is found laying against something warm with their eyes closed.)

(The group has now returned to the empty intersection they were in the day before. The heat in the area is oppressive and the sound of cicadas can be heard in the air. There is a flyer lying near the group and up on one of the buildings a digital screen can seen. The ground itself is translucent and there is a gathering of energy at a certain point near the digital screen.)

*as the first to leave, he is also the first to stir, he begins to get to his feet, eyes open*

*notices the others around him*
Wait, was that some sort of dream? I should probably wake them, we need to get a move on if we're going to save that Ene girl.
